I strive to be honest and fair with all my business dealings. I take the time to understand the task at hand and what's involved to accomplish it and during the process I verify that no corners are cut and the job is done correctly, professionally, in a timely manner and typically above the expectations of all involved. This is not the case with Cook Siding and Window specifically Jessie Cook. I discovered after the vinyl siding job on my house was complete that house wrap was left off one side of my house. Not until over 2 months did Jessie finally get his crew out to remove the vinyl siding and install the promised house wrap. No excuse for such lack of professionalism and delay to correct a mistake on their behalf. To top it off he charged me full price!

"CSW feels that we were more than fair in this situation. Alot of the facts have been left out of his review. The house is vacant and being fixed up for resale and it had been gutted and new housewrap put on there. Upon initial inspection we were unable to see behind the housewrap. When the installers got there we found that the wood behind alot of the housewrap was coming loose and/or bulging. When the old vinyl siding was removed a large portion of the siding nails were still hanging out of the wall behind the housewrap. Our installer didn't want to do the job with all the extra work involved. CSW ended up paying the installer close to double what we would normally pay to get the house done. Most companies would have either not done the job when this was discovered or went back to the homeowner requesting a significant amount of extra money. Being that it was a referral and how we try to operate we just went ahead and did the work and didn't say anything. However, the homeowner did mention that he wanted us to put new housewrap on the left side that it had some areas of concern. Our installer neglected to put it on thinking it didn't need it and finished the siding. Once I discovered this I sent 2 different service crews out to attempt to take the siding off this side and put new housewrap. Both crews came back and could not do it because there was a dumpster sitting about 2 feet from the wall and there was no way to set up ladders. Finally after our service guys made another attempt we sent a crew out to set up scaffolding and attempt to do it with the dumpster in the way and completed it. The job looks great and I would be happy to give anyone the address to look for themselves. This review boils down to CSW refusing to give the owner an extra discount. We had already spent more than he paid us with the extra work and being that we didn't charge him for all that he got an exceptional deal on the work and an exceptional finished product."

Great job with most everything. Cleaned up after their work. Came back and fixed a porch light. We like the Windows. However, the original windows on front of the house are Tudor style and we love them, decided to keep them. When they wrapped them the wrap covered over the bottom of the windows which open out, so there was no way to open them. I was asked "do you ever open them?" They had to take the wrap off these windows which left holes in the wood and chipped paint. We were told they do not do paint. We couldn't believe that they didn't fix a problem they created.

Responded promptly and courteously to initial call. Offered several alternatives without high pressure. Everything went smoothly, except for them ordering the windows with the wrong grids. The windows were installed professionally. They have ordered the correct replacement windows which should just be swapped out without having to alter the frames. The company offered a discount if we would keep the original windows, but since they were not historically compatible with the house design, we elected not to keep them. The company was willing to order the new windows at their cost and replace them. All in all it has been a satisfactory transaction. I would not hesitate to use them again. <br />

The salesperson showed up on time and gave the requested quote promptly. We accepted it the same day. Although she promised the work would begin in 1-2 weeks, no one contacted us and nothing was scheduled until we called them again after 4 weeks. The technician doing the job was apparently uninformed about its scope and began to remove all the siding on that side of the house. We noticed the excessive removal and stopped him but not before he had removed and damaged a number of 'good' pieces of siding. The supervisor stopped by and instructed him to replace the excess, but it was damaged and so they had to cut down those pieces to remove the damages, resulting in an excessive number of seams in the repaired area. The technician was sent alone for the duration of the job, even though most of it was conducted high above the ground (wrapping the 2-story columns). This made the work go very slowly since the technician had to frequently climb up and down the ladder. For this reason it took almost 3 weeks to complete the job, which should have been done in just a few days had there been two men working on it. On the other hand the overall work was done professionally and we're satisfied with the overall result. The technician did a very good job cleaning up all excess materials afterwards. In spite of the fact that he smoked, he took all butts with him rather than littering them on the ground, which has been a problem with other contractors in the past. <br />

Had them take down old, worn out gutters and replace with new. Also replaced damaged fascia board. These guys were quick, efficient, and you can't even tell they were here. Joseph was great on the sales end, taking several trips down to meet in person. Overall excellent. Will hire again.

The salesman was prompt, courteous, friendly, and our dogs loved him! He provided a reasonable estimate and explained a promotion that the company was having so that we could get the best price for the PlyGem windows. The company was flexible in scheduling the installation so that we could schedule it around a time when one of us could be here. The installers worked hard to complete the job quickly but thoroughly. We felt that they went above and beyond in their work. They did not leave a mess behind and even cleaned the windows and helped me re-hang the blinds before they left! We just found out that they also install roofs and are very excited to get them back out here for our next home improvement project. Highly recommended! <br />

We overall had a good experience. We did have some issues with the sales rep and found out later that he had only been there a short time and had no prior experience selling this type of materials and services. There were some communication issues between he and us a few times, but we worked it out. He also didn't keep good notes and would forget conversations. But, the company as a whole was great to work with. We did this work through a 203K Government Rehabilitation loan, which requires a great deal of extra paperwork. The original deal was for them to do the roof as well, but we found out the week before they started that they had been so busy that the company's asbestos certification had expired, so they had to sub-contract that. It seemed as though our sales guy didn't tell the owner about us having this asbestos roof? We had to go through an amendment process to add this subcontractor to the FHA 203K, but it eventually worked out. We ended up under budget and had enough left over to replace our OLD garage door, which we went through CSW to do, but through another subcontractor. All in all, we would use them again, but would probably want a different account manager to assist us ... the guy we worked with is no longer there, so it won't be an issue anyway.

I called Cook and requested an estimate. They were friendly and set up a time to have someone come out. He was very professional. He brought with him books of samples so we could decide which color we felt matched our siding as it had been on the house since it was built. His intent was to get our house back to it's original look without costing an arm and a leg. Within a week we had our estimate. Within another week the work was done. They were able to do both the siding and the gutter work on the same day. They were able to meet the deadline they have given us. <br /> I will definitely would recommend Cook to friends and family. From the moment we began talking with Brent, we have been pleased. We knew we had a huge project to complete when we bought an older home that desperately needed updating. Brent made us feel very comfortable through the entire process.The quality of the materials as well as the work performed were excellent. We had large gutters added to barns. Cook promptly came and looked at the job. They sent an estimate that required a down payment which I sent in. Then I waited quite a while for the installation. They were not good about keeping me informed during the wait. Finally, the work was done well and the gutters are great. <br />

The person I delt with, Jeff, was very professional and responsive. I was very much impressed with how great he was to work with. When the team replaced the roof, Jeff personally came over and swept the yard with a magnet (twice) to make sure that there were no roofing nails remaining which was very important to me because I have pets. I was worried that they might get a nail in their paws. The gutters were replaced about a week or two later and Jeff returned and swept for more nails that might have been stuck in the old gutters. I am EXTREEMLY happy with the work that they did. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Their estimate wasn't the cheapest but nor was it the most expensive. It was very reasonable for the job they did and there were NO surprises on the bill. <br />
