It all went well.

Every time he comes, we have 7 computers and he checks and updates everything and fixes everything that others couldn't fix. he configures the whole network in the house to make sure that all our computer are all hooked up and communicating with the network. he is clean, careful, and very professional with his work. We couldn't find anyone as competent as Mr. Caughman. He pricing is honest and reasonable.

I have hired Chip Caughman (Complete Computer Service) on multiple occasions. Until recently, he seemed competent and reliable. I hired Chip to upgrade my laptop computer with additional RAM. He said he needed to take it to his shop for the work. He later called to say that he had broken the laptop – it no longer operated and couldn’t be repaired. He said that he would buy me a new laptop, and I accepted this offer. A direct quote from Chip from one of several emails that confirm this agreement: “Just let me know once you pick a laptop and I’ll pick it up or order it so I can pay for it.” We then agreed that, for convenience, I would buy it and Chip would reimburse me. Chip emailed: “It’s fine if you want to purchase it and I’ll reimburse you.” I even offered to pay him for configuring it if that exceeded my time spent researching, purchasing, and doing initial setup. I emailed Chip, informed him that I’d bought the replacement PC, and requested that he reimburse me as agreed. Over the next several months I sent approximately 10 friendly emails, texts and voice mails, requesting that he reimburse me. Chip did not respond to any of my communications. Chip never returned the “broken” laptop to me. At this point it is clear that Chip deliberately refuses to repay me, as he agreed to do, for the computer that replaced the one that he broke. Obviously, this amounts to fraud. I urge members to be very cautious when considering hiring Chip Caughman. Consider that this is a person who comes to your home or office and gains access to all of your confidential and sensitive information on your computer. It is exceptionally erratic and unstable behavior to blatantly defraud a customer when your entire business model depends on gaining and keeping the complete trust of customers and prospects. Consider the risks that such disordered thinking might expose you to. It appears from Angie’s List reviews that Chip remains actively in business, with mostly positive reviews. It may be notable that the majority of his F reviews are from 2017 and 2018. Chip was once a trusted service provider. Sadly, that has changed.

Chip was fantastic. He went above and beyond to help us out in a crisis. He was flexible and willing to work around our odd hours of availability.

Chip came to our place of business and ran a program on all our laptops to get the necessary data to make an IT assessment. We paid him for his service. Since then he hasn't returned multiple phone calls or emails and we never received his final assessment or recommendations. Up to that point when he came for the site survey, Chip was great. But since then has gone AWOL on us for no apparent reason that we are aware of. We are baffled.

Chris spent the time it took to revive the 2 and speed up the sluggish ones. He had to run some diagnostic programs and while they were running he worked on the others so there was no downtime of wait time- he was working the whole time. He stayed until the problems were solved; he didn't give up on even the oldest ones. He advised us before he undertook some of the work so we could determine if one of the older computers was worth fixing. He is thoroughly professional and exceptionally competent; by far the best we've ever experienced.

Chip was punctual and pleasant. It took him less then 10 minutes to figure out what was wrong with the unit. It had a hidden fan that was inundated with tons of cat hair and other stuff. Since it was on the bottom of the case and hidden from view by other parts, we did not even check that location on our own.Once it was cleaned out by Chip it worked wonderfully. 14 hours after he left the unit was still on working beautifully. In the weeks since his visit, the desktop has no further issues. He did charge us his transportation/visit charge, but did not charge us anything additional fees. If we have further computer issues, I would not hesitate to contact Chip and have him come back to have him assist us.

After a storm, I no longer had wifi connectivity. After literally hours wasted on the phone with time warner cable agents, I contacted Chip and in a brief but thorough telephone conversation, he walked me through and discovered the problem. After diagnosing my router as no longer working, he helped me determine the best router to buy and helped guide me through the set up, all in one afternoon without a visit and a very reasonable charge. He is very accessible and responsive, efficient, knowledgeable, is able to explain things to a layman like myself and is cost aware.

Chip was professional and knowledgeable. He helped me understand all of the options I had to fix the issues I was facing. Price was very reasonable (price given below is for 2 separate on-site visits) and I we had a couple of follow-up calls for which he did not charge me extra for. Overall excellent service.

The crash was a hardware problem (failed power supply). The second crash was a software problem (Windows 10 update problem). Chip was able to come within a day or two of being called and fixed both problems. He knows his stuff (he in fact guessed what the issues were before he showed up).

Ed Scott did an amazing job. Our small business relies on QuickBooks for daily work, invoicing, etc. Having the hard drive crash suddenly was a real problem! After reading his excellent reviews on Angie's List, we gave him a call. After many hours of diligent work on his part, the computer was completely fixed. He installed a new hard drive and he painstakingly retrieved thousands of files, pictures, and QuickBooks data that we very much needed! At our request, he also installed a backup device and taught us how to use it. He is very experienced, very kind and professional in interactions, and competitively priced. We are definitely hiring him for more work in the future.

It went perfectly. Chip was responsive, on time, friendly and very knowledgeable. It was all done remotely, so I did some chores around the house while he was tending to my PC. Our appointment time was for 2:00 and he called at that very minute to begin working. It took about 90 minutes. Very smooth with no surprises!

Chip was really responsive to my emails. Easy to schedule with and performed a complete scan of my computer, removed some adware, helped clean it up so it will run faster and gave me some tips for other things I could do on my own. I'm really happy with the outcome.
