Drywall - Repair
Through Cranston, Joel has been out for two different repairs and has been fantastic! I have had two different issues in separate rooms with needing work done leaving me with a big hole in my ceiling that needed drywall and new paint. Great communication, quick but attentive to detail in his work. Will definitely have them out again for any future needs!

Kell did an amazing job installing our new ceiling fan. We have a very high ceiling, almost 20 feet. Kell was very safety conscious and professional. Brought all the right equipment, got the job done in a timely fashion and made sure the fan was balanced and working properly.

Ours was actually a powder room remodel, of sorts. We had a water leak that had caused us to need to replace the floor, including 3 joist under the house. There was also some work to damaged Sheetrock on the bottom of the wall all the way around the room and the toilet flange. Preston and Allen were out on day one and got the work under the house completed and by the time they left for the day they had the floor in. Allen was back on day 2 and completed all of the work: dry wall, base boards, toilet flange, installed new VCP flooring, etc. Both of these guys were very professional. They came in, communicated what needed to be communicated, got to work, kept their work areas clean and in good shape, were always available and open to questions and gave great advice. Very well satisfied with their work and will use Cransten again when the need arises.

Handyman for Multiple Small Projects
The scheduler did not tell me I had to furnish materials, so wrapping porch columns in vinyl could not be done. I assumed quoted price included materials. It did not. The workman who did the other jobs (repairing stairs, cutting off a door, fixing an ill hanging door and repairing two cabinet hinges) did a good job. However the scheduler corrected the price and quoted $1257 for the work accomplished, which only took 6 hours. That is over $200 an hour. Happy with the work, unhappy with the price.

"Sorry for any frustrations Jan. Our guy could have taken 4 times longer if it would make you feel better about an hourly. Some guys are quicker and some take longer, most people appreciate the quicker ones. But yes, we almost always provide labor only estimates as most customers know the materials they want and have them ready to go. It's on our estimating sheets, it's on our paperwork, and it's on our website. Sorry for any frustrations, but this is how we help customers save as most other contractors don't disclose this, but they will mark up materials 50-100%. We allow customers to purchase their own materials to save money and they love it."

Joe fixed our bathroom leak by replacing the faulty hardware with the proper hardware and patched the wall back up and repainted the wall (with the perfect color match) where he had to cut out to diagnose. You can’t even tell there was a hole there. Joe took the time to explain everything to me of what our issue was and how he fixed it. He was on time, explained how long the job will take, and very thorough. Very professional work. My husband and I will definitely use Cransten again for our house projects in the future.
