Best movers ever! I felt safe and everything was intact in the move. Joshua was very patient and the staff was polite and kind. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to move without hesitation. I will also use them again if I need to move anything even if it's just moving small items or a large move again. I trust the owner and the staff completely!

Receiving a quote and booking was easy. All calls, emails or texts were answered promptly. The day of the move the crew showed up on time and even in the extreme cold, they were fast and very professional. Made moving SO easy. I would highly recommend!!

Review Courtesy Movers, LLC arrived on time nicely dressed, polite and wisely planned moving my very large armoires, antique table, and other difficult to move large and valuable pieces of furniture. They communicated well with us and addressed our concerns. They never slid or dragged furniture along the floor. Handling valuable furnishings requires a special attitude and slower pace that Courtesy Movers, LLC has. They determine how the item to be moved is put together to make sure where it is strongest. They examine the room and the route whereby the furniture or item is to be moved to identify potential trouble. These are just a few of the skills courtesy, Movers, LLC use to take care of your valuable items. Thank you, Courtesy Movers, LLC for doing such a fantastic job and taking the stress out of moving day.

I was getting very worried because the jobs preceding mine took longer and they were 2 hours late BUT then Josh added 3 guys to the job and it was done like the speed of light! Wow! They had to carry a couch up 6 flights of stairs and it was all over before I realized I had never even offered them something to drink!! Joshua is VERY polite and professional and I'd recommend him and his crew to anybody in the KCity area. The price was right what I expected with no surprises and he was licensed and insured. THANK YOU COURTESY MOVERS!!
These were the absolute most professional movers I have ever used. So friendly, clean, and as their name says...courteous. They were extremely careful with our items. When it was time to pay, they went over it detail. I will definitely use them again!

Very professional people. Friendly, asked exactly what we wanted to move and were very careful with everything both loading and unloading. Asked us several times if there was anything else they could move around for us once we got back to our house. Just very kind and understanding. We are completely satisfied with this transaction.
I highly recommend these guys. I've used them for personal moves in the past and an emergency business move today. They are very professional, friendly, punctual and really did a great job for me. Josh is a great team leader and his crew really took care with my move. I highly recommend using them for moving either your home or business.
We moved across town, and we personally moved all of the smaller items. We had the movers just move the larger items such as furniture. They had everything packed moved and into our new home in approx 4 hours. Very efficient and nice. Easy to work with.
I hired Josh and his crew to move my belongings from one house to another, 15 miles apart. Let me start off by saying his crew was very hard working and worked the entire time to get this job done. Josh was very nice, but his business skills need work.
I called several different moving companies before deciding to hire Courtesy Movers. The reason I decided to hire them was because they had the lowest quote for the same amount of hours, they didn't charge extra for moving the extra heavy items and they were listed #1 on Angie's List last year. When I talked to him about an estimate I explained to him that i had a 3 bedroom, 2 living room, basement, workshop, shed and all the appliances(fridge, washer/dryer) were needing to be moved. He said it was a 6 hour move, for 3 men for approximately $600. I called several times in the next week to ask about what they would/wouldn't move, asked about their cancellation policy, just in case the sell fell through, and verified that they had us on their calendar for 4/18/14 @ 9-9:30am arrival time.
First I got a call from Josh the day before our move, asking if we still needed them, he had a note that I had cancelled their services. I reassured him that I did indeed need him still and verified again that I was getting 3 men on 4/18 around 9-9:30 am.
Move Day:

- The Crew shows up at 10am (30 min late) and gets started moving items into the truck.

- 2pm they finally have the truck loaded for the first trip and are on the way to the new house with our boxes and all the loose stuff (toys, tools, etc).

- At 4:30 pm the truck is unloaded and heads back to the house to get all our furniture. (On a side note, I had several family members helping unload boxes and stuff from the truck. I also found out that the 3rd mover, for which I am paying for, is on his first day and can't do any heavy lifting. He is only allowed to load/unload light items and boxes.)

