High prices, very poor communication

I am so thankful I was able to find Craftsmen Roofing to help when we were in the process of selling our house. They made time for us super quick, Jason McLennan was so helpful in explaining everything from the insurance process to our specific roof details. I would highly recommend!

Our neighborhood was hit by a devastating hailstorm in 2022. The vinyl siding on the north sides of everyone's house was pocked with holes and gashes, roofs catastrophically damaged, broken windows, battered cars, tree limbs everywhere. Certainly, we had all seen storm damage much worse than what found after our storm, but we all braced for the challenges ahead: clean up, repair and even rebuild. As we picked up the pieces around our yards, contracting companies descended on our neighborhood. Dealing with the insurance end of the equation was already becoming a marathon--but the looming questions, who should we choose to repair our home, who will do the job well became a worrisome preoccupation for us and all of our neighbors. Our former neighbor, Ben F, drove by one day, and seeing me in the yard cleaning up, he stopped by to check in with us. Ben listened empathetically. He told us he had started to work for Craftsmen and asked us if we wanted him to give us an estimate. Ben told that us he had been impressed with the team at Craftsmen, that he had found a workplace guided by principles of integrity. As he put together the estimate, Ben was thorough and thoughtful, answering our endless questions with considerable knowledge and good advice. We trusted Ben as a friend, and after looking at other companies, we decided to go with Craftsmen--not only on Ben's recommendation, but on other positive feedback we received from people who had worked with them through the years. Over the course of a year of work, there were some issues that arose, perhaps not surprisingly, but each time and overall, Craftsmen listened to our concerns and acted fully to resolve them. But what made the difference was the consistent assurances we got from Phillip P, one of the company's owners, that Craftsmen would correct any issue to our satisfaction--a promise that our patient contractor, John B, followed up on, as we likely drove him crazy with anxiety filled texts. Steven S at the office ensured that we were scheduled for our repairs and any follow ups that came after. Ben’s hard work, Phillip's word, John's follow-through and the teamwork at Craftsmen all mattered! This experience has taught us that in the process of home repair and restoration (and I imagine in renovation too), you cannot let the idea of the perfect get in the way of the good. And Craftsmen delivers the goods! We have finally, and thankfully, come to the end of repairing our home! We 100% recommend Craftsmen if you are looking for a solid, local company that operates on principles of integrity and that goes the extra mile to ‘make it right.’ Craftsmen, like other companies following the hail event, met a different sort of storm—a storm of people needing repairs. The unusual circumstance meant that Craftsmen had to learn how to navigate a disaster event along the way. But as they learned best practices in the aftermath of our storm, they stood by their work. Now, as we stroll through our neighborhood, we often note how lucky we were to have made the best choice! Thank you, Phillip, Ben, John, the men and women on the construction and window crew, and everyone at the office for your dedication and hard work!

Amazing one day installation Very satisfied with the final result. Excellent presentation of the process and quality of materials and details. Only critique is that I am waiting for the placement of the last roof vent. A minor issue but it has been a week since completion. I would still highly recommend them for quality of work and cleanup.

They approached me after a storm ripped through the neighborhood, they worked with the insurance company to get my out of pocket as small as possible and did the work in a matter of hours. (Roof replace, fixed up some less than perfect lumber and swapped out the gutters and downspouts)

Completed work in one day. Ten workers. Workmanship was outstanding. Cleanup was excellent.

Completed work in one day. Cleaned up completely. Ten workers. Could not tell if anyone was in charge. Everyone knew what to do with no interruptions in the work. Well pleased.

We signed a contract with Craftsmen to do a small siding job in September 2018 and were told work would begin in 3 weeks and would take 1 day to complete. We did not hear back from them again until I reached out in November, at which time they told us that they would begin work in three weeks time. However, work did not begin for another six weeks (end of December 2018) and was not completed until February 2019. The project took so long to complete part of the construction loan we took out to finance the project was cancelled by the bank. Do not use this company if you want a project completed quickly and not subbed out to another company. There was no project management on this job. They showed up late every time they scheduled to work, not starting work until noon and working until nightfall. We did have a change order on the project but never received an itemized invoice or details on the extra costs as we requested. If I could give zero stars as a review for a company, I would do this for Craftsman Contractors.

Roof and gutter replacement - May 2017 They sub-contract all their work out and provide no on-site supervision. The sub-contractors were drinking on the job site, using my backyard as restroom, and damaging property left and right without any notice. It was not until I brought this up to Craftsmen did they even care to address the damages. It took negotiation even for the company to want to repair the damages left. After the job and repairs were completed, the first rainstorm came through and the interior of my house looked like someone turned a garden hose on. The company via the sub-contractor claimed no fault. They made invest another $4k in repairs to my chimneys. Evidently, the chimneys were too bad to work around, but again NO ONE said anything prior to the start of the job. The company then sent their own employee over to inspect where he noticed a softball size hole next to the chimney from the install. They then just chalked the hole and did not address the damage caused by their sub-contractors. We are still dealing all the issues that this company caused to date. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE THIS COMPANY!

Very well. The installers were very quick & skilled, but also very considerate & communicated well how long it would take & what to expect. Outstanding service experience; would recommend to friends & will use again.

It went well overall

Fast and complete. Workers had old roof removed and new one installed in less than 1/2 day. Gutter crew was excellent. I called them back out with a problem in a torrential downpour, and they showed up to check it out. They explained that massive rain could cause some overflowing. There have been no issues in a normal rain.
