Creative Interior Solutions

It started out fairly well. It progressed normally until the first of may. There was a little slow down. Not very much contact. I am the one that had to place all the calls. Within a couple weeks there has been one day with maybe an hour or two of work. In the 2 week time period they were looking for roofing tiles to match the original house. We have selected one that fit with a roofing contractor on May 11th. It's been very slow progress since then and the last framing work was done May 8th. 

The job ended up costing 50% more than the original quote.  Yes, I did select an upgrade, but 50% is still a huge difference. <br /> The team they sent to do the work was new to their company and made some severe mistakes.  There was definitely not enough supervision.  At one point, one of the workers took off on vacation out of the country while another went out of state.  I was left with my kitchen torn up and many, many days without any work being done. <br /> The list of mistakes made is rather long, here are some highlights: <br /> -a cabinet hung without being anchored to the wall properly, the same with the microwave, which almost fell. <br /> -the flooring not finished under the appliances <br /> -my brand new oven dented <br /> -one of the carpets cut in the wrong spot so that the seam where they tried to fix it was very obvious <br /> -ceiling lights installed in the wrong spot <br /> -multiple delays with misleading communication ("the electrician will be there today" was repeated many times without happening <br /> -the cabinets were hung wrong, so that they had to be taken down and re-mounted TWICE <br /> -Numerous, random holes drilled into the back of the cupboards <br /> -Bad paint job, grouting smeared across new counter top that had to be scraped off with a razor blade. <br /> -Paint sprayed across the new flooring in multiple spots <br /> -Electrical outlets placed in ineffective positions <br /> -Wasted space in the cupboard layout <br /> The company did state multiple times that they wanted us to be happy and would fix the problems (the original crew was apparently fired after the mistakes became known).  However, once repairs started, it was apparent they weren't going to follow through on this.  The person in charge of scheduling the fixes was not helpful and argued over most the needed repairs. This dragged on for weeks with little communication and in some instances, the repairs made new problems (The new floor tile got scratched in 3 spots where they tried to get the paint off) <br /> So, overall I spent quite a bit on a job that has been patched, but does not look as good as if it had been done right the first time. <br /> <br />

Desert Eagle is the company's fabricator. . They were very professional, completed job within the 2 week period which was expected.

Creative Interior Solutions (CIS) recently completed a remodel and casita (pool / guest house) project on our new home / property. They provided excellent service and commitment to completing the job in a timely and professional manner. Skillfully guiding and supporting us through every aspect of the project. CIS’ general manager, Aaron Dockstader, was wonderful to work with! He pushed every phase of the job in a consistently, well organized manner; proving to have a keen eye for detail, strong dependability, and exceptional project management skills.

Sales - Great sales process, very responsive and very professional.  Joanne, Jeff and Wendy in the showroom and fun, understanding and very patient. Made us feel very comfortable. <br /> Sales Process - Very good, they come to your house to measure, you go to their show room to look at all the materials of the cabinet and get ideas from the stone and hardware samples they have. For the actual countertops, they will go with you to the different showrooms in town as well as for any hardware. I like the idea to purchase everything as possible with them. It makes it much more convenient and one stop shopping.  <br /> Tear out - Very good and very fast. <br /> Install - Also pretty good. <br /> Countertops - Took like they said, two weeks. We knew this well in advance, but it was still two weeks. Any and all mistakes that were made they handled it well. <br /> Project Management - Well, I am a stickler for good punctual PM work and told them this in the very beginning that this is the make or break for me. I give this a B to B- because they were very busy at the time. Not sure why, because we did not "rush" our job, we pushed it out a month before we started, so they should have had time to properly plan our dates. We did reorder or change some things which caused delays on our side, but still, the PM side could have been handled with proactive communications, being there and all. You can tell they had too many jobs going on and were short in their ability to control these from a communication side. That being said,  Cole, Rick, Jonathan, Gary and Troy were all great to work with once they were at our place. <br /> Price - You will always find a cheaper price somewhere. I don't think price should be a real issue. It should be your relationship with the designer and then with the PM team. While I was not a happy camper at all with the communications, I was told that they have assigned Wendy to 100% handle the customer service and communication on the jobs that are in process and that will be good as she will get it done. <br /> <br />

This company required a 90% down payment on the job. I found this to be quite uncommon and got a feeling of financial  instability. <br /> We were able to negotiate it to 65% initial payment, then the other 25% to be paid upon delivery of material. <br /> I felt uncomfortable with it; had an attorney draw up an addendum to their contract, specifying a due date for completion of the job. <br /> Job was completed satisfactorily, however I have never had any company request such an amount up front. <br />   I have been doing business with real estate properties for over 10 years, working with various individuals. <br /> <br /> <br />

<p>What a terrific team <strong>Creative Interior Solutions</strong> has! Jeff walked us through the design process with style and finesse. Cole, the contractor kept things going at a steady pace while Rick and Jonathan, the finish carpenters, installed the cabinets, put on the door handles and coxed all the components to fit. Carlos the drywall man and Gary, the touch up guys were magicians.</p> <p>And Clean! Everyday ended with vacuuming and checking that all materials were stored properly as well as looking to see there were no trip hazards left in the construction zone.</p> <p>The most amazing event of all was the time the remodel took. Jeff and Cole told us at the beginning of the job that it would take 4 - 6 weeks and it took six weeks on the dot.</p> <p>Thank you <strong>Creative Interior Solutions</strong> for a beautiful kitchen that we will enjoy for years to come. </p> <br />

From the very beginning Hiram was sooo supportive as we were in the planning stages. I am so visually challenged with no imagination, making it difficult to make decisions. Tile throughout or just in the kitchen? Dark or light? Ughhhh. Everyone on the team was incredibly professional. Always arriving promptly and so responsive to my questions and accommodating. I loved the perfectionism exhibited by Hiram, Cole, Anthony, Gary, and Adam from selecting products and design, installing the cabinets to laying the tile in the herringbone pattern with the 1/16th joints. (oops, Hiram. meant 1/8th. *grin*). Vertical blinds and lighting fixtures were covered securely in plastic. Touch ups were made without any prompting from me. Hiram and Cole were first to point out and correct any imperfections. Hiram did a massive search to find the leathered Black Beauty granite that I wanted. . No easy task. And the fabricator was amazing. The one seam and mitered edges are nearly invisible. All events were well coordinated. The entire project took about 4 weeks. EdenhouseI would most highly recommend Creative Interior Solutions. Love those guys. <br />

JoAnne and Jeff Rowe were fabulous in working with us to come up with a cost effective solution to what we wanted to have done.  First of all they listened to what we wanted and then they presented ideas for us to choose from in various budget categories.  Once we made a decision the contract was drawn up with line-by-line, item-by-item requirements and costs.  They introduced us to the day-to-day project manager - Cole - who oversaw the project schedule.  The tradesmen who completed the work were mostly on-time and all were professional and quality craftsmen.  They all paid attention to the little details.  At times some of the craftsmen would work 10 - 12 hours on site.  Everything went very smoothly and there were no cost overruns.  JoAnne and Jeff kept in touch throughout the project to ensure there were no problems.  Overall this was an excellent experience for us in working with this company - we would use them again!