- 4:30pm - I order dinner for all my helpers, thinking we'd get our meal over with, so when they get back we are ready to finish up stuff

- 6 pm - I talk to my husband who is at the old house and they are having issues getting the fridge out and on the truck and that as soon as they get that done they will be on their way

- 7 pm - I talk to my husband and they were still trying to get the fridge out

- 8 pm - I talk to my husband for a 3rd time...he had to show them how to get the fridge out of the house

-8:30 pm - I get a call from Josh saying that he's going to bring in more movers to help get this move done...which is already 5hrs past the point he told me it would be done and I have no beds set up for my kids to go to bed and no furniture still

-10:30pm - I am finally able to put my kids to bed and Josh asks to sit and talk about the move

He kept saying how they 'finished strong' even though a move that he told me would take 6 hrs @$600 ended up taking 12 hrs @ $1300. Not to mention he kept telling me that it was my fault for not asking for a walk-through appointment w/him prior to the move and that the average time for a 3 bedroom apartment move is 6 hrs. I had to keep correcting him that I moved out of a house, not an apartment. I told him that I had never hired movers before and had no idea that was an option and as the owner he should've recommended one. Not to mention they scratched my son's dressed and is adamant about the fact that they did not do this. It was a brand-new dresser and the only people that have ever touched it is NFM when they delivered it to me and them and the end that the scratch was on was one that was against the wall at the old house and had never been exposed in order to get scratched until move day.
In the end he ended up crediting us for the time spent on the fridge (3hrs...since my husband was the one that got it out of the house), but his arguing with me about things was not desirable. Nor was the fact that he brought the entire crew into the conversation about where the move went wrong. I don't think we were unreasonable in what we were needing/asking for.
He set up his crew to fail from the beginning when he failed to do a walk through and I will NEVER use them again, nor recommend them to anyone else. Because of the monstrous price increase that I was not expecting I wasn't able to give his crew the tip I had planned and that they deserved.

Josh came to the home to review my belongings and give me an estimate. He agreed to 2 stops in Lenexa since I had items in 2 homes. He was very nice, polite and thorough, and there was no pressure to use his company. I got 3 estimates, and he was very competitive. When I decided to use his company, he confirmed via email and told me who would be coming to my home to provide the moving services. On the day of the move, they were only running 15 minutes late, but still called to let me know. They were very professional, very careful with the items and after reviewing the home with me, they got right to work. After loading in Lenexa, they told me they would be stopping for lunch, and they deducted that time as well as time for a fuel stop from my total. Once we arrived in Lawrence, they were very good about unloading items and asking me about where to place things. They noticed that my dresser legs needed some reinforcing and told me they wanted to fix those to make sure the dresser didn't collapse. This was above and beyond their job description, and I was very impressed that they offered to repair that for me before moving it inside. Additionally, the washer hose was cracked, and they went to get a new one for me and set it up for me, so I could use the washer right away. Although the final bill was above the estimate, it was only because it took more time than Josh thought it would to load all my belongings. They charged me the same hourly rate, and all of the time was accounted for in the move, less lunch and fuel stop. I would definitely use them again!

I was put in contact with these great guys through the furniture store where I purchased a very large Thomasville dining table with chairs and leaves, and a China cabinet/hutch, that weighed over 500 lbs. The entire front was heavy leaded glass, with glass shelves, solid wood cabinetry. It was a two-piece unit with the glass cabinet on top, wood drawer assembly on bottom. I was really nervous about all that weight and glass, but these men know their stuff:

They went to the store (a consignment shop), disassembled the top and bottom, wrapped each shelf individually in packing quilts. wrapped the cabinets in packing quilts, then followed that with stretch wrap and wrapped in cardboard where needed for extra protection.

They placed the furniture, adjusting it to my taste, reassembled it, wiping down the glass, and left my new dining room guest-ready!

Not one scratch, chip or even a fingerprint when they left!

I'll use these guys for every moving need I have.

They do whole house moves, too!

