Long list of issues which were resolved eventually by contractor after multiple attempts to get the work fixed will go without detail. The recurring nightmare is as follows:
While passing tiles through our bathroom window to the guys outside who were cutting them to size, John (the owner) dropped a tile on our brand new, newly installed, tiled in bathtub. They then proceeded to attempt to hide the damage by very quickly installing the bottom rail for the glass door over the chip. I thought it was strange that the rails would have been installed before the tile work was completed in the rest of the room. I saw that the caulking looked sloppy along the rail and realized there was something wrong with the tub. When asked, the work crew explained what happened and we were very understanding but annoyed that they tried to hide the fact that the owner damaged my brand new tub. We were assured by the work crew that we wouldn't be able to see the chip (2"X1") which they "repaired" with porcelain repair epoxy from the hardware store and caulking. When my husband spoke with the work manager, Lloyd, he assured my husband that the repair would be sufficient and that if we wanted to remove the glass door to use a shower curtain and the chip was exposed or if there was a problem with the repair, we had five years to have them make it right. In the meantime, I noticed that the overflow drain was rusting. I took that apart, noticing that the grommet was broken, and saw that the porcelain around the overflow opening was cracked and rusting. I emailed photos to American Standard who stated that it was an installation issue in that the overflow cover was over-tightened, causing micro-fissures in the porcelain. Remembering that the grommet was broken in half, that made sense but I really didn't want to fight with the contractor as all of our post-installation repair requests were stressful, so I "repaired" it the best I could. This summer I noticed that something "bad and ugly" was happening beneath the bottom rail for the glass door. Took off the rail and behold, the chip repair was compromised and rusting terribly. I also noticed that they never bothered to grout the space where the tub meets the wall tile at the seam of the glass door rails on either end of the tub! Seriously?? So now we had to purchase a spring loaded curtain rod, hooks, and a curtain, and we were concerned about water from the shower infiltrating the gaping holes where grout should have been. We informed the contractor by phone and eventually via email and informed them of the overflow issue and forwarded the email from American Standard. Lots more back and forth after they fixed the grout and they contacted Miracle Method in to repair the tub. Miracle Method looked at both the chip and the overflow, stated they would not be able to match the color and recommended a complete refinish for the entire tub, agreeing that the overflow was likely caused by installation. The contractor only felt the chip should be repaired and that the rest of the damage was "normal wear and tear" and blamed the overflow on the manufacturer stating "I will take the word of over 100 years of plumbing experience over anything some corporate stooge told you." Miracle Method tried to assure us that CARE was a reputable company but we had enough experience to think otherwise and continued to request that the entire tub be resurfaced. We didn't feel we were being unreasonable in asking that a brand new tub that they damaged be repaired to make it like brand new. Once Andy (owner of Miracle Method) realized that CARE had damaged our new tub and tried to hide it, he said that it would be handled. I assume there was a conversation with John from CARE because I promptly received a lengthy, rambling email from John that stated, among many other very nasty things, that "I will do it because I am a man, I don't try to get over on people." He also stated in the email that "I am going way over the top in what I am doing. How a tiny chip that is almost entirely covered with the shower door costs me $600. I don't know. You guys must be rich and a $400 difference isn't a big deal....I am just amazed that you guys feel I need to redo your entire tub. I now know what type of customer I am dealing with. They want a bunch of free stuff because of their inconvenience. It will be handled, I hope all things work out for you. I know I am acting with honor. My conscious is clear." Our tub was entirely resurfaced in October. HE NEVER PAID MIRACLE METHOD FOR THEIR WORK!!! Not only did he try to hide the damage, he tried to make us feel guilty for it and then did not pay the person he contracted to repair the work. My definition of a "man" is different. We liked the work crews from CARE but the owner's behavior ruined the entire experience. We did not want to write a review because we feared retribution and were concerned that if we did the contractor would not pay Miracle Method, which CARE didn't do anyway. Miracle Method did an excellent job and gave us no grief!

Quality of work is excellent. Two guys spent 3 hours doing various things at my home (hung a stairwell banister, fixed door weather stripping, replanted small tree that had uprooted, pulled weeds, cleaned gutters).

A few complaints:

1. Supposed to be 8 hours worth of work; they showed up 1 hour late and stayed for 3 hours

2. Poor communication with company

--Owner stated he had more Big Deals purchased then expected so company was behind in fulfilling work

--Attempted (on multiple) occasions to schedule 8 hours of work

--Owner of company came to my home same day as 8hrs of work performed and gave me estimate for other work

---Estimate emailed to me within one week but was not very detailed (no breakdown between materials and labor)

--Requested detailed estimate but never received

Parts of it went really well and other not so much. The flooring and access door were acceptable, they meant well and did a decent job and the price was very fair. The problem came in 2 areas. 1 - we had a deadline of having the stair fixed before a party and they new this ahead of time and missed it completely, I called several times that week and got no response. They later apologized and fixed the step (after the party). One minor issue, on the attic drop down access, one of the boards they attached to the frames with nails (should have been screwed in) came loose and broke off and I had to fix it.
I had an ice dam and called John, the owner. He sent out his assistants that day (after dark yet!) who cleared off the snow and ice, and placed a tarp until they could come back and fix the problem. They repaired the damage and then installed heated cables with a thermostat and humidistat to eliminate the ice build up in the future.
I have used this contractor before for MANY projects and have always been extremely pleased with his professionalism and responsiveness. His prices are always extremely reasonable and he stands behind his work. He is reliable and keeps me informed every step of the way.
I HIGHLY recommend him and his company.
I have had Construction and Remodeling Experts do work for me in the past and have always been more than satisfied.. In the Fall I was selling a rental home which they had worked on before. I found that I needed the basement waterprofed, another contractor wanted to dig around the foundation and charge me a lot of money. Mr John Deel came out an said because of all the heavy rain, it was just leaking a little bit, they waterproofed my basement with a couple coats of waterproof paint, that corrected the problem an saved me about 5,500$ . I had them put some siding and a new roof and gutters on the garage with what I saved. They did a fantastic job, I sold the home about two weeks after they completed the work. They were always on time, tried to advise me the best ways to save money. They were neat and always cleaned up each day two of my neighbors were so impressed with the workmanship that they also got new roofs. I would recommend this company all day long to anyone in need of any kind of home remodeling. They are honest and fair in pricing..

