Custom Paving

Nice crew, workers were very efficient, owner and his son kept us informed on how the project was progressing. The price was great and they ALWATS called back when I was scheduling the job.

They gave me a call the day I put this project through. Same day they came out to give me an estimate. Price was great so we accepted on the spot. Next day they called to schedule for the same day and the project was done. Great work and great service for a fantastic price on a driveway patch and seal coat. Would definitely use them again.

This company was great, and the customer service was excellent. The owner took it upon himself to explain everything about the project to my wife and me. I am a blind veteran, and my wife is my eyes, and together, everything was just planned. The crew cleaned up everything after and explained the aftercare and when I could use it. I am planning to use them in the future for other projects.

I called Custom Paving (also listed as Company Paving) for an estimate to repave my existing driveway on 5/12/26 I received an immediate response from Justin Stanley, the owner of the company whom stated that the business has been around for 50 years. Justin arrived to my property and looked at areas of damage in driveway. He informed me that the existing driveway was not in terrible condition and that instead of tearing it up for replacement, he could simply put a 2 inch layer of asphalt over existing pavement by putting a bonding agent between layers. I thought that seemed ok from my own lack of knowledge so I agreed to the quoted price of $5000. Justin and crew arrived on May 15, 22026. They did a little prep work like sweeping the driveway but, I did not see any special bonding agent. When the asphalt arrived, his team used wheel barrows to spread asphalt which was tamped down by workers and then later a smaller roller machine was used. Justin told me that I needed to wait 2 days before parking my 6,000 lb SUV on driveway. When job completed, Justin requested a payment of $5,300, which was more than the initial $5,000 quote, stating he used more asphalt. Justin also requested that the check be made out to JUSTIN STANLEY instead of Custom Paving (red flag #1). He instantly went to bank to cash check(red flag #2). Justin quoted a 4 year warranty on his paperwork but, it does not specify what the warranty covers ( red flag #3). Despite Justin telling me that I can park on new asphalt within 48 hours, I googled information on how long is recommended after having new asphalt placed. It was also warm with temps in high 80's. My google info stated 7 to 14 days of a waiting period and the 14 days if the vehicle was a heavy truck or SUV. Since I have an SUV, I decided to be cautious and I waited 14 days. The temperatures fluctuated for several days, hot in 80's, cooler in 70's. I called Justin on 5/27 to let him know that the asphalt was still soft, he said he would come to property so he could see what was going on, he never came. On 5/29 which was the 2 week mark, I attempted to use the driveway with my Suv using different areas as recommended. I started seeing tire mark depressions in the pavement. On 6/5 I called Angie to complain about his unresponsiveness. I also noted that on the day of the project Justin insisted that I made a positive review on Angie right away. I thought this was odd, (red flag #5). I actually decided to hire Custom Paving based on the positive reviews on Angie. He is using a very deceptive tactic to get positive reviews. He also wanted an immediate Home Advisor review which I told him that I would do later. On 6/8/26 I called Justin again to report problems with soft pavement and increasing tire marks in asphalt. He said that he would come to house on 6/10 but, he never showed and never called and seemed to have trouble making connection to my address and previous complaints. He promised to physically come to my address and reheat pavement and re-roller pavement, it has been an additional 7 days and he has not called to make such arrangements. I personally feel that he has no intention of coming back to my property to correct the issues. I wonder what his 4 year warranty is about because that was another reason I hired him. He does not want to follow up on his work. The quality of the asphalt seems questionable also, too many rocks that are already chipping away and leaving holes. I do not know what to do to get this man back to my property for correction of the problems. I feel like he has changed name of company from Company paving to Custom paving.

All the worker were courteous and efficient. I watched some of their work and they paid attention to detail in the preparation of the surface before paving. It looks great and I appreciate their workmanship and fair pricing.

After years of weeding and raking bluestone I have a driveway that looks like bluestone, a process called Lock Stone but no more weeding or raking stones back from lawn after plowing. I had another person start the job (new driveway) who has dishonest, constantly asking for money and would show up days late. As a result, the job he said woul take 4 days was less than half done after over a month. So I fired him and I went to Angi's and within a day I received 3 quotes. I went with Custom Paving and they started the very next day and were done in 3 days. Justin, the owner, was there every day and was very friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend Custom Paving. They saved me!
