After hearing scratching noises, I found out that I had raccoons hanging out on my third floor roof and living in chimney. I checked Angie's List and called Critter Control. My first point of contact was with Jessica, who listened to my problem, then clearly explained their process and the possible costs involved. She emailed a contract to me immediately, and after providing them with some information, Steve and Bryan came out right away to assess the situation and make recommendations, which I accepted. They came by the house everyday to monitor the situation, and after the critters were gone, they installed 2 new stainless steel chimney caps, along with a dryer vent. I am so relieved that they could resolve my unfortunate situation in a professional and timely manner.

Ian returned my call the same morning that I left a message. Steve arrived at the stated time and examined my home. He quickly identified the animal that was causing the problem. He set a trap and caught the raccoon that night. The next day he came and removed the juveniles. Steve suggested some improvements to block access to the our house in the future. I had Steve install these and have not had any problems since.
I would recommend these guys to anyone.
They were fine. They came out and were very responsive. We never caught anything but they met my expectations. They set the trap. We just didn't catch anything. The guy called me back right away. He worked with me. His original recommendation was to not do anything until two days later unfortunately I can't do that because the roofers needed to close up the hole that the squirrel probably got in so we kind of switched ears. He came out and set the trap. He said that the squirrel may go out on its own but we did what we could do. We set up the trap in the attic. We did not catch anything but he called me the next few days to see if anything was different. He came out and checked it a couple of times although it's just as easy for me to poke my head up in the attic to see if there's anything in there but he came out anyway and checked it to make sure everything was good. They were good. I did not have any more problems after they got here but it was kind of a coincidence that the squirrel got out.

We contacted Critter Control after we had trouble getting rid of a squirrel in our attic space. Jake Kerr responded very quickly to our initial request and worked with us to trap the squirrel and seal off the entry point. He was professional and friendly and very responsive to our needs and requests.
I asked for a cash discount and he said yes. He came and did the work and handed me a bill for the full amount. I asked him about the discount, and he told me that he forgot. I suggested that he void the invoice and write a new one. He said he couldn't do that. I gave him a credit card to pay and he was upset. He said I had promised him cash, but he had also promised me a discount.

They were responsive but extremely expensive. The person, who came to do the job and check the situation was highly experienced and very good; but, the price for the service was very expensive. The overall experience was good; it took care of, the problem. I don't have another price to compare their pricing with because they were the only ones that came out. I would probably try to find someone else the next time because of their pricing.

I truly do not know how things went so wrong. This company had excellent reports on Angies List and my initial impressions were favorable. A trap was placed on my roof and baited and monitored every day, just as the contract stated. This was at the end of September. No animal was caught after two weeks and it was determined that we could safely move on to repairing the chimnies and capping them. The work was to start in early October. Critter Control had our check for almost $1,500.00, half of the contract price for the repair job. We heard nothing from them. Finally, after two weeks, I tried to cancel our contract and get my money back. Then we heard from them. They said that there had been illness and other problems in the office but that they were ready to start on our project and could we please give them another chance. My husband really wanted this done so he said yes. So then we waited. They would set a date to start on the work and then never show up. No calls. No re-scheduling. We had to track them down. It was so frustrating. We had to wait for November 28th for the caps to be put on, and when the workman left he failed to take down the trap that has been on our roof since September. It has not been baited or monitored since the beginning of October but no one has bothered to remove it My husband called several times since Nov. 28th and was assured that the workman would come to get this trap by Dec. 5th, something that could have and should have been done months ago, but no one came. When I emailed a complaint to Critter Control this morning asking that some one come today, I got another set of excuses.

I was not going to write a review because i do not like to be negative when I only know my side of the situation and I was hoping that my experience was not typical, but the attitude of the writer of the email I received this morning in reply to my own, was so hostile and unprofessional and the excuses about weather and illness were what I have been hearing since October, I think there is a pattern of irresponsibility here and others need to be warned off. Although I'm sure that Critter Control will tell you a different story. They seem to have a lot of them.

