This was our second experience with Custom Application Painting. We had worked with them originally in July to repaint the interior of our home. I was so happy with the work they had done for us before, I couldn't wait to work with them again. Like before Custom Applications Painting took the time to understand what we wanted and made helpful suggestions. Because they did work on the inside of the home they were able to compliment the outside with new colors that tied the look of the home together. We have had several compliments from our neighbors on how nice the house looks. We will be working with Custom Applications Painting again!

My husband a I recently bought our first home in the summer of 2018. The first improvement on the list was to repaint. All the walls throughout the house and the master bedroom baseboards were painted a very unpleasant brown. Being someone who grew up around construction and worked for a remodeling company I have a good eye for quality work. Custom Applications Painting exceeded my expectations. Our initial consultation was wonderful, they understood my vision, preferences and helped narrow down my color choices. When it came down to getting the job done Custom Applications Painting were quick, efficient and respectful of our space. They even made our deadline before our housewarming party. I had several friends and family members complement the work they had done and some even took pictures. Our house is now a home thanks to Custom Applications Painting. I will be working with them again on our next project!

100% satisfied by the work Frank and his team did, high quality work and excellent service. The attention to detail was amazing, not something you see very often these days! Thanks Frank!

Our house had not been painted in decades and we were selling it and obviously want it to look nice. Frank and his crew were great, they did everything on time, on schedule and with very little disruption. The house looked fantastic and sold within days, I am sure not in small part to their great work. We were very impressed with their professionalism, care with everything, and willingness to explain what was going on. There is no doubt they take pride in their work. We would hire them again and in fact will be for the house we bought. Highly recommend.

The entire experience exceeded my expectations! I live over 100 miles away from a rental unit I had just purchased. I used Angies List to find a professional painter for me. In case you're not aware, Angies List has this neat feature that I think is extremely time saving. You let Angie know what your looking for and THEY contact the trades people for you. It was only 5 minutes after my posting that Misty at Custom Applications Painting called me and set up an appointment to go take a look at it so they can give me a written estimate. That was impressive since this was a Saturday of a 3 day weekend! By Sunday night, I had signed the contract and they began work on Monday morning (of the 3 day weekend!) They usually are booked in advance, but due to this being an inside job and the rainy weather, their current jobs had been postponed, so I really got lucky! Everything was completed within 3 days and when I met Frank there on Thursday, I couldn't have been happier! The job was complete & very well done. Frank walked me through the inside, pointed out different things to me regarding door stops and such, and then he thanked me for my business. I couldn't be happier. Thank you Custom Applications Painting!

Frank and his partner did an amazing job! My wife and I are expecting twins and had tried to paint our nursery. We started with 1 wall which ended up not good at all! Frank and his partner came in and took everything as is and did an exceptional job. They were quick at responding and fitting us in their schedule. Also showed up early to the job and showed great professionalism. The now completed room looks great and we couldn't thank them enough. Definitely will be using them again for other services and recommend them to anybody looking for a great job well done.

Frank and his crew were awesome. Showed up early every day. I can not find one flaw in their workmanship. They did an outstanding job. They went above and beyond to use the best materials and explain things along the way. Very friendly and courteous crew. In an era of unresponsive or poor quality contractors, Frank and Custom Applications shine. Keep up the great work. I would happily recommend to anyone.

