It indicates our commitment to a high-level, professional, with quality work done at a pace that has minimum impact or inconvenience on the customer. We do not take a deposit and get to the job when we can. Weather permitting, we commit to a date and honor it. Materials are delivered and placed for your convenience. Our fleet of dump trailers ensures a minimum impact on your driveway and quick removal on the day of the job. The overall project appeared to have proceeded well. They are the roofing experts, not me. So, I did not get in their way. I let them do what they had to do. At the end of project I had to bring to their attention that: ^the driveway side of my house, where the debris trailer was placed, had to be cleaned because there were black tar marks on it, * they also had to vacuum out the crawlspace and hallway where the roof access hatch is. * they also needed to remove debris from my front lawn, and sweep up the gravel and dust from my driveway and back yard, all which came from the rooftop at they were removing the old roof. I was at this time i told Ron I was withholding $360. from the final payment, because his carpenter had done a very poor job replacing the front corner roof soffit.

They knocked it out in a day and a half. They cleaned up the old shingles and used a machine to pick up nails. They also cleaned my gutters. It wasn't a bad price and I got a lifetime warranty. The first day they came early and stayed late.

I am very pleased with Mr. L'Heroux's services. I called him after some water damage appeared in the roof, being under pressure due to another storm coming. He came over that day, examined the roof, and took corrective action.
When I had an another water issue later on after a nasty snow/ice/rain storm, he came over free of charge to examine the roof again. I believe this may have been due to an ice dam and faulty roof contruction, which has nothing to do with this contractor. I have not seen any leaks since.
Very disappointing. Two men showed up in a run-down truck with no company identification on it. The driver, and first person I attempted to speak to, spoke mostly Spanish. The owner(?) or manager was in the passenger street, who did speak english, leaned over to say a few words to me across the driver when I asked a few questions. I pointed out a few loose shingles I wanted fixed. I figured that was pretty easy, so I left them there alone. When I came back, there was no note about what had been done, they didn't call to tell me what was done, they didn't even leave a business card. I wasn't looking for much with the service. I just had a few loose shingles I was concerned about were on the front of the house. They were very noticeably glued back in place. I felt the black adhesive they used could have been applied better, or at least tidied up afterwards. A few shingles were cracked and damaged, and I had thought they would perhaps replace them. But, ultimately, I didn't care if they were glued or stapled or sewn on, I just wanted them fixed, so I let it go. As long as they were attached again, I really didn't care. Well, one shingle was hanging loose again in less than a year. I also found little bits of shingle after a few strong winds. The top of my house roof was less than two year's old, so that needed no work. I had bought the house less than two years ago, it was thoroughly inspected, and the gutters, chimney, etc were all in good shape. How hard a job was it? They couldn't manage to repair a few shingles. A total rip-off, as far as I'm concerned. I guess I should never have left them alone. They were probably "done" and gone in twenty minutes.
I was shocked that the service was so bad, AND recommended by Angie's. I could have asked a neighbor for a recommendation and for the same price, had it done right. I would NEVER use this company again or recommend them. I made no attempt to call them to repair the shingle because I had no confidence in their service. It also shook my confidence in Angie's list and I haven't bought any "special deals" since.
After it was difficult to get the job scheduled, he was on his cell phone complaining when he first got here. He continued to stay on the telephone while I started to speak with him. He also spoke with his boss and his kid later. Finally, he started to check on the roof with me. He put a new patch over a existing patch. The next time it rained, it leaked in three or four different areas. He also came back with an estimate to re-roof the lower section for $5,800, which was very expensive. I called another company who was much more accommodating to do the job.
Response from Cornerstone Contractors
"Member did not answer several attempts to contact. When initial contact by Bill was finally made, husband answered. Husband hung up mid conversation, as he had some sort of family emergency. A couple of days later, after difficult initial contact, Bill arrived fifteen minutes before the appointment was scheduled. It was during this time that the Bill was on the phone when receiving instructions from Company’s owner. Bill was professional and helpful, and realized that the homeowner’s distress was because this was an unexpected expense around the holidays and may be having so financial difficulty. This was an old leak that the homeowner’s wife had attempted several times to fix herself. Bill went up onto the upper and lower roof to do scheduled inspection. Homeowner’s wife had a jury rigged patch on lower roof which was disintegrating badly. Roof was fragile and brittle. Because of the homeowner’s patch job, Bill was unable to remove the old shingles for repair. This would have necessitated the complete removal of the section. Bill then, after advising the home owners, placed a patch over the existing singles. Bill used new three tab shingles with appropriate nails and lexanite, as well as laid down rubber to minimize impact while walking on roof. Bill also was on phone with owner to confer. Bill never spoke to anyone other than company’s owner. It was explained to homeowner that the roof was extremely fragile and more leaks could and probably would occur by the very act of walking on it for repair. It was never, at any time represented to the home owner that this was anything but a stop gap measure, and a new roof was needed badly. Homeowner was told to immediately contact Bill if any leaks appeared and was given a card. Home owner never asked for an estimate for just the lower roof replacement, as they had three tab shingles, and wanted new architectural shingles. Bill told them that it was a small roof, and the price would be reasonable. Bill also informed the homeowners that the Company would be very accommodating as to payment, and that we would help them as we have others customers in the past with such situations. With impending rain storms occurring, I told them to call me(Bill) immediately if there was a problem, that we would immediately return and at worst put a tarp on the roof to handle the leak which is our standard practice. Homeowner NEVER contacted the company. The Company sent out estimator, and called back several times, and got no answer, when Bill finally got through after estimate was sent, he asked how is the roof, and he was told that it was leaking. Bill said he would come out to home and address the situation, and they said no thank you. Homeowners told Bill they were talking to the bank, and to contact after holidays. Also, homeowner never questioned about estimate as being whole roof or lower roof, or the price. The price would have been significantly lower for just one part of the roof. In a later follow-up they told Bill they had it done by someone who had replaced a bay window. While it is unfortunate that this has occurred, it is a rarity in our experience. Due to the unusually harsh winter, immediate addressing of inspection/repair issues was greatly impacted and emergency calls took top priority. See Review of ________ and roof we did had get permission from neighbor to put dumpster in their yard, plow their yard to put dumpster, shovel about 2 feet of snow off roof and replace. The Company attempted to keep open the channels of communication as we always do. Several attempts have been made by the Company to address [member name removed]’s complaint, we are only hearing now for the first time and they have declined to respond."

