Core Mechanical

A year ago they responded to an SOS related to a full A/C failure. They were prompt and professional. It took several days, in the heat of the summer, till they were able to fix it, but they had to get a part from the west coast so we sweated through the ordeal. While they were working on replacing the main board, I also engaged them to clean the system. I thought the charge was high ($1000), but needed it done. A year later, one of the A/C mini-split heads stopped working. They came the next day. I paid $200 for them to trouble shoot it, which took approximately 20 minutes. (Subsequently another A/C service charged me only $95 to trouble shoot!) They said they would order the part and get back to me. After I week, I had not heard from them. When I called they said they could get the part but it would take 4-6 weeks. I said okay. What could I say. I left it in their trustworthy hands. After 6 weeks I heard nothing from them. I called. I left 4 messages, which were all unreturned. On the 5th try, someone answered. He said he couldn't get the part. Would have been nice to know that 5 weeks ago. Still puzzled why they didn't communicate with me and thus the low review. I have to say that I thought they were really nice people, but obviously my business wasn't that important to them. So be it. But a little courtesy and honesty would go a long way when servicing a small community like Key West. Because of the later incident, I wanted to give them an F, but that wouldn't be fair. If you're lucky, have deep pockets, and the problem isn't complicated, they are okay. Just be aware. I thought I had actually found a reliable service, but that wasn't the case.

They fit me in their schedule the next day, and fixed the problem right away. <br /> I've used them a handful of times now, and always been satisfied. They have helped keep a couple of old A/C systems running beyond their time, and installed a complete new system for me. I've tried  a couple other companies, and felt fortunate if they even answered their phone. Core Mechanical of Summerland Key has always been responsive and always fixed my A/C problems right the first time. <br />

They came to the house 30 minutes after calling about a broken air-conditioner. This was about 7:00 in the evening. He was able to find the problem and repair it in approximately an hour. I was very relieved that they could fix it, without replacing the compressor. Great service and very professional. I feel the price was fair for an evening service call. Called the company on a Sunday. They arrived on Monday to give me the bad <br /> news I had expected.  My 15 year ole A/C unit had finally died.   Later that day <br /> I received an estimate which I accepted.  The new unit was installed on Thursday <br /> of the same week. <br />   <br /> The Monday they arrived it was very hot (when else do A/C's die). They <br /> offered and I accepted a portable A/C loaner.  Fast response.  Professional <br /> service. Friendly and capable people. <br />

Core Mechanicals' tech Jason came in and inspected our A/C system. We had problems with it freezing up. They checked the pressures and added refrigerant to fix that. They did an inspection of the entire system and found our air handler to be extremely dirty. He removed the handler and brought it outside where he thoroughly cleaned it (it took a couple of hours to do. It had a lot of dirt and hair. It was really gross to see that was where the air that my family and I were breathing in came from!) The system is almost 5 years old and he removed the dirt and hair that had accumulated in it over that period of time. I highly recommend getting that done by them! The air quality in my house is so much better now. My family's allergies have been so much better, especially with the dog in the home. My system works and cools much more efficiently and they showed me how properly install the filters, that is very important for capturing dirt and dust. So worth the cost! Cleaner air and my electric bill was even a little less! Jason was very informative and explained the workings of my system to me, I never really gave it much thought before. I am having them back out to install UV light/ air purification system. I highly recommend them! Very prompt, knowledgeable service, very professional! Jason said he works from Key West all the way to Key Largo, and works on all brands. I believe they are a Lennox dealer and they also do pool heaters. They are my A/C guys from now on! <br />

Core Mechanical replaced our aging air conditioning systems.  They were prompt, efficient, courteous, and professional. Their bid was quite fair in our estimation and below the competition. In today's world it seems a little unusual to find trades people who do what they say they will do when they say they will do it and Core Mechanical is one of those rare finds. I recommend them highly. <br />

They came to the house the same day we called & checked our unit. They let us borrow a window unit until they got our unit put in. <br />

They were able to accommodate my request for an earlier installation date. The work crew was friendly, competent and involved me in the process, consulting with me as to where to install unit etc. I was given instructions on how to operate new system, and told to call if I have any questions or concerns. I have had no problems with the unit, and have found it to be very energy efficient.

Arrived on time, had all the parts needed, serviced the outdoor A/C, then checked the blower inside.  Very polite & good knowledge of the equipment.  Fair price. <br />

we've dealt with a number of different a/c guys during our time in the keys (since 1989).  i appreciated the core guys "bedside manner'.  they explained what they were doing and why.  a detailed invoice was provided.  they were prompted, spent considerable time at our house(at least 2 and one half hours) and not only got the cooling where it should be but figured out what the noise problem was (a gap between the sheet rock  panels at the return, which they fixed).  <br />

This story starts at our local hardware store. <strong>Summerland Hardware</strong>. me and my lovely wife just moved here to this Island a short time ago. And we only at that time knew just a few people. So when I was at the hardware store I asked the nice people there if they knew of any good A/C men? That's when they gave me Steve's, <strong>Core Mecanical's</strong> business card was a Letter Opener. I will first of all say that this was a difficult job. And this A/C unit was a additional add on to one of the rooms. As our house is new construction. So I was a little conserned about adding on this unit and it looking good and like it should on a new house. It looked perfect. I will say that when Steve and his tech's showed up I was impressed right away with how professional they all looked,acted and how they work very hard to do the job. And do the job they did. Steve had came over a few days before to look and give me a quote on the job. And he gave me 3 choices on pricing and what kind of unit could be installed to resolve my problem. I chose one of the three and that is the price I paid him when a job well done was completed all on the same day. The tech came out on very short notice.  He was professional and courteous.  He put down water barriers to make sure there was no damage to the floor.  Got a fair price and did not feel he was  trying to sell me more than was required.  Was very happy with his work. <br />

This job was very dificult due to the existing structure but they handled it very well. The owner even had his son to crawl thru the ceiling rafters to run the ducting! Everything came out very well. I would heartily reccomend them! <br />