This was the WORST experience I've ever! Custom Applications said they would be at our house on Friday to power wash, let the house dry over the weekend and then Monday to start prepping for painting on Tuesday. They started to power wash on Friday (9/2/2016). When Frank arrived he asked if I had any questions: I SAID I WANTED TO MAKE SURE HE KNEW I WANTED THE FRONT DOOR RED and I asked if he would also be painting the other side of the door (It was brand new and just primered). HE said, "No Problem." When they showed up on Friday they talked among themselves about not wanting to work on Monday. I stated that I didn't care if they started on Monday or Tuesday. We were asked to have our colors picked out on Monday so they could order/pickup the paint while prepping. Monday they called and advised they were going to go ahead and take Monday off (Labor Day) and would start Tuesday. I had no problem. This also meant I didn't have to have colors picked out until Tuesday. Tuesday comes and we have colors selected (gray body and white trim) and they prep the house and prime the house. Frank suggested we add another darker color to the roof line as it is "trendy" right now. At the last minute we reluctantly decided to add a dark grey on the roofline... Wednesday comes and we come home from work at the end of the day and the body of the house is painted the correct color but the trim is the dark grey (supposed to be only the roof line) Even our patio cover was painted dark grey. We were puzzled as to what happened. No painters on site. When I called Misty she said Frank thought the dark grey looked better on the trim and that our house would look best with TWO COLORS: Light grey for the body and dark grey for the trim!!! THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THAT IS: WE didn't want the house to have dark grey trim!!! We thought it looked horrible! When I said we didn't like it and would like the house painted with white trim like we had previously discussed they became offended that we didn't like their opinion and immediately said that if we wanted the house painted with white trim that (its apparently difficult to paint white trim) we would have to PAY THEM AN ADDITIONAL COST ABOVE the contracted price of $3500!! FOR WORK WE NEVER APPROVED. These people didn't even send me a TEXT and ask if I would CONSIDER the dark trim!!! They just thought it looked better! They then said because they'd have to repaint they won't have time to do the shed and the front door is out. They said the front door is an individual invoice and that it would be about $500! To paint a plain (doesn't even have windows) primered front door?? I immediately felt like we were getting taken advantage of and told my husband I won't be talking to Misty anymore as I feel like she's a "middle man" that's not communicating to Frank EXACTLY how we wanted our house painted... Basically, if Frank was doing the painting we needed to talk to him directly. My husband talked to Frank and they agreed the house would get painted with the white trim, the exterior front door will get painted red and the shed was included but NOT the inside of the front door... The next day (Thursday) we came home from work to find the body of the shed painted and the house had white trim. The front door was primered with navy blue primer or spray paint OVER grey primer... They did not work a full day. Frank painted a test spot with the "Most popular color red used for front doors". Frank told me if I didn't like that red, I would need to let him know what red I wanted by 5pm. (later I figured out he was calling it the "most popular red" because he ALREADY HAD this particular "most popular" color red paint in his garage and wanted to save himself the cost of additional red paint. I didn't like the red but selected a new red and let him know at 5pm. Friday they showed up and were painting the front door. He sends a text to my husband with a photo of the red door and let him know he only put 2 coats of paint on the door BUT if we want any additional coats it would be a separate invoice and separate "job". He thought it was odd Frank was saying this additional information IN A TEXT and was unsure what he meant when talking about extra coats and additional invoices... WELL, I now know EXACTLY what they were planning to do! When you get a contract from CUSTOM APPLICATIONS, it's NOT the end the financial side of business... I don't know why they even do estimates when they are already scheming to get more money out of you in the end... The PHOTO of the door looked great... WHEN WE GOT IN FRONT OF THE DOOR: It looked like a kid had painted it!!!! It was RED AND BLUE!!! The blue spray paint shows through like it was DONE ON PURPOSE!!! It CLEARLY looks like ONE COAT of paint AND the finish (matte) doesn't really look like it belongs on a front door... We were outraged at the quality of work done on the door, shed, brick and lamp... The blue is completely shining through the red. My door actually LOOKS red AND BLUE! The shed trim is not painted AT ALL, They got paint all over our brick (unpainted), my mailbox isn't painted at all and a lamp connected to the house is half painted!? AND they're showing up at 5:00 to get their MONEY!? When the job isn't done? As you can imagine we were upset. I was not looking forward to the walk through... They showed up with their kid on the way to his Karate lesson (in a rush) with no actual "WALK THROUGH" planned. We were so shocked by their unprofessionalism that I didn't really know what to say when their kid was FRONT AND CENTER. I told them the door was unacceptable and shed, lamp and mailbox are unpainted. She said that if I wanted ANOTHER COAT ON THE FRONT DOOR that it would be an ADDITIONAL $125 and that they'd have to reschedule and come back a few weeks from now! THEY DIDN'T EVEN ADDRESS THE PAINTED BRICK! The shed, mailbox and interior front door would all need to be on a separate invoice to be done at a later time!!!!!! THEY ACTUALLY THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE THEM MORE MONEY!!!!!! I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and just assume the INTERIOR of the front door was a "throw in" and that probably wouldn't be considered the same job... BUT THE SHED, MAILBOX, BRICK, FRONT DOOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHT should all be included in the $3500!? RIGHT? NO! Apparently NOT! We went rounds and rounds with these people (They were insulting and called us "cheap" and accused us of trying to swindle them into giving us FREEBEES!) We were accused of not having our colors picked out (I knew I wanted a red door, light grey body and white trim but I didn't know the exact NAMES until we started this process! (Frank also contacted a mutual friend of ours and started telling him all about the situation AND ASKED HIM TO MEDIATE!!!) These people are BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!! It wasn't until I posted a photo of their "Completed work" on Facebook that they actually CARED about our house and THEIR JOB! Frank immediately said he would come over and paint the door as soon as I took the Facebook post down!!!! He was going on and on that he runs a "successful business" and I could ask this person and that person about his work! WELL, those people don't live in MY HOUSE and that's all I care about at this point: FINISHING THE WORK!!! He kept repeating himself saying he painted some local news anchor's house... Apparently THAT made him famous!? The next day (Saturday, 9/10/2016) I was still upset but decided to assess the situation, see what needs to be done, determine if I need to hire someone to finish the work OR if we can attempt to do it ourselves. I went to Sherwin Williams bright and early after I realized Frank DID NOT leave the red door paint (which it states in our contract that the paint is included in the $3500). Instead of calling them and starting the war over again I figured I AM going to be the adult in this situation and just go and BUY the paint myself! There were several painters at Sherwin Williams that Saturday morning picking up their paint for the day... After hearing my situation a PAINTER IN LINE OFFERED TO PAINT MY DOOR RIGHT THAT MINUTE if I had the paint! WELL, we found out Frank bought a GALLON of t

