Response from Colorado Bathrooms Inc
"We sent licensed sub contractors to their home and the [Removed Member Name] didn't like that they were sub contractors so they treated them badly. We are working to come to a resolution but the [Removed Member Name] left out a lot of the information here. These people added so much work to the job that was not in the scope of work and they didnt want to pay for the added and tried to have my guys do the work without the owner knowing about it, they also made it a hostile environment to work at and we mutually agreed to part ways and we agreed left all the products they selected in the garage with the building supplies and cancelled the contract because of the [Removed Member Name] wanting more work without paying for it and the way they treated the sub contractors. After doing over 300 homes per year, we will get one clinet like this about every year and we know we tried to do the right thing for them, but they are not a good client to work with. We are currently working with our attorney on this case. There are just some people that don't appreciate anything you do for them not mater if you gave it to them for free. We have over 300 happy clients each year.. this is not one fo them and there is nothing we can do with them now even after tying to make things right with them that we tried to do first with them."

Within three weeks all of the above work was completed. ....once the job started, work went quickly. Chris, the general contractor , frequently checked on my job and sincerely wanted to know how things were going. He didn't seem rushed and updated me at every meeting. The sub-contractors Chris hired were professional, friendly, arrived on time, worked full days and inspired my confidence. Jeremy Moore installed my floors and Michael and Nathan did the other work. All three are knowledgable and creative artisans. I've been recommending Colorado Bathrooms Inc to everyone and would definitely use them again! My "old" kitchen is located in my old house, so hopefully I'll be seeing them again soon!
The small project was completed the week of Dec 22 in 2 1/2 days and turned out fairly well. Please keep reading...I could go on and on, but I will just give the facts.

The main bath remodel started on Jan 4th due to holiday delay. Chris Ford, the president of the company "managed" subcontractors to do the work. At day 7, he fired the first sub for a variety of reasons including the work was not moving fast enough. The second sub was also slow though his work was of better quality. He was fired by Chris Ford on the 14th day of work. This firing happened in my front yard and then in my living room where a very heated argument ensued. I found myself stuck between the two men (sitting in my wheelchair) raising my arms and asking for them to take a break to cool down. Though I said this multiple times, I was completely ignored. Chris stormed out of my home saying he could not deal with this sub. I asked for a phone call when he cooled down. This did not happen. He cancelled the contract by email later that day. He justified his cancellation creating dialogue and a false story that I had voided the contract. I had no intention of cancelling anything. I just wanted the job completed. I was fired too!

I was left with a bath remodel 50% complete and had paid over $16K at this point. I believe Chris Ford was losing money on this job and wanted out of the contract. I believe he created a story to justify his unprofessional behavior. To top it all off, Chris demanded that I pay an additional $2781 to get the final custom pieces that he had stored at his warehouse! I had to pay the money a few weeks later in order get those custom pieces. Bottom line is I paid CO Bathrooms a total of $19,125 for a job which was not managed well at all in 17 days leaving the job 50% complete - no tile, roughed in electric, no plumbing, several custom pieces unaccounted for - unfinished and unsafe.

I had to hire another company, a licensed plumber and licensed electrician to come and finish the work. ?The electrician who completed the work weeks later had to undo an unsafe electrical situation which would have caused a fire - wrong can enclosure for the heat lamp. And, he could not believe CO Bathrooms did not hire a licensed electrician or pull permits. He had to run a new line from the box to make it safe.I am thousands over budget and I am finding more about CO Bathrooms foul practices. They did not pull permits saying they were "exchanging like for like". I have since found out permits should have been pulled from the city of Lakewood. It was not like for like with the drain being moved and the electric situation. I also have found out that Chris Ford does not have any contractor license in Denver, Boulder or Lakewood. Hence he cannot pull permits! He has no contractor license that I can find at all. He is passing off his state incorporation number as a license - totally fraudulent in my opinion. In addition, Chris Ford (manages subs) and Gene Denton (sales person) represented each other as partners. I signed the contract with Gene Denton who was no where to be found when this project went sour. He did not even return my phone call or emails! I doubt they are partners at this point.
This was my first experience with a remodel company and I regret using CO Bathrooms Inc. I feel I was bullied and played. I would take them to court if I had the energy and health. Please avoid this company!!

"This was resolved with the homeowner and is not as described, but we did make things right for her. I had a subcontractor that was not doing the quality of work needed and wanted to make changes to the job and get another team to finish the job for her, but she refused to let me and has made up stories to try to hurt us. I did make things right by her."

Chris'screw, were very courteous and considerate. They made sure the job was done property even if it was not amended in the contract and cost more. Small things, they did not charge for larger issues. We consulted.
