Concrete Patios Unlimited

Leslie and his team installed a 12'x15' patio cover and 12'x26' stamped concrete patio to replace the original 10'x10' pad behind our house. Leslie's quote was highly competitive and allowed us to complete the project much faster than any of the larger companies could offer. The work was completed in two stages, and Leslie communicated what to expect the entire time, from the initial samples to the finished build. He checked up on the project through each stage to ensure the work was performed to our satisfaction. I highly recommend working with Leslie and would hire him again without hesitation.

GREAT! I got a couple of quotes, and Leslie's was the best quote. One might be afraid that if it is too cheap it might not be good. But, clearly it was a professional job. It was poured like a foundation, with steel rebar. Like a driveway, it has a seam for preventing cracks. But, he used hardyplank instead of typical wood. Slightly slanted for rain runoff, but not visibly so. First day, the majority of the work was done. It was framed, poured, and colored. The second day, it was refined and sealed. Area was pressure washed. I gave him a B for punctualness because he came a day later than originally planned. But honestly that was no big deal at all. I should actually give him all A's. My wife loves it. I love it. 350 sq feet, $4400.

We were extremely pleased with the job. The crew were very efficient, polite and professional. The job was done on time and it exactly met our wishes. The match with the pebble finish of the main driveway was very good and the new path addressed our drainage issues. We would highly recommend Concrete Patios for such work.

Mr. Massingill and his very professional crew did an outstanding job for me. Mr. Massingill showed up exactly when he said he would and his crews came two days later right on schedule. The job was completed in one day (to my amazement) and the job site cleaned up before they left. They even helped with spreading some of the dirt in my yard low spots without any additional charge. The crew was extremely friendly, even after the neighbors dog ran through the wet cement after they just got through smoothing. The guys did not even bat an eye and repaired the dog tracks laughing the whole time about how upset I had gotten. It seemed all in a days work for them and no big deal. Mr. Massingill and his team will be doing a lot more work for me going forward. I intend to use him for by Kitchen and Bathroom remodel projects coming up next spring. Just so you know, Mr. Massingill managed all this the same day his wife was in surgery for a major operation. I did not know this until the morning everything started and Mr. Massingill was on site. I immediately had to run him off to go to the hospital, trust me, the crew does just fine without him. What a pleasant experience and my driveway work looks great. Just what I wanted at an extremely fair price. If you want professional and extremely good work, this is your man.

Leslie did first-quality work. He's hands on and listens to what you want and works with you to make it happen. They protected the landscaping, and cleaned up each day before leaving. The work was worth every penny we invested in it. I absolutely recommend using Leslie for your concrete needs.

This is the best contracting experience I have ever had! Leslie and his expert craftsmen were great. They built my patio enclosure in only one weekend, followed by interior sheetrocking and painting the following week. Leslie was there every single day and kept in regular communication with me by cell phone. He was incredible in ensuring that I was satisfied with the final result. This was such a great experience, with an attentive contractor, excellent work, quickly done, great price. I highly recommend Leslie for any work you need done with a patio or enclosure.

Leslie came out and gave us an estimate very quickly. His estimate was one of the most reasonable that we received. He was always very professional and polite, as was his crew. They did a fantastic job redoing the concrete and siding as well as the recessed lights. They were also incredibly efficient and stuck to the timelines that were originally offered. From the beginning Leslie Massingill exhibited strong knowlege and experience not only of concrete construction but also the stamping process since this was what was going to be required under our small subdivision restrictions.  He was not only knowledgeable, but very responsive to let me know  how the job was progressing and addressed promptly the couple of concerns I had through the process and completion.  The crew performing the work were artisans in the concrete stamping process and very professional.  The finished product looks terrific.