I cannot say enough good things about Frank and his team at Custom Applications. This was such a good experience for me. The finished product was absolutely amazing, Frank was prompt, very clear as to what he was going to do and why, fair-priced and true to his word. I felt very fortunate to have found him. I will use him again in the future and recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for a painter.

Went Fantastic. My home is 17 years old. Frank and his crew has painted the entire exterior and interior of my home (see each of those reviews). I didn't hesitate to contact Frank when I wanted all my interior wood cabinets painted which included all kitchen, linen closets and 2 bathroom vanity cabinets painted. Frank and his crew arrived on time and immediately started prepping the job. The refrigerator needed to be moved out of the kitchen but the stove and dishwasher remained. They drew a map of the kitchen cabinets and both bathroom vanities. They removed all cabinet doors/drawers and removed the hardware. They numbered all cabinet doors and drawers and identified each on the maps they drew. They completely sanded each drawer and door. Frank uses the highest quality paint products and used an excellent shellac primer on all the wood surfaces to ensure an excellent adhesion of paint. Then taped/masked off around where they would be painting. The nice part was I didn't need to empty all the cabinets but did have to empty the contents of each drawer. They sealed off the kitchen and bathrooms like little paint booths but I still had used of the toilets/showers/sinks. I did lose the ability to use the kitchen to cook in but didn't find that an imposition. At the end of each day, they made sure I had use of each bathroom. The final product was a beautiful finish and new looking cabinets. I couldn't be more pleased!

