I could not recommend these movers. While the owner, JC was very friendly and helpful in setting everything up on the phone, and they were available the day I needed on fairly short notice, so many things went wrong and my move was extremely stressful. The movers arrived late. They used my tools to disassemble furniture, dumped a socket set everywhere, and didn't organize them. Packing went way over the expected time, past my management companies hours, at which point they were going to charge me extra. Movers started rushing, being careless. They left many items behind, completely didn't pack a closet. I ended up spending several hours moving stuff they missed. Movers got into a verbal altercation at the moving truck with each other. I had to walk away because I thought they may start physically fighting. They crammed stuff completely wall-to-wall in the elevator, knocked off the protective mats. At the destination, the movers tried moving the truck while the ramp was attached, and ended up hitting a neighbor's truck with the ramp. Amazingly, it didn't appear to cause damage. Again, I had to walk away because I just couldn't watch them. At the destination, the movers requested that I unload a wardrobe box so they could re-use it (seriously?) I complied, and when I came back downstairs, I noticed the strong smell of gas in the kitchen. One of the movers had bumped the knob on the range, left it pouring gas into the kitchen, and NOBODY NOTICED!? THE MOVERS NEARLY BLEW UP MY NEW HOUSE! Liquor bottles were packed upside-down, leaking everywhere. Water left in a kettle when it was packed - everything was wet. Original canvas paintings were placed in a wardrobe box, no protection from each other, and damaged due to the corners of each other. Basically all but one of my lamps were broken. Broken glasses, bowl, missing parts to my keyboard stand & coffee table, scratched my desk, damaged the apartment walls. A wall clock went completely missing. None of the boxes were labeled, so at the destination, everything ended up on the first floor except for wardrobe boxes - many of which didn't actually contain clothes. I was moving boxes up and down constantly during unpacking. On the plus side, I was reimbursed for the lost/damaged items. It took a month and a half to get the check, but I did. I've hired movers several times now, and unfortunately, this was the worst experience I've had. Sadly, I cannot recommend them.

The purchase I made was for 3 hours which I thought was plenty for a 1-bedroom apartment sparsely furnished. They were an hour late arriving on the agreed time, took 7 hours to finish the job. I paid $400 cash on top of the $480 purchase. They took their time slowly packing and wrapping everything for "protection". Well, they broke one table and scratched up another pretty badly. On the broken table that's unfixable, JC agreed to file an insurance claim. It took 2 months of follow up and several phone calls and e-mails for him to agree to a $120 claim settlement. 3 months later, the claim is still unpaid and he stopped responding to e-mails. I filed a complaint on BBB only to find other complaints have filed against this company and BBB has an alert on their website that they have trouble getting in contact with this company... they changed their name, phone number, but still operating the same type of business... still unprofessional and untrustworthy, just under a different name.

I found them on Angie's List. I had a few issues with them. The movers were very nice and very easy to get along with, but they put took things apart and lost pieces. They did not put everything back together again and when I called to find out where they had put the pieces I never really got follow up on that. I found the pieces under my bed, which makes me think they were hidden and that they did not want to put them together. I liked the guys who moved me, mostly. But it was also them who did not finish the job. I still do not have the dresser mirror put on my dresser after all this time. They were tired, it was a long day and I understand that. They knew I was a single person moving and did not have anybody to help put those things together for me and still they did not put those things together. They dropped some things too that I clearly labeled breakable and fragile. They got broken. And I know how to pack. I have moved eight times. They never did get back to me where they left the pieces. I just found them on my own.

Phone was picked up right away with immediate offer of same day service. Price was discounted appropriately for moving the one piece of furniture. The team was slightly delayed as they were finishing up another job. However, they kept us informed every step of the way to ensure our schedule was not impacted. On arrival they were courteous, set up the track and padded walls and stair appropriately. They moved the item efficiently without any problems. A+++ service. We would definitely use them again.

It was a 185 lb. sofa bed & the job was complicated when the porch wall the were originally using appeared to be unstable. They went into action for plan B and with good cheer and a positive attitude got the sofa up, onto the porch, out of the packaging and situated in my apartment.

