The scheduler did not tell me I had to furnish materials, so wrapping porch columns in vinyl could not be done. I assumed quoted price included materials. It did not. The workman who did the other jobs (repairing stairs, cutting off a door, fixing an ill hanging door and repairing two cabinet hinges) did a good job. However the scheduler corrected the price and quoted $1257 for the work accomplished, which only took 6 hours. That is over $200 an hour. Happy with the work, unhappy with the price.

"Sorry for any frustrations Jan. Our guy could have taken 4 times longer if it would make you feel better about an hourly. Some guys are quicker and some take longer, most people appreciate the quicker ones. But yes, we almost always provide labor only estimates as most customers know the materials they want and have them ready to go. It's on our estimating sheets, it's on our paperwork, and it's on our website. Sorry for any frustrations, but this is how we help customers save as most other contractors don't disclose this, but they will mark up materials 50-100%. We allow customers to purchase their own materials to save money and they love it."

Joe fixed our bathroom leak by replacing the faulty hardware with the proper hardware and patched the wall back up and repainted the wall (with the perfect color match) where he had to cut out to diagnose. You can’t even tell there was a hole there. Joe took the time to explain everything to me of what our issue was and how he fixed it. He was on time, explained how long the job will take, and very thorough. Very professional work. My husband and I will definitely use Cransten again for our house projects in the future. Luxury Vinyl Flooring Installation (Materials Provided by Consumer)
Kell installed LVP in both the master bedroom and bathroom of a house we recently purchased. He did an excellent job and worked hard to finish the work done early so we could move into our new home before our lease was up. The entire process was straightforward and clear, from the initial consultation and estimate to the final walkthrough and payment. Trevor gave me the initial estimate and updated the estimate when our priorities and budget changed. Kell was a pleasure to work with. It was nice to have him in our home. He's friendly and knowledgeable. When an issue with the subfloor required additional work, Kell made sure I knew how much it would cost to repair. He also gave me the option to pick up the materials he needed so I could avoid the markup Cransten would charge if he picked up the materials. This was clearly explained before, so I wasn't blindsided and could decide which option would be best for me. It was a fantastic experience all around!

I reached out to Cransten about having my front door sanded and stained due to sun and weather. Very responsive and initially received a quote for $560. Received a call later that the job was underbid and that the project had been reviewed and the fee would be increased to $1,200. After discussions we went ahead and scheduled. The handyman arrived and acted as though he had no idea that the project would require the necessary time. He said we should "call a professional" to do this as it was going to take a lot of hand sanding to get into crevices, etc. and he could not make enough money in a days work. Then said he wouldn't do the job. These folks advertise themselves as professionals and told me "they do this type of work all the time". I make mistakes, everyone does, but they evidently thought they were coming to quickly slap on some stain and walk away for $1,200. Incredibly disappointed.