It was easy to arrange for a quote.  Mr. Leslie Massingill (Concrete Patios Unlimited) arrived on time to perform the necessary take-off.  He thoroughly explained the methods and materials he planned to use.  I provided a sketch and written scope of work which we discussed and exchanged ideas.  Withing 48 hours I received a written proposal by email.   <br /> Although Leslie's proposal was not the lowest bid I received, it was competitive and I felt much more confident of a positive outcome using Concrete Patios Unlimited. <br />

We requested quotes from three "A-Rated" Angie's List concrete contractors and were pleased with all three.  Leslie Massingill however impressed my husband and me in two specific areas.  First, his quote was firm with no possibility of additional monies needed for unforeseen problems.  Second, he did not offer to "patch for free" a broken triangular portion toward the top of the repair, but intended to include that small section as additional footage in a straight-line cut for a clean look.  His quote was not the lowest, but it was guaranteed.  (Had we been charged "additional monies", by the other contractor, Concrete Patios Unlimited may have ended up being the lowest!) <br /> Leslie Massingill and I talked for over an hour during his first visit.  I liked him very much.  I liked the other two companies as well, but Leslie's quiet, unassuming manner gave me confidence in what he was telling me.  I asked two of the contractors if they would be willing to return on that Saturday to speak with my husband, and each readily agreed.  After talking with one in the morning and one in the afternoon, my husband felt as I did.  He wanted to use Concrete Patios Unlimited.  <br /> Leslie carefully explained to us how the work would proceed and what we could expect.  He delivered in every way!   Leslie was out-of-town the week before our work was scheduled, but he stayed in touch with me by phone (as other reviewers also noted).  Unsure whether he would be able to back early the next  Monday morning, he called me to say he was sending his trusted, long-time supervisor over to look at the job and the supervisor would be on-site with the crew.  The supervisor showed up exactly when Leslie said he would, and my husband and I were impressed by his knowledge and the apparently seamless communication between him and Leslie. <br /> Work began early Monday morning January 25th.  As I walked outside to say good bye to my husband on his way to work, we were both greeted by a bevy of friendly, smiling workers.  There were so many of them it reminded me of the fantastic service at a Chick-Fil-A or HEB simply because there are so many employees!!  :-)  <br /> They were all wonderful, cheerful, and incredibly hard working!  I didn't want to be a pest, so I waited until the afternoon to go outside and look. The concrete truck had arrived, and I had always wanted to watch one up close.  Oh my gosh!  The progress!  The broken concrete was gone, a pile of tree roots on our front garden path stretched nearly halfway up the house (we have a one-story) and the rebar was laid. And, I have to say, the supervisor was working as hard as any of them!  <br /> The chute on the truck began disgorging its concrete slurry alternately into two wheelbarrows which were then rolled up the driveway to the starting point.  I began videoing the process, as I knew my husband would have loved to have been there.  It was literally a ballet of timing, skill, and experience, which was fascinating to watch.  The workers were tired, but they were still smiling.  I could tell they took great pride in their work. <br /> The men, under the supervisor's instructions, poured, evened, smoothed, and massaged the surface until it looked like a warehouse floor!  It was late in the day when they were done, but goodness; they were finished!  Two upright rebar rods on either side of the driveway entrance, with pink tape stretched between them, guarded our wet cement.  Leslie stopped by while they were "polishing" that gorgeous surface and asked me if I was pleased.  I most certainly was!  I gave him a check for half of the total cost, and he said the tree roots would be cleaned up on Tuesday the 26th.  He would be by in the afternoon to pick up the remaining payment and be sure we were completely satisfied. <br /> On Tuesday, two of his crew came by, removed the tree roots, replaced the lawn grass at the edge of the new concrete, tidied up the entire area and left.  When Leslie stopped by, He reminded me of his instructions for "care" of the new concrete for three days.    I told him every "A" review had been exactly right and that mine would be forthcoming. (It has taken me two weeks to write this, but the delay has been due to personal schedules.)  <br /> Concrete Patios Unlimited was a positive experience in every way!  Leslie's company operates as a general contractor, able to perform a variety of work, and there are a number of other improvements that we would like to make over the next year or two.  We feel totally comfortable with Leslie's integrity and quality of work.  We will be calling him again soon! <br /> <br /> <br />

Leslie was a joy to work with. He gave very detailed explanation of what the work would encompass and how much time it would take. He was very responsive to our concerns. I would highly recommend him. Plus, he's a great guy!

