My dryer was only 2 years old when it stopped working.  Coldapplianceman came out and diagnosed the problem immediately, discussed my options and did the repairs needed.  Being that the dryer was relatively new, Coldapplinceman was going to contact the manufacturer to report the problem.  However, he did not have to as while making the repairs, he found that a snake had gotten into the motor and burned it out.   <br /> Repairs were made, area was cleaned up and clothes are happily being dried again. <br />

I was 100% satisfied with the services and highly recommend this company. <br />

We were pleased with their service. He didn't take credit cards, but he was willing to take a cheque. So that was good. We thought repaired the product the way it should be and we were pleased. We thought their prices were reasonable.

LG front load washing machine stopped working after trying to wash large area rug with "rubber" non-skid backing (DON'T do this. I tried to clean out drain, but the clog was too far back and too big for me to dislodge. Looked at appliance repair suggestions on Angie's List - Coldappliance was one of the first listed with all A ratings. Read some of the reivews and the 2nd review was from someone who had a similar problem with GE front load machine. Call Coldappliance and explained my problem and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Alan called that morning and asked if we could reschedue our appointment due t a medical issue and offered a discount on his service charge as compensation for rescheduling. When he arrived for the appointment knew exactly what was wrong, cleared the clog and made a couple of suggestions as to how to prevent some of the problems that sometimes occur with these machines due to soap residue and hard water build-up. The only charge was the discounted service call charge. Quite fair for what he did, especially when you consider what other servcie types charge simply to come to your home. Would definity recommend him and use him again when needed. <br />

Our fridge is 12 years old, and when the ice cream melted we panicked and thought we'd need a new one. But first we consulted Angie's List and chose Coldapplianceman Corporation to do our repair. Mr. Brown responded to our call immediately, but couldn't make it until the next day due to the lateness of the hour. We scheduled to be the first appointment of his day, 8:30am. Unfortunately, he had to wait for some parts and was delayed an hour. Once here, Mr. Brown was efficient, and after listening to me describe the problem, got to work diagnosing the problem. Functioning easily in a very tight space behind our refrigerator (Mr. Brown is not a small man), he quickly eliminated the dreaded compressor possibility and climbed out from behind. Next he checked the temperature control board, where he found the problem. Luckily, he had the part in his truck, which he installed and the fridge has been working great ever since. We would definitely call him again and have already recommended him to our neighbors. <br />

 Both my washer and dryer went out on the same day. Incredible. I spoke with Allan Brown of Cold Appliance to get things fixed. All I can say is Mr Brown should be called MR Gold because that's the sort of service he provided. He found the trouble with the washer in about 5 minutes and suggested we test the trouble with the dryer by disconnecting the vent, That didn't work so he returned and diagnosed the dryer trouble very quickly as well. He advised us that it was best to purchase a new dryer.  ( The old one was in  place when we bought the house seven years ago). He even suggested a no-frills brand. <br />    As a service to his customers, he has prepared a booklet on helpful maintenance tips for various appliances.  <br />    Very friendly and I was very satisfied with his fee. Thank you Allan   !!!!! <br />

Owner told me that it would cost around $700 to fix a bearing that went out in my front-loading GE (not very old) washing machine due to the very poor (inconsiderate) engineering design by GE and that I should rather use the $$$ to replace it at the store of my choice (with another brand) than have him repair it... Now THAT is honor in a business situation.  <br />

I called 7/3 Tues. morning and he was out that afternoon. The freezer stopped freezing food.   The refrigerator was no longer under warranty (3 years old). The repairman pulled out the refigerator and knew what he was looking for. It was a broken fan (plastic).  He had the replacement part on his truck (metal and much better quality).  With in hour everything was back to normal.  The repairman knew what he was doing.

Very professional and thorough job in fixing the refrigerator.  Impressed that he was able make it out the next day on a weekend.  Replacement part also had a 2 yr warranty on it.    Great job and great customer service!   Another satisfied customer.

Alan Brown is an excellent model of that old Yankee New England work ethic.  Highly recommend his company to all.

Excellent job with no complaints. <br /> Arrived on time the first day. <br /> Came back the second day with the part to install.

He was on time, knew what he was doing and doesn't charge overtime for Saturdays.  Not only that, after the refrigerator repair, he brushed and vacuum cleaned the heat exchanger on the bottom of the refrigerator.

My ice maker went on the blink..Cold Appliance came out and checked everything throughly,found the necessary parts and replaced them

I started laundry Saturday morning and then I heard the washer beeping - checking I found the washer was on but making noise as it tried to drain the water out in the spin cycle - I tried to open the door and found it was locked - so I turned it off - back on - still it would not unlock and would not spin - I tried another setting - same thing - turned it off - unplugged it - nothing would work - so my husband tried - nothing worked - went to Angie's list found Allan and gave him a call - he was going to be in the area on Sunday - YES SUNDAY - and said if I could wait til 3:00 he would come by - of course - then I asked what the service fee would be he said $84.00 plus parts if he had to order - I asked again what was the extra cost for Sunday - he told me just the $84.00 as quoted.  We tried the washer again - nothing - so we waited - Allan called us on Sunday at 2:00 and asked if he could come early - of course - out he came, went right to work - hooked up  his computer - didn't see anything wrong with the system - took of the back of the washer drained the water - unlocked the door so I could get the laundry out - then he started to work inside - turns out the drain inside the washer was clogged with sand (?) we don't go to the beach so I have no idea how that got in there.  The sand was so hard he thought it was a mechanical part - nope - sand - put the washer back together started it up - it runs like new!!  Gave me the bill - $84.00 - told us he also works on refrigerators if we need him.   Very nice - professional - friendly guy - we will keep his info and offer it to our friends!

Overall it was fine. One minor problem: He said I needed a new part eventually, and he would try and find one right away and would let me me know. There was no follow up phone call. He forgot his offer.

When my washer broke, I checked on the internet for a repairman and read the reviews. I called and he came out the next day as I requested. After he fixed the machine, he told me what to look for if there is a more major repair. He also stated that the washer should last me another 5 years. He gave me a few maintenance tips and only charged me for the call. He was very pleasant and he knew his business. I appreciated his honestly and the service call was very reasonable.