Movers were nice guys, enjoyed their work and joked with each other to pass the time. They constantly were lifting, carrying, wrapping furniture, and working throughut the experience. Because of some minor issues on the delivery end, through no fault of the movers, they had to stay beyond the contracted period but the overtime was very reasonable.
I would definate recommend Culmer Moving to anyone who needs a mover.
They had a LONG day! Unfortunately, we weren't quite as prepared for the move as they were, so they had to do the mover dance around a lot of unpacked items to get to the furniture. They took very good care of our belongings, disassembled where necessary, packed and padded carefully, and got everything moved into our new house. I have a lot of "stuff." They put it all in the proper rooms, and even got rid of a few things in the new house that were left by the previous owners. They were friendly and professional, and the owner very quickly followed up on any phone calls that I made to him. I love working with local businesses, and would definitely use them again.
The movers were on time and the start of the move went smoothly. Our remaining things (we had packed & moved quite a bit of it ourselves beforehand) were packed professionally on the 18th and were to be moved to our new home on the 19th...so we thought. Honestly, I do believe that the movers went above and beyond to make sure we were pleased with the service but it fell apart. We had went to the old house on the 19th to see to things were going, which was fine so we left the movers around 1 pm to do their work but before we left, I did ask for an estimated time when they thought they would arrive. which I was told a few hours later and I was fine with that. 7:30 that night my things had still not arrived so I got on the phone to call the owner and got the answering machine twice, left messages begging for the owner to call me but no return calls came until Monday evening when it was time to collect. I had also gotten the cell number for one of the movers so I called it....no answer the 1st time so I left a message. About a half hour later, Donny returns my call, sounding half dead...I felt sorry for him and the rest of the guys so I suggested (not insisted) that they hold off on delivery until the next day. Turned out that Donny lied to the rest of the crew saying that I refused delivery until the next day (which was not true) and they should pack it in and go home for the night. Monday afternoon, our things finally arrive but I was told that not everything was on the truck but not to worry. The bedrooms were setup and the boxes were put where they needed to go and the "move" finished around 7:30 that night with me buying dinner for the guys. The Owner finally called me to settle up on my bill and apologized for falling asleep and not hearing the answering machine, apologized for the miscommunication and the inconvenience my husband and I went through but did not offer to take anything off my bill....I insisted on and took $200 off which he agreed to, bringing my total to $2,149 which I paid in cash. In the conversation, the owner offered to go back to the house to get the rest of our things free of charge which I turned down because I didn't think at the time that it was so much and I could handle it myself. My question is....You got two panicked calls from me Sunday night...Why did it take another full 24 hours to return ANY of my calls when we had no clue where our things were and if it was safe?? Did you sleep 24 hours? I don't think so.....It was just too much effort for you and you couldn't have cared less to be completely blunt.
The next day, my husband and I went back to the old house to see what was left and were shocked....pieces that I had insisted were moved were left inside the house..my printer that I use in my business was left in a black garbage bag in the alley behind the house in the alley along with other items, enough to fill the trunk and backseat of my car. There was so much left that we had to rent a UHAUL and hire someone else to get it out which we finally did on 10/23.
In the days later, we discovered that my husband's Oxycontin medication that he needs to live, was taken from his dresser during the move in on 10/20. No one but the movers were in the house so it narrows it down as to who did the "borrowing". They took 26 20 mg pills and was "kind" enough to leave him 8 pills to make it on nearly a week until it was time for the next refill. My 91 year old husband had to suffer nearly a week at the hands of these people. This medication was supplied by the VA so I had to file a mandatory police report to get the VA to replace the pills, which they finally did do. The owner was called BEFORE the VA was and was told exactly what I had to do and he told me to do what I needed to do and that he would do some checking but he had his suspicions who might have taken the pills....YEAH RIGHT...He has yet to pick up the phone and call me. What a way to run a business!
I really hated to have to write such a negative review but I'm not going to lie either. I don't lie in my arts business which I've run for 32 years and I won't lie to save someone's a**. What happened is the absolute truth... I couldn't make this stuff up.....my imagination isn't that good. Can I honestly recommend this moving company to anyone after our hellish experience? NO!!!! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! Don't try to save a few bucks...you'll be sorry you did.

AWESOME....AWESOME....AWESOMW!!!! I had three movers show up, the weather was horrible (rain) but that did not deter them. All three of them were very professional but NOT snooty. Was able to conversate with them when I needed to and they were not put off. Wrapped everything (even if I said it was not needed. The move was not easy yet they got furniture out that needed to get out. I would Highly recommend them again. Thanks to Bill, Tim, and Shawn. Funny, energetic, and most of all efficient. They made my move easy. Great Job!!!! A+++++++ rating in my book.
