I had a carpenter and he was laying down floors and I needed to put in a new vanity. So, he fixed it. He could put in the new vanity. He didn't fix it - the plumbing was there but, he worked on the vanity. He said, "But you have to lift it up and move it at an angle to get it off without having to cut the plumbing pipes." This guy kept insisting that, "No. It couldn't come off. It couldn't come off." So, I took it off and hurt my back doing it because I'm not used to lifting heavy things. But I took it off, didn't have to remove the plumbing and then he said, "No. You're going to have to remove it. You can't put it back. You can't put it back." I said, "No. Just leave it alone then because  I'm not going to pay you to put in more plumbing." But when I left the room, to get something, he cut the pipes and then put the thing back and charged me extra because the pipe had to be cut. Now, if the carpenter could do it, and I could do it, I don't understand why the plumber couldn't do it. I had to spend more than the big deal amount. I was very disappointed in the fact that he couldn't do what everybody else seemed to be able to do. He seemed like a very pleasant person. He came when he said he would.

On Monday morning we woke up with no heat.  At 8:15 AM I called Cuddy Brothers and spoke with Chris. He said they could come out in the afternoon, and asked that I text him the address.  He also said he might be able to get there sooner, and that he would let me know within the hour.  He called back about 45 minutes later to say he would be there in about 30 minutes.  He was friendly and professional on the phone and in person.  He assessed the situation, listened to my description of the noise the boiler was making and what we had already tried, and was quickly able to diagnose the problem.  He didn't have the part in his truck, so went to get it from his shop. He replaced the part, made sure everything was running again, then gave me a tutorial on how the system works.  Although the job took more than an hour as he had to go to his shop he only charged for an hour of labor.  The part was $225, and the labor was $150, not cheap, but seemed fair to me.  He also offered to talk with my husband by phone if he had any questions. We would hire Cuddy Brothers again, and are happy that we found a local plumber to work with. <br />

This is an A+++ company. <br /> I had no heat during the frigid temperatures in Boston on Friday, <br /> February, 20th, 2015. I received The Cuddy Brother's name through a <br /> friend's recommendation and immediately looked them up on Angies's List. <br /> An A listing prompted me to call them along with several other calls <br /> placed to other plumbing/HVAC contractors. Chris Cuddy called me back <br /> Saturday morning within 20 minutes (I began my calls before 8am as I huddled in 40 house <br /> temps). He said he'd be over in 30 minutes once he was <br /> done with another job! The other companies said they would be able to <br /> arrive by end of next week - I did not sleep the entire night as I <br /> worried about frozen pipes so this was not an option. I want to note <br /> that this is an extremely severe winter with over 9' of snow and frigid temps so I'm sure the <br /> contractors are super busy. I'm sure Chris Cuddy worked late into this <br /> day after fixing my heat. He and his worker was very easy to speak with, <br /> efficient with diagnosing my heating issue (ignition switch) and had the <br /> furnace back to running that morning. I couldn't have been happier! I thought my disposal had died and would need replacement.  One of Cuddy's plumbers showed up promptly, despite snowy streets, and got it going with a couple of simple moves; he would only accept payment for his time and the trip.  He also showed me what to do if the situation recurs.  Considering that he could have sold me a new disposal and made a lot more money, I appreciated his ethical choice in doing the repair and then showing me how to deal with it in future.  <br />

Fast, friendly and efficient service.  Spoke with Chris at 8:30 a.m., two plumbers were here by 9:30 a.m.  They went out and purchased a new garbage disposal and installed it - got everything quickly working again.  Even checked an issue with our water heater (above and beyond the reason for the original call...).  Highly recommend! <br />

Unfortunately the repairs they did have not completely resolved the issues with the faucet.

The water heater replacement went really well but they haven’t called me when I wanted more services.  They went above and beyond to make it elevated in case my basement flooded again.  Two or three people came out.

He originally came to do a consultation since we had a very old toilet that needed replaced. He could not find a current/modern toilet that fit our measurements. When I finally found one that may work, he never responded to my requests and never had the work done.

Installed water heater after we purchased it from the store and brought it home to cut down on cost.

They came out and did the work back in 2012. We did have an older home and they had to go buy a new part. They did the garage disposal fix for me.

