Chris works hard to please his customers by explaining and differentiating color choices, painting sample wood to show what the choices look like and making the customer's decision much easier with his informed advice. Chris did good work, the deck was really nice. I was surprise that It would look that nice without replacing the whole thing. He match the stain color perfectly and he was really communicative and efficient.

Not a wise choice. Chris talked as if he knew what he was doing. The price I thought was fair at the time. I learned you get for which you pay. Not being knowledgeable and having gotten a couple of other estimates, I decided on Chris. I gave him a time frame and told him I wanted the work finished before I left for vacation. He said it would be done. Well, that didn't happen. I paid half up front for supplies. He did start to work right away. As time got closer to my vacation, it was clear the work wouldn't be finished before I left. July 4 was upon us and he wanted me to finish paying him before I left. I made the mistake of trusting the job would be completed correctly, and I paid him. When I returned the job was completed in his eyes. In my eyes it wasn't completed. I called him and he came back and did a few things. He did take back the broken nail gun he left in my yard waste bin, added a latch on the gate to the deck leading to the steps going to the yard (which isn'tlevel as it had been previously). He also had to remake the gate to the deck from the carport and add a latch. The boards on the deck are not butted up against the house and so there is a gap of about 2 inches which is now filled with debris such as pine combs, pine straw, etc. The lattice on the gate from the deck to the stairs came off and needs repair. There are other defects in the construction. (I took many pictures to verify what I am saying.) There was some power washing on the steps that was done, but in no way was it 600 gallons more than normal! But, yes, my water bill indicated 600 gallons more than normal used that month and I was out of town 2 weeks of that month. I have been so disgusted about the whole situation that it has taken me a year to calm down and write this review. Chris is a polite young man, but needs more experience. Unfortunately, I will never hire him again.

"Customer wanted us to restore her deck and replace rotten floor, lattice and build two gates. When she booked the job with us she said she was going on vacation in 10 days for two weeks I explained we need the wood to be dry to preserve it. We were not able to get the break in the weather we needed before the customers vacation. I explained I could finish it the first weather permitting day when she returned or I could finish the job for her while she was out of town if she could leave us our final check and that she could inspect it when she gets home from vacation. If there was anything wrong we would come back and fix it. I think this is where things went south. She said she was going to leave us our final check but was not happy because we didn’t finish it before her vacation. I said I was sorry but I can’t control the weather. I said we should just wait until you get back. It will not hurt the deck to wait for two weeks. She left us a check and wanted it done. She was not happy with a few things when she returned so we went back out. She did not like the way the one gate latched so I changed out the hardware and adjusted it so it closed and latched on its own after you walk through it. She thought new wood would be darker after we put the preservative on it. I explain the wood would naturally darken over time after it gets some sun. she didn’t like is so I bushed one more coat on the floor to darken it. There was a gap there with the previous floor but was so packed full of rotten debris that it just blended in with the rotten wood I don’t think she even knew it was there. We pressure washed her deck, shed and parts of her house for 3 hours. Our unit uses 3.5 gallons a minute. So the water bill is correct. This is around five dollar’s worth of water anywhere in the U.S. We went back to the job multiple times and fixed everything and then some and asked her to please make sure she was happy with everything before we left and she said she was and dismissed us."

We just completed having our 1100+ square foot deck stripped and stained by Copes Deck. In addition, they power washed and sealed our stamped concrete driveway and walkways.. I am one who is not easily impressed, but in this case I truly was. Chris responded to our Angie’s List inquiry promptly and came to our house and gave us an estimate. I believe his price was reasonable and he immediately impressed me with his knowledge of products and techniques. He started the project on time and was very meticulous in all he did. As of today, we are again enjoying the beauty of where we live -our deck and driveway look just about brand new. I often hesitate to write reviews because I don’t want to hyperinflate any company or individual. In this case, I have no doubts and if I need more work done I will be immediately calling ChrisCope Deck

Chris did a very good job bringing our deck back to the way it was when we bought the house. Very professional and knowledgeable of the issues related to deck work. We got two quotes and, though Chris was a bit more, we decided to go with him as he seems a bit more knowledgeable. Prep work was done on a Friday and the stain work was to be done the following Tuesday. Chris called at about 1200 Tuesday to say he wasn't going to be able to make it due to issues with the availability of his helper. He returned the next day, Wednesday, to complete the work and did a good job of it. Small issues were identified on the final walk thru and he quickly corrected them. Time is really the true test of the quality of the restain effort, but for now it looks very good.

Mr Cope and his coworker did an excellent job. They power washed the deck and. the side of the house on one day and came back to replace the boards and stain the deck after a few days - when the weather cooperated.

I am very pleased with the cleanup done by Chris. I had a mold problem on a screened porch and he was able to clean it right up. Then he returned another day and varnished it to ****** further mold growth. It looks fantastic. The deck was power washed as well, and it too looks great. Chris was professional, responsive, and kept me informed about when he would be able to perform the job. I would definitely call him again.

It went well. We discussed beforehand in some detail what needed to be done. Chris and his partner carried out the job, according to the plan. They took their time mainly because there were some rainy days and the deck needed to be dry for the application of waterproofing and staining. These interruptions prolonged the process a bit, but I was not in a hurry. Also I needed to go out of town unexpectedly. They finished the job w/o any problems, during my absence. Chris provided a very fair estimate for the work. I typically don't always pick the cheapest price but the professionalism and description of how he would do the work made me comfortable enough that it was a no brainer. Chris kept in contact and was able to get the job done in less than a week. When I got home I was amazed at how clean my two patio areas and vinyl fence looked. I am extremely happy I selected Chris and will be calling him back each year for my pressure washing needs.

Chris was quick to respond and started work quickly. First, he thorougly power cleaned the deck and repaired as needed. Later, he and his helper painted the deck with a longer-wearing product. He was also took the initiative to repair and clean other areas, for no extra charge. It is always nice when a job goes this smoothly.

They did the agreed-upon work at the agreed-upon price, but what is really noteworthy is how much time they spent making sure they did a fine complete job. They spent 4 hours and 25 minutes on work they could have rushed through and done an OK job in half that time. It's not like they were going to get paid hourly - they just wanted to be sure it was done as well as possible.
