Other than a slight delay in the starting date, and of course a late spring, it went wonderful. The 3 guys were great to work with as was Marlin. They worked hard and efficiently. Everything looks wonderful.

Excellent design work by Marlin. He drew up a plan that incorporated the style of the house and yard terrain. He assisted in materials selection and guided us through the entire process. Weather conditions delayed the project somewhat but that is to be expected.

Workers were very careful not the disturb cable wiring, sprinkler system. Very happy with VERY safe steps providing SAFE access to Commons area. Down a hill. Very satisfied.

They did a wonderful job. <br />Everyone was so polite, knowledgable and hard workers! <br />A real pleasure to have at our home. <br />It was a difficult job because most of the plantings they removed were overgrown. <br />It was jungle. <br />The end result was just beautiful. <br />Josh was very helpful and did not mind when I changed things around la bit. <br />They even made time to mulch another area for me. <br />I would highly recommend them! <br />I hope to have them back next year to work on another area on the yard. <br /> <br /> <br />

He was very professional and took time to listen to our needs and overall look we wanted for the yard. He delivered the items as promised. One of the plants was not the best quality and died shortly thereafter but the rest have survived and thrived. <br />

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and they were very good. They were friendly, timely, and he was a nice man to work with. I had them do some trim work around flowerbeds, and they charged me extra for that. He was very quick in his response, and everything was very timely. I was very pleased all around. The one draw back was that he was really good at holding the arrangement, but I was outside his area, and he still honored. It would be nice if that would be made much clearer as to what areas they service.

It actually worked out really well. The price was good. They came in on time. They did good quality work.

They delivered the products that we had agreed on. They came and gave an estimate to do our landscaping but no drawing or planning...just a final cost. It also took more than one day to typically get a return phone call. <br />

For an uneducated landscaper like me, this went ridiculously easy. Installer came out to see what was needed, made a few quick recommendations, and installed the plants later, and I didn't have to be home to supervise it. My only concern was that I had to call back for instructions on what plants I got and how to take care of them as no educational material was left behind, but I promptly got a return call with what I needed. <br />

Communication was poor from the start.  It almost seemed like we were more of a nuisance to them given that we prepaid for a deal that was offered online.   <br /> The majority of the plants looked very poor and weak at the time that they were planted, and I have already resigned myself to the fact that we will have to replace at least 6 of the shrubs next spring.  We raised concerns to Dakota and we were told to water them heavily and that they will be fine.  We have treated these in the same way that we have all other newly landscaped areas of our property, and this is the only area that appears to be destined to be replaced. <br />

The "Deal" said the owner was to be home (for placement consultation) at planting time. I was home but they never rang the bell or used a large brass door knocker I surely would have heard! They came and went and put the plants where <em>they</em> 'thought' I wanted them. [I wanted some in the back of my home. None were planted there.} As far as I know, no fertalizer was used and the root balls were not roughed up prior to planting. I pulled one dead plant out of the ground after 3 weeks and it appeared (to me) to be root bound.  I ended up replanting about 6 of the 19 remaining plants since they appeared to be in serious jeopardy of surviving in spite of everything having been watered faithfully for 4 weeks. <br /> I sent an unhappy email to the landscaper indicating my displeasure with the poor looking condition of the 6 shrubs and several of the smaller plants on the very first day. We shared some unpleasant correspondence and I explained I was angry because this 'planting' had cost me $350 and I did not like the results. The only result of our email "conversations" was that he directed me to a web site on how to get my soil tested. He stated that that was likely a part of the problem.  The hostas that were planted are doing just fine however.  <br /> I certainly do not feel I got anything near my $350 dollars worth of either plants, service or customer service. <br />

Snow and rain delayed the work by weeks, and like other service providers working outdoors during this remarkable spring of crazy weather, Dakota Landscape & Design got behind in scheduling and doing projects. When Josh and one of his workers finally came with the plants, both the plants and the work were terrific. The plants are healthy and attractive, and Josh and the other worker did an excellent job with the planting (taking care not to damage plants already in my yard) and were exceptionally patient as I figured out where I wanted each plant. In other words, both actual visits could not have been better. The delays, backlog, and communication between the two visits might have been better.   <br />

It's nice to work with a company that does good work at a fair price, No surprises.   They worked with us to design and install a boulder wall and planting layout.  We made a few changes along the way and they were easy going about the changes.  They showed up when they said they would and worked with us to make small tweaks to boulder placement.   It was a good experience all around.  There quote was good and the service was great.  I'm not sure how it could have gone any better. <br />

Josh came over to prepare a quote in addition to the deal and turned it around in an email quickly.  We met before the work started  to finalize the project.  Dakota Landscape was timely, responsive and finished sooner than I expected.  I loved the result. <br />

From beginning to end, Dan was wonderful to work with.  We were probably annoying customers since we kept changing our mind about what we wanted.  He was always polite, and came out a number of times to requote and provide new drawings, based on our changes.  The work was done quickly and well.  I would definitely recommend them.

The primary reason for re-landscaping the front (north) side of our home was because we were getting water in our lower level with heavy rains.  Since we had to correct the water issue, we decided it was also a good opportunity to give the front of our home a fresh and updated look. Josh Knutson, the owner of Dakota Landscaping, was not only extremely helpful in designing a plan for us, he went the extra mile to work closely with the company that was re-paving our driveway to ensure that all the grading around the house and toward the driveway was correct to direct water away from the house.  Dakota's work was tested within days when the Twin Cities received record rainfalls over a 3-day period.  We didn't have a drop of water in our house!  The whole Dakota team was outstanding.  The employees worked hard, were conscientious, careful, courteous and when I asked for some changes, they didn't hesitate at all.  I liked that the owner worked right along with his team and that their goal was the same as mine - that the job was done right and that we were happy with the end result. I would definitely recommend Dakota Landscaping to others.