The results looked great and the project was exactly on budget. I did, however, have to call them back several times to repair first a toilet leak and then a shower leak. They were perfectly willing to make the repairs but only as it fit their schedule which dragged out the process considerably. The project took longer than expected in part because one subcontractor in particular typically showed up late and left early. These guys do good work which they have stood behind without argument, but they basically have too many projects going at a time to provide top quality work up front and responsive customer service after the fact.
They arrived promptly, introduced themselves and started to work. The supervisor wanted to go over the project list that I had. As each task was completed, I was asked to inspect. All went well with exception to the hot & cold being reversed on the kitchen faucet and the mineral spirits spilled on the kitchen floor. The kitchen faucet was cheerfully corrected and the spill wiped-up. I have since cleaned the kitchen floor and happy to say that I haven't noticed any damage.
They did a great job. Very professional and left job site clean. They actually gave me a little more man hours just to get done what needed to be. They probably didnt make any money on this deal putting doors in I had already but its one of those Angies list deals to generate business. I intend to use them in the future for installing 5 more interior doors and some outside services.
The drywall repair and painting were done very well and the painter was very nice. However, he talked a lot, and the talking was on my time. The painter was late to arrive a couple of times.
CARE sent excellent carpenters to install a mirrored closet door. They custom framed a wide opening to fit standard size sliding doors of our choosing. The work quality is excellent, and the communication was superb. We have done a LOT of work like this ourselves, and we are attentive to detail. The doors are framed solidly and they glide smoothly. Pete left a perfectly clean workplace, as well. Thank you, John, Amy, and Pete!

Most of the work needed was plumbing and electrical. The electrician was great and completed all work well. We were supposed to have a plumber, but did not..so one job of installing a new shower valve was left undone. Since they spent more time than expected, we did not complain. Miscellaneous jobs of reattaching shutters, minor wall patching, etc. were done also by other contractors there at that time. They were all great and completed most everything on our list. One of them recaulked our shower, and when I cleaned the shower 4 days later, it all just "washed" away....not sure what he used. I will redo that myself. All in all, they were great and completed alot.

The contractor came to look at our project promptly after we contacted him through Angie's List. He made some suggestions and scheduled a carpenter. The carpenter made additional suggestions and the end result was two great looking sets of shelves in our kitchen that nicely compliment the existing cabinetry. The carpenter worked quickly and frequently cleaned up his work area throughout the day since we had to use the kitchen a couple times.
I have asked this contractor for a quote on a second project and have a third one that I will discuss with him.
Overall, we are very pleased with this first project and I would recommend him to others.

The whole experience was excellent. CARE responded promptly to my request for an estimate, and once I selected them to do the work, the project commenced within a couple of weeks. Both projects were completed in about two weeks and were done well. All the workers that were involved with the project were professional and polite. Since this was work going on in an occupied house, they were very careful to clean up each day and work with the least disruption as possible. The projects both turned out as expected and the cost was exactly as quoted, even though some minor changes and additions were made along the way.

There was one problem after the fact, where the dirt that backfilled the pre-cast concrete steps settled significantly over the winter, not only leaving a hole, but allowing rain drainage to enter the basement. CARE set a crew of three and a delivery of dirt to fill in the settling, re-seal the complete doorway, and design and install a better drainage solution around the stairs. This was all done nine months after the original work, and at no additional cost to us.

Overall I can't say enough good things about our experience with CARE. I certainly would recommend them to anybody.

Four guys from CARE showed up at the agreed time and immediately got to work. All of the jobs, including clean-up were completed in 1.5 hours. The new stairs look great, as well as the repairs to the bay window. The guys were courteous and completed everything to my satisfaction. I will definitely use them again for any new projects.
This was a home improvement project that was started in 2009 by a company located in Macedonia. They took my payments, filed bankruptcy, and left me with a bare structure full of defective workmanship.
I am glad I found Mr. Deel (Construction and Remodeling Experts, LLC) to complete this project.
With my budget already short and with the mounting costs of fighting through legal actions, I am glad I was able to complete the project in stages with them which very few are willing to do and deal with the defective workmanship left behind by the previous contractor. This would not have been possible if not for the understanding, flexibility and cooperation of Mr. Deel.

I was very satisfied with their workmanship, and most important of all, I had peace of mind during the time they worked to complete
the project. To me, they were God sent angels.

The roof came off & was put on pretty quickly and looked great. The cleanup was excellent. The gutters/fascia took quite a bit longer than expected but in their defense the workers mentioned that the old gutter/fascia was nailed in about every 6 inches so it took them a lot of time/effort to get them down. Overall the work was good but there were a couple of portions that were bent. I told Mick & someone was there the next day to replace them, no questions asked. The only issue I had with the whole job was that the gutter/siding guys could have cleaned up a little bit better after the job. Overall I think they did a great job, especially considering the cost, all the work that was done & how great my house looks now!
