My wife and I recently purchased a brand new home in the DR Horton, Stewart Crossings Community in Puyallup. DR Horton recommended two companies they used to build fences. CR Landscaping & Fencing was one of them. We called 3 companies, including CR to come out and give us bids. The 2 other companies were way over priced and tried to over charge. CR Landscaping & Fencing was the most reasonable. They also mentioned they have built a good majority of the fences in the community. So my wife and I decided to go with them. Our house closed late November of 2018. Chris the owner of the company said they were booked up for a while, but could start about 3 weeks after we moved in. Him and his team showed up on time and got the fence built in about 2 days. Overall quality of the fence is fair. Some damaged fence posts were used, not everything lined up exactly, but overall I was happy with the work. He said he ended up using a larger post by the gate and would need to get a custom post topper to get put on. He said the next time he was in the area he would just stop by and put it on. In our community we are also required to have our fence stained a specific color. He said when the weather cleared up he would come back out and finish the fence. About a month goes by and we don’t hear from Chris, post topper isn’t on our fence. We reach out and hear nothing back. A few weeks go by and we call and leave a message, and send him a text message, same thing as before no response. It’s now the beginning of February and we are getting emails from our HOA that our fence isn’t complete (Post topper) and it’s not stained. So we reach out once again and Chris finally responds. He apologized that he never got back to us, but he had some personal issues going on and was not working. At this point we just want to be done and finished with the fence so we so we tell him about the post topper and stain. Chris says he will stop by this week and put it on, doesn’t respond about the stain. About a month and a half goes by and he still has not put the post topper on the fence and again isn’t responding to us. We finally are fed up and blow up his phone till he answers. He said he will put the post topper on the fence tomorrow, but he doenst stain fences. We told him he quoted us a price to stain the fence, and our community requires it. So how could he build the majority of the fences in the community and not stain them? He said he just builds fences and doesn’t stain them. At this point we are just so frustrated with his service we just want him out of our hair. He finally puts the post topper on the fence almost 4 months later. And now we have to stain the fence ourselves because our HOA needs it done right away. So my recommendation is to use a different company, pay a little bit more for better customer service. Because CR Landscaping & Fencing has the worst customer service I’ve ever had. And this wasn’t from a worker; this is from the owner of the company. So if he thinks its ok to treat us this way, what makes you think he won’t do the same to you?

Chris and his crew were efficient and professional. They responded well to our requests for a few modifications while the project was underway. They used good quality materials and the workmanship was excellent. They took care to avoid damage to plants in the construction area. We were happy with the finished product.

I requested quotes from 4 fence contractors. Chris from CR Landscaping & Fencing was the first to return my call, the first to come out to the house, the first to provide a written estimate, and the first to be available to do the job. His was also the lowest bid that I received. The team did an outstanding job overall including dealing with a couple of unique features to the property.

Fast, efficient, friendly. They did a superb job. This was a joint project where fences were removed and replaced in the back yards of four contiguous homes. Quite an interesting operation that was well-done. We've heard positive feedback from all the homeowners. Definitely a quality operation.