My home is 17 years old, single story and approx 1400 sq ft. I have used Frank and his crew before with the interior painting (see interior paint review) of my home and now needed the exterior of my home painted. I contacted Frank on 4/28/16 to get an estimate for the full exterior painting of my home and back yard patio cover. On 5/1/16 I received an email from Frank with his estimate which included a list of everything that would be included in the final price. I accepted his bid and work was scheduled to begin 5/30/16 with the power washing of the complete exterior of my home. Painting would begin on 6/1/16 and take 2-3 days. I provided Frank with the 3 paint colors I selected. Having used Frank and his crew before, it was nice to know the same friendly and professional crew would return. On 5/30/16, Mike arrived promptly at 8 AM and completely power washed the exterior of my home which took less than 2 hrs. On 6/1/16 Frank and his crew (Mike and Brandon) arrived on time and began the prep work necessary (caulking, taping, removing the exterior light fixtures, etc). In like 3 hrs, my home was completely taped off and prepped for painting. The entire painting took 2 full days. Frank uses only the BEST exterior Sherwin-Williams paint and I have to say, the finished job is absolutely beautiful. It looks better than the day I bought the home new!! Kudos to Frank, Mike and Brandon who went above and beyond and produced a final product I am so happy with. Without a doubt I will use Frank for all my other painting needs. This paint job more than exceeded my expectation and I am so glad to have found such a quality painting crew. I would not hesitate to recommend Frank to anyone!!!

My home is 17 years old and approx 1400 sq ft. and it was time to have my interior painted. I have never hired painters before as I have always done the painting myself. I am a bit older now and not as energetic as I was so I selected 4 painting companies with "A" ratings to obtain estimates. Custom Applications Painting was my last bid and the owner "Frank" contacted me and set up an appt on Friday 4/1/16 @ 1 PM to provide an estimate. Frank arrived on-time, was professional, courteous and took a tour of my home while I explained what I wanted painted (I basically wanted every square inch of my interior painted including entire ceiling, all walls, baseboards, all doors, closets, everything). My home is completely furnished and I explained I physically could not assist with the moving of any furniture, etc. Frank was very thorough and took the time to educate me and explain the painting process he and his crew (4 man crew) take, and what to expect should I accept his bid. Frank was up front by saying he is not the cheapest painter but he does have an experienced painting crew, uses the best paint/supplies and will deliver the best finished quality and the job would take 5 days. Frank answered all my questions and explained that by the end of the weekend, I would receive his estimate. Sure enough, on 4/3/16 I received an email from Frank with his estimate. I have to say, his estimate was the most thorough I received of the 4 and listed everything that would be included in the final price. I accepted his bid and work was scheduled to begin 4/25/16.

On 4/25, Frank arrived promptly with his 3 man crew (Mike, Dennis and Brandon) and introductions were made. Frank again reiterated what to expect and what exactly would be accomplished that day and each day after. The crew then jumped into action and began the process. During the 5 days, Frank and his crew were the most courteous, friendly, funny and accommodating guys and it was truly a pleasure working with them. The entire crew showed great care with all my household belongings and even though this job required the moving of all my furniture including all closet contents, they NEVER complained!!! Every day they left, they made sure to reconnect my TV's, and no mess was left.

At the end of the job I was completely blown away with the finished quality. My home was put back together exactly as it was on day 1 except it looked better than the day I moved in 17 yrs ago!!! The paint job was absolutely beautiful and was just sparkling from ceiling to floor. Frank and his crew went above and beyond and produced a final product I am so happy with. Without a doubt I will use Frank for all my other painting needs which will be the exterior painting of my home.

This paint job more than exceeded my expectation and I am so glad to have found such a quality painting crew. I would not hesitate to recommend Frank to anyone!!!