Leslie was very helpful with our backyard plans. He was very knowledgeable in his field and easy to work with. His crew is very efficient. One day to prep area and set forms, then adjust forms per our request & set rebar. One day to pour(using wheelbarrows), color, & stamp concrete. One day to remove forms, clean surface, dry, & seal coat. We will use Leslie/CPU again! <br />

Leslie did a great job in and out in 2 days, one for demo and pour the next.  Leslie was great about explaining everything that he was going to do, <br />

<p>Leslie was punctual in arriving to give me a bid.  I already had one bid that seemed too high.  Leslie's was more reasonable, and I figured out that the first contractor exaggerated the square footage.  Leslie's square footage estimate matched mine.  </p> <p>His crew was courteous and hard working.  One thing that impressed me was that he had a crew large enough to do the job.  This job required breaking out and hauling off the old concrete, grinding and removing tree roots, and adjusting the slope of the driveway which had originally been poured too steeply.   Everything went exactly as he promised, and the final result was perfect.  We actually had neighbors coming over to admire the work.</p> <p>I'm very careful when it comes to selecting contractors.  I made an excellent choice with Leslie.  I have other work that will need to be done in the future and won't hesitate to hire Concrete Patios Unlimited do to it.</p> <br />

Great!  Leslie came out first to look over the project, then emailed a detailed proposal (no one else did that).  After I agreed, he came back to look over the scope of the job, answering all my questions about concrete, and I had many.   Then the day before the job was to be done, he sent his guy Jose out who was actually going to do the work.   The job was completed in one day without any problems, the crew was on time, moved furniture, did an outstanding job of leveling & finishing the floor.  I could not have asked for a better job.  I had interviewed about half dozen other contractors, but Leslie won me over with his long history of knowledge about the characteristics of concrete and how it behaves under so many different conditions.  He was professional, yet down to earth.  I highly recommend him. <br />

<p>Overall a great experience from the get go. Meeting and working with Leslie was a real pleasure, he is extremely professional and has a great crew. He was able to start within a week's notice which was fantastic and allowed us to have our son's birthday party outside the following week. One of his field managers came a few days earlier to assess the location and help choose the stamped concrete color to match the house brick color.</p> <p>On the scheduled date Leslie came to get the work started on time, his crew was courteous and experienced, they knew exactly what they were doing, very efficient and helped relocate the sod to another part of the backyard. Sod was higher than existing patio that was being extended, so a lot of soil had to be removed. They had to come back to haul out the excess soil and they did as promised. </p> <p>Concrete truck arrived around noon and the framing was already complete. They applied a significant amount or rebar, tied to the house and existing patio, very strong for a patio. The stamped concrete looks great, very well done.</p> <p>We couldn't be happier with our new patio, so glad we choose to work with Leslie, highly recommended!</p> <br />

Concrete Patios Unlimited was very price competitive which was one of the reasons we selected them.  Owner, Leslie Massingill, is lovely to work with - very responsive and professional.  He also takes pride in his work (you can tell).  They did an excellent job replacing the broken driveway and walkway but the grading from the driveway to the street was too steep (caused my car to scrape the bottom).  Leslie replaced that portion of the driveway quickly and without questions, ensuring that we were satisfied.  I was very happy with his work but his crew was a bit sloppy in their cleanup.  They broke off a piece of wood of the frame surrounding the garage, made a small hole in the concrete floor of the garage, stained the ground by the back door and tore up grass along the driveway.  When I pointed these things out to Leslie he fixed them (except for the hold in the garage door floor) but it took a few weeks.  My only suggestion is to do a thorough check of your property after the job is complete and make sure it's left in good order.  I think Leslie does a good job but some of his workers should take more care. <br />

From start to finish Leslie managed every concern and detail we had about the daunting task of tearing out our old pool deck and driveway. He helped us with color selection and design as well as the drain issues we wanted to correct in our backyard and driveway. It is a process that took patience and expertise. We couldn't have ask for any better result. The men who did the stamped concrete were perfectionist even in 100 degree heat!! The whole crew is worth waiting for. We wouldn't have put this monumental task off for so long if we had known about Leslie. Thank you Angie's list members who spoke so highly of this company! Leslie and his teams have given us the pool deck and driveway we have been dreaming of for years! <br />