This was a deal sponsored by Angie's List where Cornerstone offered a roof inspection with minor repairs and an electrical inspection for $159. It took weeks to get in contact with them after the service was already paid for. It took longer to set up a firm date. The man who arrived only did a precursory inspection of the roof and said there were no problems to fix right now. He was supposed to send out someone to give me a quote on a new roof which he said I needed next spring but no one ever came. Part of the deal was that I was supposed to get a quote at the time of inspection too. No electrical inspection was ever done. This ended up feeling like a big scam to me. They got $159 to walk around my roof.
Response from Cornerstone Contractors
"Initial contact was made by Bill. Bill did complete roof inspection for homeowner as per Angie’s List coupon. Bill checked lower roof which homeowner said needed replacement, but was probably going to be done by another contractor. Bill Checked chimney, which was fine, checked all gutters and fascia boards. Homeowner reported no leaks, and found no trouble areas. The roof was old, and nearing the end of its lifespan. Bill explained to homeowner that she should seek a replacement roof in the next two years. Bill volunteered to have free estimate done for her, but she was not really interested. Roof inspections are done in groups and coupons are good for six months. This was not judged to be an emergency by homeowner or sales representative. Homeowner was agreeable to being contacted in the spring for an estimate. The homeowner at no time ever exhibited any dissatisfaction with the service provided. [member name removed] has not as of yet been charged through Angie’s list for the service. Why she would write this we do not know as no phone calls or emails will be answered As a Christian all I can say is Matthew 18:15 “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. “ We would not post this response until we made every effort to follow this Christian Philosophy."

