I met with Andrew a few months before the work was to begin to discuss options. In August 2014 he installed a long french drain that emptied into the woods and down the ravine on my property behind the house. As sometimes happens with these things, the system did not really get a good test until today. We had a storm cell over our neighborhood that dumped a ton of water in my yard in a very short period of time. Andrew's drain sucked it up without a problem and moved the water as advertised. I should have done this years ago!
Andrew (owner) of Classic Drainage promptly responded to my online request for an estimate for what I called a French drain but later came to know it as a channel drain. Andrew asked me to send him some pictures of the area I wanted serviced. I took out my phone and snapped a few pictures sending them to Andrew. He then sent me an estimate where he also stated he needed to send someone out to take measurements to give me a more precise cost estimate. His field rep calle dme within an hour and ararnged a tiem which was very convienant for me - the next day (a Saturday) at 10 am. Andrew;s field rep was even early, took the measurements, provide more literature on what would be done. Very professional and knowledgeable. What answers he did not have, was told the information would be provided as soon as possible. It was.
On the day the work was to be done, Classic Drainage arrived on time and started immediately. Andrew even explained exactly what would be done, how it would be done and how long it would take. I was so impressed with the Classic Drainage work team. No breaks, constantly working. Completed the work, under my curious eyes, cleaned the site and it looked great. Nothing was damaged, not even our plants when they installed my new drain pipes.
I would definitely use and recommend Classic Drainage again.

Overall, there were a few initial mixups with the delivery time and amount, but these guys were very prompt and professional and made it right. The amount turned out to be short, but a quick call resulted in an additional delivery a few days later to make up the difference. Ultimately, I was pleasantly surprised by their customer service and professionalism.

I only feel its right to put up this review the same day, since the time from my first call to them to delivery was less than 19 hours. Amazing! Of the 5 places I called the day before, they were the only one to return a call.
Andrew was quick on the call back (and it was after business hours!), and gave me a good price. Their stacking fee was only $50, which is about 1/3 of what others are charging (for what equates to 25-30 minutes of work. We ordered a 1/2 cord of wood for 165.00. Good price for sure.
We were not home during delivery, and they stacked everything and sent a text picture of the work they did.
Will gladly order from them again and have already referred them to 2 people today!
Thanks for the work!
Andrew and his crew have always done an outstanding job for us. He looks at every project with an eye towards drainage and keeping water away from the house--which was important in our case. Andrew also goes above and beyond and recommends options that are cost saving. Most recently, Andrew created a landscaping project for us in a very wet spot of our townhouse patio. We had a general idea of how we wanted it to look, and Andrew provided an exceptional option for cost savings in placing a circular stone slab down. The quality of work is consistently outstanding. We would recommend them for any project you have.

About ten days later, Andrew and a crew of 4-6 men (at various times) arrived promptly, They began by replacing and raising two window wells and adding additional dirt and gravel. An area near the basement room with the mold problem required raising the ground to redirect water away from the house, which they did.
About six gutter drain spouts had water redirected away from the house toward or all the way to the surrounding woods. Classic Drainage dug troughs, laid pipe, and connected the pipe to the gutter spouts. In addition, Classic Drainage installed a consolidated pipe that directs water from one gutter spout and our sump pump to the wooded area. Several of the pipes were 8-15 feet in length. One was installed under the sidewalk in the front of the house. The results are that several eyesores were addressed, water is now being redirected as it should, and the whole drainage system looks modern and up to date. Soil, grass seed and hay were placed
on top of the trenches where pipes were installed. In addition, the crew took care to ensure that the existing lawn sprinkler system was not damaged in any way, and even adjusted some of the sprinkler piping to better direct water.
In all, the work took three visits over about 18 hours total.
We are extremely pleased with the quality of the work, the expertise that Andrew and his crew clearly demonstrated, and the efficiency and effectiveness of their work. We highly recommend Classic Drainage!

Classic Drainage did a fantastic job to solve my drainage problems from my gutter downspouts. So much water was draining around my house foundation, that the ground was perpetually saturated with water during the summer. They dug a trench from the corner downspouts, connected the pipes to the downspouts, and laid the PVC pipes away from the house to drain the water off of my property. After filling in the trench, they seeded and landscaped the work. No more problems and everything is working great. They provided a complete package and were very diligent in avoiding the established lawn irrigation system. A few pipes were damaged, but they were fixed the same day. Everything went very smoothly, professionally, and in a short time. I would highly recommend this provider to anyone needing solutions to their drainage problems.
I can't recommend Classic Drainage highly enough. Andrew kept in touch with us every step of the way, and the work was incredible. They completed it quickly and far exceeded our expectations. They completely cleaned up our yard when they departed, and really went the extra mile to ensure that everything was working perfectly. We plan to use Classic Drainage in the future for all of our other landscaping needs, to include tree removal.
Professionalism: they had all the right tools, brought a big and experienced crew, worked quickly and did not go over the amount they estimated.
Punctualism: they arrived early and left late (yet didn't charge us extra)
Quality: they removed a ton of large, invasive trees on hilly, wet ground all without damaging the existing grass or knocking trees into structures or other trees. In my opinion, this was probably a really tough job considering how many large trees we had. There was one stump that Andrew wouldn't have been able to grind without ruining the grass and making a mud pit and I REALLY liked that he pulled me aside and asked me if I wanted him to attempt it or just leave it instead of acting without asking us.
Dealing with problems: Andrew's crew ended up accidentally nicking a brick on our driveway retaining wall. Andrew immediately offered to have the brick repaired, apologized and, to be extra fair, didn't bill us for $500 of the work until after the brick was fixed so that we would feel extra comfortable. How cool is that?
All around A+++ experience!

