These guys know what they’re doing. Precise. Friendly. Fair. Strong & capable with all the right heavy equipment. Knowledgeable. Arrives EARLY at the job site. Excellent with my neighbors. Crew is completely professional and friendly. If they made a mess we never knew it b/c they cleaned up EVERYTHING before leaving our perfect driveway to cure. Love this company.

Coastal Concrete was very responsive to all requests and replied quickly to requests for quotes and with the quote. They scheduled the work within two weeks and completed the tearout and new concrete driveway within 2 days once they started. The job was complicated by trees and roots and they adjusted the location of the the driveway and sidewalk to accommodate these. They filled in the ground adjacent to the driveway and left it ready for any landscaping, but did not do landscaping, as they told us up front. The price was on the high end but their work was excellent quality and all interactions with their people were very professional.

My company had hired Coastal Concrete to pour a couple of slabs. They did a great job. The crew was very friendly and efficient. They had completed the job in the time frame, that we were told and their pricing was very reasonable. We will definitely recommend them to everyone!!

From my first call to Coastal Concrete Construction to come and review and provide a proposal to the wrap up of the job yesterday, every step was handled professionally and very thoroughly. we had some drainage/redirection of rainwater issues that made this more difficult than a standard demolish and replace. Other contractors declined the work due to this fact. To us, that states volumes about the experience, ability and confidence of this contractor that they were capable of handling our job and just about anything. We highly recommend Coastal Concrete Construction for any of your concrete and mixed media work.

Tony with coastal concrete was exceptional from the beginning to the end. He came out and gave me a quote we walked the property talked about different ideas and tactics. He came with a crew that were top notch very professional. Left my area clean done in a professional way. I would recommend them to anyone looking for concrete work. I will have them back for my next project.

Coastal Concrete Construction gave us a great price, showed up on time, with plenty of highly skilled labor. Tony is a very experienced concrete man and knew exactly how to join the new pour with the existing slab.

The project manager, Pete, was very professional and competent. He called me after I left a message with the company after calling the phone number provided by Angie's List, and he arrived on my property to inspect the site and give me an estimate. He gave me a ballpark estimate that day, and provided a written estimate in more detail via email in a reasonable time frame. When I replied that I wanted them to do the job, he replied back that he would call in the next couple of days to discuss their schedule. He said the job would take half a day, which surprised me. I got a call from Pete the next morning in which he told me that they had an opening in their schedule and they could do the job the following day starting first thing in the morning. Pete and the first crew member arrived at 8:00 the next morning and began measuring and cutting the driveway. By 8:30 a ten man crew was at my property with heavy equipment ready to get the job done. I rode home from my office at lunch time to check on what was going on, and they were already beginning to pour the cement. They were finished by 1:30 and headed out for their next job. The work site was immaculate when they left. They said not to drive on the the driveway for 7 days, and installed a "Caution" tape across the driveway. The written estimate that Pete provided was right on and I paid exactly what he quoted. Once the 7 days were up, my family held a "ribbon cutting" ceremony, and we have been blissfully using our fantastic new driveway without bouncing up and down and causing wear and tear on our car's suspensions! We love our new driveway, and would hire Coastal Concrete Construction for additional work in the future at the drop of a hat!!

The contractor that came out to make the repairs was prompt and was doing a great job.  The problem was that towards the end of the job, they never put up plastic or drop cloths to keep the concrete contained to the patio and a hard coastal storm hit.  The rain ruined the concrete and the contractor began screaming, yelling, cursing to the point that the resident of the apartment was afraid. <br /> We called the office to inform them of the inappropriate behavior of the service person and was told that someone would be there the next morning to make the repairs. <br /> If the contractor had put plastic up, it would have never been an issue.   <br /> The next morning a gentleman and the same contractor came out.  We informed them that we did not want the contractor that acted inappropriately the day before to make any repairs.  The resident of the affected apartment was afraid of him and we wanted a different person to do the work.  The gentleman himself said that the guy was his son, and if we wanted to see someone throw a fit, he would also and they didn't want our d*** $700! <br /> They did clean up the concrete that had spilled onto awnings, etc. and left.  We are now left with a patio that the resident can't use and we missed the deadline needed for the resident as well as we now have to find and pay for someone else to fix the mess left by Coastal Concrete Construction.   <br /> I would not recommend this group unless you want to deal with hairline tempers and extremely unprofessional-ism! <br /> <br /> <br />

We had some communication issues regarding schedule changes.  The schedule would change but they didn't let us know.  We had to stay on top of them to find out what was going on and make sure the work was completed.  When they were here, they did a great job!  We've gotten a lot of compliments on our driveway.  The guys were very friendly and easy to talk to.  We're learning that it is common for service providers in Charleston to be lacking in the communication department.

