Conklin's Tree Service

They were apparently hired by my neighbors to trim shrubs. Upon their arrival I allowed them to park on my property, although they did so without asking. Shortly after I pointed out a bird's nest in the shrub they were trimming and asked them to not bother it and was told that they would not. I returned 20 minutes later to find all of the shrubs along my property line trimmed on my side. At this point I also noticed that they cut down the bird's nest and crushed the eggs. When I asked them why they were on my side, trimming on my property, I was told by Jamie, the owner, because my neighbor asked them to... Why would you trim on someone else's property without making contact with the property owner? At this point I also noticed that they had thrown all of the limbs that they cut in my front yard prior to putting them through the chipper. Overall completely unprofessional and disrespectful, if you're looking for a quality job choose someone else.

They were very professional and friendly.  They cut our tree down with no problems.  The only minor drawback was that they came on Wednesday, 9/25/2013 and weren't able to cut the tree down due to bees.  The owner, Jaime, said he would be back on Thursday with bee spray.  He called me on Thursday and said that he was stuck at this one job but he would try to get to my house early evening.  That afternoon, we decided that he would come on Friday, 9/27/2013 instead since the job he was on was taking the entire day.  Jaime was very apologetic about the delay, which I appreciated.  I understand that in life things happen that are out of our control. <br /> I would recommend Conklin's.  Their prices are very fair and honest.  We had another estimate that was three times as much as Conklin's. <br />

Due to the size of the property, we had to break it down in phases.  While he was responsive to the initial visit, I have not heard back on phase two.  Will have to follow up when we are ready. <br />

Jamie was very responsive in returning calls and showing up when he said he would. He came by as scheduled to survey the trees in question and to provide a written estimate. His quote was substantially lower than another tree service from which we had gotten an estimate. On the appointed day, Jamie and his crew of two arrived promptly first thing in the morning. They took care to put wooden slabs under the truck's stabilizer jacks to minimize the impression that would be left on my lawn. While one worker made quick work of the fallen tree, another began to cut the standing dead tree from the truck's bucket, working from the top down. They then carefully felled the last segment of the trunk and put all the cut up logs into their truck. All remaining scraps were raked up to my satisfaction. All three men worked diligently throughout the job. There was occasional good-natured ribbing between them, but no loafing around whatsoever; as other reviewers have commented, these guys aren't afraid of work. They got down to the job and were done in under an hour and a half. I would not hesitate to use Conklin Tree Service again. <br />

Conklin came on short notice to remove a tree that was severely damaged after Hurricane Sandy. They came prepared, on time, and performed professional quality work. Would definitely recommend them. <br />

They did a great job! They were very courteous, prompt, and efficient.

<p>AWESOME!!!!!!  I called 3 for estimates, Jay was the only one on time to give an estimate.  I had 14 trees that needed to be removed because they were damaging the roof, and preventing the grass from growing.  </p> The other 2 estimates were extremely overpriced, as if they didn't want the job, but Jay was extremely lower, plus I was impressed that he showed up on time for the estimate.   When he showed up for work he brought a convoy with him.  These were young guys who didn't waste no time bring the trees down.  I did think they were crazy the way they were hanging in the trees cutting the branches and lowering them to the ground.These were hard working guys, who did a wonderful professional job, and the trees that have around my house now, I plan on using Conklin Tree Service to keep them pruned.  You won't be sorry.

Jaime was waay more prompt and reliable than most of the other workers I've had experiences with since moving to this region. He is young and WANTS to work. <br /> <br /> Jaime and his friends QUICKLY did this job. <br /> <br /> They were subsequently hired by a neighbor and took down a MONSTER tree that had already split a bit-- that was leaning into their house, growing thru wires. Everyone in the neighborhood watched as Jaime and his friends took down this HUGE tree bit by bit. Efficiently and inexpensively. <br /> <br /> That day, two MORE neighbors hired him!