They worked out well. I think they did a good job. I had to kinda chase them down to get them to come out. That’s the only negative. Once he committed to a date and a time, he was there and he was on time and did what he needed to do. To my knowledge, the repair had worked but we haven’t really had heavy rainstorms since the service so I really don’t know.

I had discovered some spots on my ceiling that I had suspected were from roof damage, so the coupon seemed made to order, though another contractor (not a roofer) had suggested that the damage was probably from rodents rather than water, since it did not get worse after a rainstorm.

After playing phone tag for a week or so, I got in contact with Cornerstone, and they promptly sent out a repairman. The fellow did the inspection as specified, and determine that the problem was a large section of missing ridge vent, which he replaced, and explained that there had been a large opening which rodents could easily have entered through. So he corroborated my other contractor's diagnosis, and completed the repair. Well worth the $150.
It turned out great and it was really good. They brought in a crew of 8 people and they were able to get the job done in one day. We like their professional workmanship, and you could tell they were very skilled. They had 6 people on the roof and 2 people below on cleaning detail. The salesman came back several times check on the job and make sure we were satisfied. They came within a week of signing the contract and completed the job.

I had received a letter from my Homeowners Insurance Co. that it would cancel my insurance based on an inspection from the street done in 2009. What she saw was a few shingles that were replaced not exactly a matching color. The replacement was do to a storm in 2009. I never filed a claim, because it wa only a few hundred dollars. I went to Angie's list and found Cornerstone Contractors. I am glad I did. They contacted me in a few days and set up a time for the inspection. They came on time. Inspected the rook and made a couple of repairs at no additional expense. They sent me an evaulation which I forwarded to the Insurance Company and they are continuing my policy. They did tell me that I may need a new roof in 5 - 6 years. Based on their professional work, I won't even consider using anyone else when that time comes...Thanks to all.
Took a while to get them out due to a miscommunication. I had to call several times in order for them to show up. Once they finally showed up they did a really great job and they seemed to be very knowledgeable about roofing. They are suppose to call me back to give me an estimate on a new roof etc. I would have rated them an excellent had they at least called to tell me what was going on. Overall they do great work.
He was wonderful. He was very attentive and thorough. I felt like I had been doing business with him for years. I had to leave since I was called to another job. He was able to do the inspection on my roof and clean my gutters and gave me two phone calls to follow up on the appointment.

Took a while to schedule the work due to the staff being in the hospital, but that wasn't a big deal. Mike was a good guy, easy to talk to, and knew his stuff. I inspected the work yesterday - mostly he went around, replaced a few shingles, and nailed down/caulked each nail pop, added a few more nails, and applied sealant around the cracked chimney flashing. He replaced a missing gutter section as well. He said he trimmed some overlapping shingles, and I saw evidence where he did (cut pieces), but unfortunately it was not in the area that really needed it. Overall, I could have done most of this myself, but didn't have the know-how to determine what to do where. I'll get a few more years out of this roof. Still need to wait for next rainstorm to determine if the 2 interior leaks I had have been fixed.

***Quick update - a week later, I got a flat tire. It was from a brand new roofing nail. After looking in my driveway, I found another one. Really hope next time he checks where his nails fall!!! Would downgrade to a B- if I could...

I did use CORNERSTONE CONTRACTORS, I was very pleased and I actually hired them to replace my roof, and I was very pleased. They repaired a hole in the roof that was made by a squirrel, which I didn't know, my roof was leaking and he told me that was a squirrel. When they replaced the roofing they had to strip 2 layers of roofing and put on new sub roofing under it, so it was an extensive job and that was not the cheapest estimate I got but it was a lot cheaper than some of them. I just recommended them to my daughter and she had her roof done by them. I don't need another roof.