They showed up with an army! Responsive and professional not to mention so very kind to my family including our pup. The jobs were complete in two days in total. The first day the bulk of the work was completed - the next day was a drying out day since it was so cold and the weather was pretty iffy - the third day they completed the projected and cleaned up behind themselves. We will use CCC again and appreciate them fitting us into their schedule and making our backyard the start to something really cool.

<p>The bid was fine, but I was told, by the crew lead doing the job the estimator, under estimated the volume of concrete by 10 yards, and that I should consider paying for the delta, I stuck to the original bid. The finishers where very good, I did a "picture frame" trowel edge, and had 7/8 rebar dowels put into the existing concrete to allow the new stuff to tie in. I had a standard broom finish done. I also had a compactor to compact the soil. The only problem was the "bobcat" used to transfer the concrete undid most of the compaction. They had to get the compactor after they arrived on site, so there was some communication issues. I made sure the job was done in two steps, day one setup forms etc, day two do the actual pour. The Job Forman was highly experienced, and was effective in running the crew. Once the job was complete I noticed a crack on one part of my existing slab (non-structural) was created by driving the cement truck on the existing drive way (fiber mesh was entrained in the concrete). And there where depressions > 1/8  were noticed due to workers walking on the concrete after the float out was done, but before the edging/broom out was completed. I contacted the owner, and the Job Forman, and both where extremely responsive to get some feathering compound (Ardex) applied, (less then two weeks) from concern raised. I would had rated this job higher, had the details mentioned above (Ardex), been dealt with, by the finishers, but  I did not catch it, and the sun was setting creating shadows, which hid the imperfections. I was onsite the entire time both days. For communication issues, and this did allow most issues to be dealt with.</p>

We called for a quote at 9:00 am, rep was here four hours later. The crew was here two weeks later, three days before scheduled. Hard workers, polite, exceptional craftsmanship. This company exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend, would call again for any cement needs.

1) Drilling began on time, May 4th, with a five man crew.  <br /> <br /> 2) Middle of driveway was properly removed and discarded. New drainage system, with proper pitch, was installed. <br /> <br /> 3) 100 foot trench, about two-three feet deep, was dug next, from center of driveway, to property line in rear of the house. <br /> <br /> 4) Resurfacing (broom sweep) with new concrete was next completed. <br /> <br /> 5) Sidewalk entrance to the right of the driveway, was resurfaced. concrete slits were cut in our Curb Crete Concrete, in our flower bed area, for proper drainage. <br /> <br /> 6) Complete resurfacing and stain finish added to the front porch area. <br /> <br /> Coastal Concrete Construction was extremely efficient, organized and motivated. Tony, the owner, and his crew knew exactly what to do at each step of the way. We were told we could resume normal walking on the driveway by the following day - May 7th - but to let the drain area properly dure (with the newly added concrete), I was advised to spray the entire driveway daily for a one week period and refrain from driving cars onto the new drainage system. By next Tuesday, May 13th, we'll be able to return to normal driveway driving and parking. The new system looked excellent. It was properly pitched, beautifully balanced and a major improvement to our driveway. Note: while Coastal Concrete worked on our driveway, they received no less than four inquiries from neighbors passing by. That speaks volumes for Coastal Concrete Construction, in my book. I'm sure from those four, they received at least two new jobs. In a phrase the quality is there.

Tony was the 3rd or 4th quote we received to perform the work on our patio. After several weeks of headaches trying to get someone to come out to the house to quote, we made one call to Tony and he was at the house within a few hours (in between jobs). He gave us a quote on the spot and we met some of his crew that was with him that day. He's an Italian from the North and so are we, so naturally we clicked. Tony and his crew arrived several days after he quoted and when they said they would, performed the work to specifications and cleaned up after themselves. It's tough to find a concrete crew that leaves your house the way it was before they arrived! I highly recommend Tony at Coastal Concrete Construction. His prices were very reasonable and he was responsive to phone calls and text messages. Truly is a no BS kind of guy. Don't waste your time with the other people, heck I'm still waiting on quotes from companies that came by the house weeks before Tony came by. Go with a Yankee if you want the job done with urgency. He's thorough and very knowledgeable. Also does decorative concrete and pavers as well, but specializes in poured concrete.