Frank and his crew did an excellent job on a project complicated by existing oil-based paint. Everything had to be sanded and primed first, then painted. All the cabinets and drawers were taken out an painted separately. The crew was careful about masking off the cabinet space where things were stored. The crew was punctual, communication via email was timely and cleanup was good.
Frank's crew is amazing! From scheduling to double-checking with us about what we wanted painted -- to even accommodating a last-minute (and I mean LAST-minute) color change -- these guys are great! They were booking ahead weeks further than we would've been able to wait - so they squeezed in our little property and finished right on time, even asking to start early (which we weren't able to fit in). -- and sanding down years and layers of paint on some of the surfaces. Not a drop where it wasn't supposed to go. We are so impressed! We will definitely use them again for any size project.
Frank responded quickly to schedule an estimate for interior work before moving into our newly purchased home long overdue for interior paint. He asked many questions during the estimate visit and demonstrated detailed knowledge considering the age of the home, educated us on some things that had been done incorrectly in the past (oil vs. latex, importance of priming). The cost estimate was reasonable considering the level of detail we were looking for and the rough slate he had to start with. We had one trouble room with severely flaking walls that needed new texturing and priming, and due to the degraded condition he deferred to a drywall/texture expert whom he worked with in the past (who turned out to be great, too). Frank adapted with our schedule to get this task accomplished before scheduling his own crew for the rest of the house . Frank was gracious to offer some discounted painting labor in exchange to push back the agreed start date back one day, which we were happy to accommodate.
Frank and his crew showed up on time to start work and worked efficiently, pausing to answer any questions we had. The masking and cutting of edges was very well done, for the most part. A slight misunderstanding occurred on our part regarding level of detail not articulated in the contract, but Frank graciously accommodated part of the misunderstanding (oil prime some of the doors). Frank's crew provided other support with the painting labor, loan of dropcloths for us trying to DIY complete painting prior to our move-in date, and other gracious support. Frank expressed his dedication to customer service when we found some compound left on the wood floors nearly a month later that had escaped the dropcloths; he returned on a Saturday morning to help us buff them out. At that time we also communicated to him our concern for the protruding profile of some of the patches done and how the light caught them; Frank came back at no charge and sanded them down to get them more to profile, offering tips for adding the texture back. I feel Frank and his team went above and beyond, and we appreciated his attention to detail, commitment to customer service satisfaction, patience in explaining things to first-time homebuyers. We only highly recommend him and his crew.
Frank and Misty were very responsive and professional. I called them to see if the job we wanted to have done would fit in the time frame for the service on Angies list; the coupon was for two painters for one full day at $800. The area we needed painted was about 900 square feet and they wanted to set an appointment to come out and look at the space to give the green light on the service. Frank came out and was early, which was a very nice thing. He said that they would be able to perform the service in the time frame requested. We provided the paint, cleaned the baseboards and removed the light switch plates to help aid them in getting as much painting done as possible. Frank did offer to get the paint because he is able to get the paint at a discount, but we had a family connection that allowed us even more savings. Misty, the head lady in charge, was in contact with me through out the entire process, making sure that we had the day we wanted scheduled and knew everything that was going to happen on that day. Frank came with 3 guys to paint the house. They wanted to make sure that it would get done and done right. All of them were early, which showed that they cared and respectful of our time. I was getting text messages from Frank showing progress photos as the house was getting painted. They finished early and were flawless. Great cut-ins, no bleeding over, just perfect. They did two coats and we even had some paint to spare. Frank and Misty really performed above and beyond any expectations I could have set. I would, and most likely, will use there services again.
At Arcade Creek Kennel we have a unique situation. It is a business that is open from 7:00am - 6:00pm 7 days a week. We have customers coming and going all day long with their pets. Frank and his crew were able to accommodate all of my customers with the utmost respect and consideration. They were very polite and would stop work to allow our customers to be taken care of. When it came to the work that needed to be done our building was in really bad shape. The tile roof had been painted and the paint was peeling, bubbling and cracking off of every single one. Frank and his crew took special care in scraping, peeling and sealing the tiles with a special product in order to ensure it would not happen again. The roof now looks brand new. Frank also suggested we use Super Paint from Sherwin Williams as it is a great product to protect your investment. I would highly recommend this product to everyone. From start to finish Frank and his crew were very professional. Frank took the time to assist with our color selections. He has a great eye for colors and our finish product looks clean and professional. I truly believe we would not have had this outcome without Franks knowledge and expertise. I highly recommend Custom Applications to everyone. You will not be disappointed.
Sincerly,
Owner of Arcade Creek Kennel
Bill Adams
Frank Castaneda and his crew were excellent. They invested considerable time and effort in prep-work to ensure a neat, quality finished product. They cleaned up after themselves each day, stacking equipment and materials out of the way. They were also very courteous. We are quite pleased with the outcome. Our house looks great, and we highly recommend Custom Applications.