They were prompt. The young man that had his certification in wildlife was very good. But they were very expensive for what they did. It turned out to be a very costly situation for me to find out I didn't have a problem.

The young man was very efficient and good at his job. He did exactly what he said he would do. I have never had work like this completed before, so I wasn't sure what the prices would be. I thought the prices were very high, but their prices could be the going rate for the work completed. My neighbor ended up installing screens to block the access points for me so I wouldn't have to pay for that installation. I would use them again in the future if I have a problem. Now I am aware of what the prices could be though.

The only reason I gave them a D, instead of an overall F, is due to how quickly they showed up for the initial visit (coincidentally, this is the visit where they get paid). I ended up losing a day of vacation, waiting on someone to show up for the follow-up visit and the person who was supposed to come, never came. Apparently, my messages were being forwarded to a black hole. Finally, caught the flying squirrel without any of their traps and it took them 4 days to pick the traps up off of my front porch.

We called him to remove the live bird that had fallen down our chimney and was trapped in our living room fireplace behind the glass screen. He came immediately and removed the bird, which turned out to be a robin, to his surprise. He gave us a "free" estimate for chimney caps at that time and charged us close to $200 (which seemed high for critter removal that didn't take very long and didn't seem very dangerous). We decided to get the chimney caps and dormer seals because this was the second time in 10 years that a bird had gotten trapped in one of our two chimneys. The price for the additional work was high but seemed reasonable, given the materials and labor. It also included a 10% senior discount, which was appreciated.

I encountered the service worker as I was walking my dog and asked if he could take a look at my house, as I had heard a squirrel in the ceiling the previous evening. He finished with his current client and then came over to my house and examined all the points of entry for animals, putting up a ladder to look at the roof line area. By the time I returned with the dog from a brief walk, he had finished. He quoted a price for the trapping. One price for the setup and one for each animal removed. He also discussed the various remediation steps that he felt were necessary. They were all sensible. He asked for my email to send a full proposal for remediation. Several different service men came to the house over the next week to check and bait the traps. With each visit they left a brief check list report on whether they had captured an animal. and when the next service day could be. They typically came every other day. After catching three squirrels and then none. I felt that was sufficient time to have caught my "tenant". I reviewed their proposal for chimney caps and other measures and felt that it was a bit steep for my budget. I didn't have comparative prices. The owner of the firm said, by email, he would have the service man patch what seemed to be the main animal entrance on the final visit to remove traps at no charge. (That had been one of the items on the proposal)

I had some construction done and a little while later a found an enormous amount a mouse droppings in my pantry closet. I think this is the worst three hundred dollars I have ever spent. When I called them I explained the situation he told me that for two hundred and seventy nine plus tax they would send someone out a technician who will do a thorough inspection of my home, set traps as necessary and will come back two to four times, and they provide a written report. The technician came out and did a basic walk around my home, set like three traps, and gave me a written report. The written reports turned out to be a form with a bunch of check lists for other things that they sell. He came back the next day and emptied a trap and set new ones in their place. The guy then told me that he was not going to come back because he had done his job but that if we had a problem I could call them back. I called the owner and spoke with him and basically told him that he ripped me off. I told him that I could've hired my tax consultant to come and do the same thing with the same results. His comeback was,"But would they be certified?" Which I thought was ridiculous because I knew for a fact that the gentleman who came out was not certified. It was overall a bad experience.

Worked with Rob Puskas, he showed up on time everyday and was very pleasant I was worried about how the repair would look but it blends in to the surrounding brick. Would hire again but I hope I don't have to.

Critter Control responded quickly to our call. They came out to set traps the day after we called, and returned each day to check them and remove the animals. They say that they release them in a park. After all 5 squirrels were caught (that's a lot, according to them) they gave us an estimate to "squirrel-proof" (my words) the house. We chose to have them do most of the suggested items, with the exception of the chimney caps, which were thousands of dollars. They put mesh over the dryer/fan vents, the vents in the attic, holes the squirrels had dug, etc.