The guy I spoke to showed up when he said he was going to be there. He communicated with me the whole time and he was on site the whole time. He did not just drop off a crew and pick them up at the end of the work. The price was great.

A 4 man team came on time got right to work, had it all done within 60-90 minutes.
They were polite, friendly and fast workers, and a well done job.
I had a drainage problem near my back door from my sump pump.
They combined my House drain pipe and the sump drain into one and dug a hole out to the back yard. They cleaned up all the dirt and rocks from the hole, and took the mess away. They even swaped up the street area from dirt. They put grass seed down over the seam and covered it with hay.
I was very happy with the work, and will call them again if needed for any other jobs.

I always had water problems in my yard. There are a very few companies that specialize in drainage work. I had Andrew the owner of Classic Drainage come out. He is very conscientious and very pleasant. He tries to make the most economical choices for you. He is very flexible. I had a lot of problems with my yard. So, I had to keep having them come out and he really did respond. It is not like he does a job and then takes off. He is going to be coming back in the spring. He is not inexpensive in my books. He can afford to be pricey because there are not so many people who do this, but he is a little less expensive than another company. The initial job of attaching the downspouts to the pipes that ran underground and to trench those to the storm drain cost me $2500. So, I thought that it was a little pricey for doing that, but he did a good job. I was trying to get one of the pipes that had to do with the sump pump at the front of the house. However it didn?t work because there was too much water going to another pump and was causing ice in the street. So that?s when we called our plumber back to redirect it to the back of the house to the storm drain. So it ended up costing me more money. It was a very small job when he came out to redirect the sump pump and he charged me $225 for the outside job. He basically had to put a fitting on the pipe to connect it to the pipe on the ground with the downspouts. So $225 is his minimum for a small job and he said it is going to be $2500 for a day?s work. He actually didn?t raise the price when the one day job became a two day job because it rained. He did the job during the winter when it was really dry and it hasn?t been a while. I have to see exactly what happens to my yard once it rains. He is going to come out to do a little more work like getting rid of some bushes and grinding up the stumps for me. He was punctual. He is out on every job. It is a small family business and he has two helpers. He is very professional and tells you exactly what he is going to do. If there are any problems, he is very good about coming back to correct it. So, I think that is very important in that kind of work. I would use his services again.

The work was done as described. They buried the downspouts at the corners of the house, extended a French drain out to the street, and put in a window well by the basement window to allow grading to slope away from the house. Unfortunately the solution didn't solve the problem entirely; water was still leaking through the basement wall after the work was finished, though water no longer pooled near the house after a rainstorm. Without a drain the window well created another drainage problem. I gave an overall grade of B because of this, and because of some perceived pressure to have other work done, and multiple requests to leave a check for the workers to pick up if I couldn't be home when the work was performed. I didn't want to pay before I saw the work was done satisfactorily. I took an extra day off work..

Fine. Crew adapted to one unforseen need and to my requests. Everyone was knowledgable, professional, courteous, spoke english. Had specialized knowledge in related systems (in-ground sprinklers).

Technically it went fine (good quality and done in a timely manner), although I paid significantly too much for the work. It took 3 guys 6 hours, which according to my calculation was between $90-110 per hour per person. This is way too much for this type of work and soured me to the experience. In their estimate, they had quoted 4 guys for multiple days. So cheers to them for getting it done in 40% of the estimated labor, but the estimate was far enough off from reality to make me feel taken. Shame on me for not getting more comparison estimates. I spoke with Andrew after the work and he indicated they would do some minor work for free when they came back in the spring to seed the areas that were dug up.

The installation of both items went well and work was performed within the time estimated. However, when I saw how little effort, material and time was required for this job, I felt we had been significantly overcharged. The rain barrel developed a leak at the faucet fitting and had to be replaced; Andrew was good to honor his product and work, but I had to make several follow-up phone calls to check on when this second rain barrel would be available and when this return service would be done.

They did an okay job, but then he came up with something to charge me extra money, which I really, really resented. Side yard was soggy, so we needed a way to channel that water. Put downspout and pump into a pop-up. Last minute, said the pop-up wouldn't work and needed to dig around it and add stone. Didn't do anything. I could have done it. Thought they were going to dig in 2-4 feet and add stone and what not, but they did not. Felt it was a last minute scam, to get more money. Really, just left a bad taste in my mouth.