The drain assembly on my bathroom sink gave out after twenty years or so, and there was no way I was going to be able to get the darned thing off without a hacksaw. So I purchased a "Big Deal" from Cuddy Bros. to put on a new faucet and drain. They showed up on time, wrested the old drain assembly off, and put on the new faucet and drain without a hitch. It went quickly and smoothly. Six months later the installation is still fine; nothing leaks. I am completely satisfied.

It turned out okay. I had them fix some stuff. They replaced cartridge on 2 faucets. I had the cartridge and they just replaced them. 2 employees came out and it took them less than an hour. They did exactly what I wanted them to do. I thought their price was quite high.

I noticed this leak in the morning when I was down in the basement.  I called Cuddy Brothers at around 11:00 AM and they showed up as promised two hours later.  They quickly diagnosed the problem, took up the toilet and replaced the old mounting flange.  They worked quickly and knew exactly what they were doing.  They were conscientious above removing all the old material and cleaning up after they finished.  The entire repair took about an hour and a half and was done very satisfactorily. <br />

Scheduling was easy. The provider came on time and did the job in a professional manner. The valve needed to be replaces along with some other boiler work. They happily did both work and charged a nominal fee. Would use them in future. <br />

They did a great job.  They came on time, whipped the old disposal out and popped in a new one quick.  I had no complaints at all, it was done quick and done well. <br />

They were in and out quickly.  That was the best part.  They don't dawdle around. Did visual checks on wall & floor  to reassure us we don't have a problem from an earlier leak.  Checked 3 toilets,of which  were still running after I had replaced guts myself. (amateur work).  Replaced the guts of 2 toilets.  All above took about 45 mins).  Said they could return next day to replace kitchen faucet.  They were in and out within 30 mins.  Overall we are very pleased with results, however I was surprised at $650  cost. <br /> I thought it would be closer to $400, considering they charge $130/hr labor.  They were here about 1 -1/2 hrs total.  I didn't think parts costs that much.  But then, I didn't do much more research either. <br /> I am a new Angie's List member; I never saw any deal, but did choose this plumber due to Angie List recommendations. <br /> Chris was personable and professional. I assume he's very busy, since it took me a few calls & texts before we got an appointment.  We are pleased with them and their work: I was just surprised at the total cost.  That's probably more a reflection on me --and what I don't know -- than them. <br />

They performed the faucet replacement quickly and did a good job.  Additionally, I had them look at a leaking bathroom faucet, which they recommended be replaced since it would cost the same to fix it and it would probably leak again (I appreciated the honesty).  They also replaced a leaky check valve for my sump pump.  All activities took much less than an hour, but they have a minimum charge of an hour's fee. <br />

This deal went really well. The scheduling was pretty easy, and I don’t remember that being an issue. I pre purchased the faucet and they installed it. They were on time and professional.

Bought a big deal and called to schedule a date for replacement of a toilet. On the day, had to call Chris, as he had forgotten about the appointment!  However, he was very nice and apologetic, and made time to come that day.  The work was done quickly and Chris was very careful about tracking dirt in the kitchen. <br /> We love the new toilet, although now after about 6 months, it has started to wobble a bit.  Not clear that this is related to installation per se? <br /> <br />

I had two jobs one was very good as the senior plumber installed the new water line for fridge for the regular price and brought the connection valve which I asked for and hooked it up the second day. The second job to install the toilet was done by a young man. It leaked from the toilet right away. They came back and the senior plumber tightened things up. It did not work and they have not responded. With toilet fluids leaking onto me good floor. I hired another plumber who took the toilet off the floor and showed me the broken flange that should have been replaced. Toilet was sitting on it and having been separated from old toilet was stuck to it most probably. It was no good. He came back and changed it and reinstalled the toilet. It does not leak. That should have been obvious to any untrained eye. A plumber would have seen it. The young man was getting trained. The senior plumber should have taken toilet off. <br />

Chris was very responsive and professional. He was quick to get back to us and gave us a fair price. We scheduled the work the following day and he patched the leak right away. He also followed up a second time to confirm leak was stopped as well as reaply epoxy. Good experience overall and happy with his service. <br />