The move was well coordinated and the movers were very flexible to changing weather issues. The original plan of 3 men and a truck for the move changed due to weather to speed up the move. Instead 6 men arrived which sped up the move considerably; however, the 45 minutes in the middle of the move to coordinate adjustments to the days move schedule which had little to do with my move and kept the movers idle for 45 minutes. In the end the price was much more than we had agreed upon based on man hours. While I understand the need to be flexible I don't believe adding the idle time was appropriate.
Otherwise I was very happy with the service and the attention they gave to my belongings and the care they used to move my belongings.
Went very well. Was a little delayed at beginning, but they called to let me know. They take very good care of all furniture, breakables etc. They wrap furniture with moving blankets and/or bubble wrap to protect each piece. This is the 3rd time I have used Josh & Greg. Would definitely use them again.

I spoke to Justin Monday morning and he was great. Said he could move my three pieces of furniture that same day and all for $120 which was much cheaper than anyone else had quoted me. I told him I could do between 1:00 and 3:00pm and they showed up at 2:00pm which was great. They had called at 1:00pm to let me know it would be around 2:00pm. They too great care of my furniture and were very professional. I would for sure call them again.
I have moved 6 times in the past 10 years, mostly for work. I've worked with 5 different moving companies during that time. Courtesy Movers is the best. Josh Curtis, Owner, assured me from the beginning that his job was to make my life easier. He was right. His team showed up on time, all with great attitudes and smiles, and proceeded to take control and make me feel at ease. They explained fully how they operate and did a full walk-through of both locations before beginning. They explained how they would proceed throughout the move, asked questions when needed, and gave me the opportunity to rest. Josh interviewed me on how much I love the sun through my windows and gave insight on how to position my furniture for best placement. I shed tears of joy at the ease and the care that these fine young men showed me. It was a tremendous experience. I hope I don't have to move again for awhile but if I do - Josh and his team at Courtesy Movers will be hired. They have earned a customer for life.
First, I should note that I hauled seven pickup loads with a five by ten foot trailer loaded to my son's house between the time of our estimates and the actual move. On the day of the move four young men showed up at 10:30 in the morning - at least an hour and a half later than expected, then proceeded to take an hour and a half lunch break at about 12:15. I noticed they were starting to pack clothes from a closet into a regular box and asked if they used garment boxes, and one said we sometimes do but didn't bring any this time. I have moved with professional movers and packers seven times previously and every time they packed our hanging clothes in garment boxes. The boxes were packed haphazardly, poorly marked, and most furniture was not wrapped protectively. The team arrived for the unload about an hour and a half late with the two least experienced movers from the previous two days and two new guys who seemed to have NO prior experience. The most experienced of the lot was ill and had to lay down for awhile and could barely function. After unloading and encountering other difficulties too numerous to mention, the driver had about a forty minute conversation about the final bill with Josh. At the end of the phone conversation he presented me with a bill for $3,100, about $400 higher than the top end of the estimate. I paid the bill and told the driver I was very unhappy and to tell Josh I needed to talk to him. I called Josh and got his voice mail which he responded to three days later. I was unable to talk when he called but said I would call him back in about twenty minutes, which I did, reaching his voice mail. After not hearing back from him, I tried again with the same result. Incidentally, prior to my move I always received prompt responses to voice mail messages from Josh. Finally I sent him a detailed email, but a week later I have received no response. I wanted to give him a chance to respond before I posted such a negative review but I got nothing from him. I would absolutely not ever use Courtesy Movers for any move I would make in the future and would strongly recommend you not use them either. Ed
The move went great and Courtesy Movers made everything very easy. We were a bit nervous because the move was so large and a far distance. They moved our entire house (3 BR 2 Bath), including outdoor furniture and equipment, and they even towed one of our cars. From beginning to end of the process Josh made sure everything was taken care of and that we had no worries or concerns. We've had friends that have used them for moves in the KC area and they loved the services too. The cleaning crew did an excellent job making sure things were spotless as well when we left. We can't say enough good things about them and to top it off, the price was extremely fair. Much lower than some of the national carriers. A+ Service.
