Cabinets Refinish
Below is a timeline of our communications and efforts to have the work completed
Contract signed 6/8/2024
2/12/25: John injured his hand no follow up
6/9/25: Denise followed up again due to no response.
6/13/25: John apologized for the delay, citing recent travel to Israel, and proposed scheduling dates however, no further communication followed.
6/21/25: Denise requested a follow-up call.
6/29/25: Denise made another follow-up request.
7/13/25: John visited to assess the outstanding work and assured us that he would follow up by the end of that week.
7/20/25: John informed us of a delayed response due to leaving his phone at the shop.
7/25/25: Denise again reached out, requesting resolution. No response was received.
8/1/25: John committed to coming out on 8/9.
8/9/25: no show
8/26/25: I emailed Marcia(wife), who assured me John would follow up with a call on 8/14/25. No such call was received.

11/17 John come out rake cabinet door go repainting
Returns doors a few days later for three doors that were taken were darker than the initially installed doors. John then said that the doors would lighten overtime since the old doors had been up for over a year. The paint is now peeling less than three months later there is multiple text exchanges between October 2025 and November 2025 there is also a door that is broken. The John stated could be fixed by putting toothpicks in the door or finding someone on my own to fix the door. I ve reached out to John regarding the warranty and have been given the runaround. I have multiple text messages regarding our communication.
Despite multiple assurances and continuous follow-up efforts over the past several months, the matter remains unresolved. This has caused considerable inconvenience and concern.
This is the message that I sent the Contractor on November 30, 2025, which further outlines my experience: Good morning Jon,
Now that Thanksgiving is over and I ve taken a week after your last visit to gather my thoughts, I am sharing the following.
Working with you has been by far the most frustrating experience I ve had with a contractor.
You told me the job would take two months. Instead, it dragged on for over a year due entirely to your excuses and lack of professionalism contractors falling through, overextending yourself, issues with workers, and even sharing that one had a DUI and wanted you to pay for a breathalyzer. Eventually, you admitted you should have only agreed to build the cabinets.
Painting defects were blamed on an inexperienced worker, and despite my flexibility, you repeatedly no-showed due to injuries, a flat tire, having no workers, or being overwhelmed with your own home projects. Accountability was nonexistent.
After all this time, the work is still unacceptable: mismatched drawers, uneven cabinet colors, a loose dishwasher panel, a drawer off its hinges which you suggested fixing with a toothpick and trim you still haven t repaired. You then claimed the darker cabinets would lighten, even though you know they never will match. Now I m left paying out of pocket for a color match to correct your mistakes.
I can t ignore the feeling that if this project were on the north side of Chicago, the urgency and respect would have been very different.
I cannot ignore the fact that with all of these factors there is very little doubt that you will uphold any warrant.
I would never recommend anyone work with you. Your poor attention to detail, lack of communication, and disregard for people s time and money are unacceptable. It s deeply disappointing, and I hope you do better especially when working with other people of color. You should be ashamed

We needed someone with cabinetry experience to revise some of the existing cabinetry to accommodate a new wall oven of a different size than the old one and several other modifications and repairs. John has the experience and was very easy and pleasant to work with. Scheduling was also easy, and his prices are very reasonable to me.

Very well. They work fast and know exactly what they have to do. They also cleaned up. They covered my floors to protect my rugs and carpeting as well. John is very easy to talk to and seems very fair. He will come back with shelves and to put knobs on. .

No, the job is not done and im very disappointed. The job started in June of this year with replacing the cabinets and a new sink in the kitchen. Missing one of the cabinets doors leading the sink, they said that they will come back and replace it but they never did and we have it gotten out floor tile down for the bathroom which is also part of the project we have been waiting for them to come back to do that since September and now it is going to December so we are not happy about it at all Every time they say they are coming out they never show up or something always comes up. The project is paid for so if they cannot finish it we would like money back for the unfinished part of the project, or we will have to go into litigation.

I just can’t say enough good things about this contractor and his awesome team! They built all the cabinets you see in the pics, and I’m just over the moon with how everything turned out! The soft-closing drawers? Seriously, it’s like magic when they close—so smooth and quiet! They also installed a stylish beverage refrigerator that fits perfectly, and I can already tell it’s going to be the life of the party. And don’t even get me started on the concession bar they built; it’s like my home just leveled up in the fun department! What really impressed me, though, was how thorough they were. They followed up consistently throughout the process and even took the time to chat with my electrician to ensure everything was spot on with the outlet measurements. Talk about going the extra mile! They came out to assess everything before the final install, which really put my mind at ease. Plus, their pricing was super reasonable—I'm always keeping an eye on my pennies, and they totally understood that. I felt like I got such great value for what I received! Honestly, if you’re looking for a reliable team that’s friendly, professional, and knows their stuff, I’d highly recommend them! I’m just so happy with the whole experience, and I can’t wait to show off my new space to friends and family. Cheers to them for making my vision a reality!

Great!! I am able to store all my appliances and have a dedicated space for my stand mixers. The craftsmanship was built to my specifications and the materials matched my existing cabinetry. I would hire again on another project.

The project went well. A few cabinet adjustments had to be made with the hinges on the cabinets which was quickly taken care of. Overall, we are very pleased with the work. The crew was very courteous and professional and I would definitely recommend them for remodeling projects.
