As a PhD student with limited knowledge of evaporative cooling systems, I knew to consult Angie's List for the best and most professional service provider in my area.  Ivan was responsive, efficient and explained what was needed for our two cooling systems, but when it was time for payment Ivan requested that he be paid in cash.  I do not know many individuals that keep $200 around their home (especially a student!); however, my husband was able to make a quick run to the bank to withdraw the amount needed.  I found the process of requesting cash payment rather odd in our current technological environment.  Additionally, it is peculiar and unprofessional for a vendor to list that he accepts payment by check, but request cash upon completion of the work.  Such policies should be stated upon the initial scheduling request.  In addition to this practice, I called Ivan two weeks after his initial service call after one of the cooling units became inoperable.  I was told that there would be an additional $79 service fee for Ivan to assess the unit.  No thanks, Ivan.  <br />

He was very efficient and showed me how to oil the part so it wouldn't wear out so quickly. <br />

They were great. Ivan and Pete arrived on time, knew what they were doing, had some good suggestions and  got the swamp cooler going with new and simpler water lines. It works great. Best swamp cooler start-up I have ever had. <br />

I was impressed that they contacted me the same day via email, and then called the very next day to schedule with me.  Was able to get me in quickly.  They were prompt, and very polite.  They knew what they were doing, and got everything set up in good time. Told me what I needed replaced to make it through the season.  I knew I needed new pads, and asked for them when i bought the deal.  Also needed a new float and he went ahead and replaced the water line as an added bonus.  Great guys.  I was super impressed.  Will use again! <br />

Ivan provided reasonable prices for parts and labor. Ivan and his team performed the repairs and service in a timely and professional manner. Not only would I utilize Controlled Comfort in the future, but I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone who has a swamp cooler, water heater, A\C cooler or furnace on their property. Controlled Comfort may not be a big company, but they are trustworthy, reliable, fair, and professional. They do awesome work!

It went extremely well!  The response from the Newmans at Controlled Comfort was outstanding and they schedule our service exactly in the time frame we had requested.  In fact, I received a call from Lisa to ask if I would like to take the appointment which was cancelled an hour earlier than originally scheduled.  My husband was amazed at the quality and the professionalism shown by Mr. Newman and his helper.  The quickly were up on the roof and working on our unit.  All the work listed in the Big Deal was performed which included cleaning, oiling and water line hook up.  However, having just moved into our home a few months ago, there were a few items that needed help.  We did not have a water line hooked up and our pads were in dire need of replacement.  Mr. Newman provided the water hose, hooked up the unit to the line and replace the pads.  He worked on the unit for approx one hour and now our home is no longer a sauna!  We paid slightly more than the Big Deal and not because Controlled Comfort requested but because we also asked Mr. Newman to do extra and he supplied additional parts and labor.  The total we paid was well worth it and we will, definitely, use Controlled Comfort for our yearly maintenance concerns.  Thank you! <br />

Ivan and his partner arrived on time and did the work quickly.  He was very personable and answered all questions that I had.  He also went above and beyond by replacing the water line and pulley for the AC. <br />

<p>Ivan was great!!!!</p> <p>There was a "special" to ready swamp coolers for $59.00 so I purchased it on Angie's List. The special said he would contact me within two business days to schedule, it took less than two HOURS. I was unable to schedule at that time and sent a note back to him a day later asking if he was able to come out on Friday. Only 4 days notice at a time everyone wants this service done . He was able to work me in on Thursday (today) so that we would not have to go over the weekend in the heat. He came over and was able to simply wash the existing filters as they were still in great shape and replaced a small tube. I was not charged any more money than what I had paid through Angie's List for this service, although I was totally expecting to be charged for at least new filters. He was totally honest that I did not need them replaced just cleaned and didn't charge me for the tube he replaced. I will for sure be calling Ivan to come out in the fall when its time to ready the furnace and shut down the swamp cooler. I will also be calling him to run a gas line to my kitchen so I can change my stove from electric to gas  soon. Very impressed and so happy to have found an honest repairman! I will recommend him highly. On time service, finished ahead of planned schedule. <br />

Evaporative cooler had previously been removed because of allergies. It took more that one visit. Adjustments where made in the duct system for the heater and ac.  The cooling unit placed outside close to the back wall of the house. All the work was done in a timely manner.  Cleaned up the work area. The new thermostat is easy to adjust and does a good job maintaining the desired temperature of both heat and air. <br />

The job was done fast. Ivan even took the time to clean up the worksite when he was finished. When the job was complete, Ivan prayed with me and my family... that was the icing on the cake. <br />
