I had Cutter construction replace my old 12 x 14 cedar wood deck with a Trex capped composite deck (same size), as I had grown tired of stripping and staining it every 2 years. I had done research on capped composite decks and found out they were pretty reliable now. They were able to reuse the old pressure treated deck framing as it was still in decent shape, and I had them replace the deck floor boards, all the railing, the stairs, and fascia boards with Trex Transcend floor boards, picture framing, composite shells over the existing rail posts, Trex Signature aluminum railing and balusters with a cocktail rail, and new stairs. I also had them put pavers at the end of the stairs as I had problems with my old deck stairs directly contacting the ground, and didn’t want that happening again. They did a really nice job with the picture framing which also helps protect the fascia boards as the picture frame overhangs the fascia boards. The framing they added to put the picture frame floor board on also looked to be done very well. I had them use the hidden fastener system for attaching the deck floor boards and that really makes it look sharp. Mike was very aware of problems decks can have if they are not done correctly , which my old deck had where the flashing between it and the house was not correctly installed causing significant water damage to the walls contacting the deck, not to mention causing a carpenter ant infestation in the wall. It got to the point I finally had to have that water damaged wall repaired the prior year for some $3500 by Service Master 380 (who did a very nice job). Cutter construction is a certified Trex Pro installer which I wanted as Trex will guarantee their work meets all the requirements their warranty calls out for the warranty to be valid. Cutter also sends in the warranty registration for you. Cutter’s estimate was the middle of the 3 estimates I got. I went with Cutter due it being a certified Trex Pro installer, having installed many decks, and due to the numerous discussions I had with Mike Cutter prior to them even giving me an estimate or me giving them the job. The final invoice was about $170 more than the estimate due to some minor changes along the way. As any issues came up Mike would contact me to discuss them. They were able to fit me in their busy schedule and got my deck done when they said they would. I also liked that they used saw horses to hold their material to keep from killing the grass. I am very pleased with the job they did and look forward to minimal deck maintenance from here on out.

<p>The crew at Cutter Construction was great. They came out a couple of days before the project was to start and answered any concerns I had moving forward. The crew showed up on time and was easy to work with. When they tore out the driveway and discovered additional problems they solved them while keeping the price as close to the estimate as they could. The crew a Cutter Construction identified some other problems that I wasn?t aware of with the property that was contributing to driveway and sidewalk problems and gave ideas on how I could solve them and they recommended companies that I may want to consult. I will be contacting Cutter Construction in the future for other projects. I would highly recommend Cutter Construction to anyone looking to get a driveway and sidewalk replaced.</p> <br />

When we decided to replace the existing garage in our home we contacted 4 companies to give us estimates. Mike was by far the most responsive to my call and met me for an estimate just a few days later. Not only was he the friendliest contractor we met with, he also seemed to be the most knowledgeable. He was able to quickly visualize what we wanted and give us a pretty accurate ballpark on the spot. When he sent us the formal estimate a few days later, I was amazed by the amount of detail and work that he put into it. He gave us line by line details on what he would be doing and how much it would cost. It was the most complete and open estimate I have ever seen. And the cost to add the garage was very competitive. He came in equal to or considerably less than every other estimate we received. So it was a no brainer—we went with Mike and Cutter Construction! <br /> The work started just two weeks later (considerably faster than the other companies would have been able to get to us). Mike was very open with communication. He would notify me every step of the way with which employees would be there each day and what work they were hoping to complete. He was always responsive to our calls and emails and made us feel like we were his most important clients—a feeling we have never had when someone works on our house. When a couple minor, unavoidable hiccups happened, he showed up on site that day (within 1 hour) to take care of the issue and make sure that we were happy. <br /> Ultimately, the finished product is amazing. We ended up going with a number of upgrades because his prices were so good. I am doubtful that we could have received the same quality for that price from anywhere else. Got bid one day and repairman was there the next day. Work took two days to complete and very satisfied with the results. Transaction was easy, billed in the mail with payment by check. <br />

Mike Cutter and his construction team were great to work with and provided quality work. We plan to use Cutter Construction again on a new driveway and sidewalk along with any other remodeling we may decide to do. We were impressed from the first meeting to discuss what we wanted, to the quick turnaround on the estimate, to the scheduling of when they would start and completing on-time. Mike kept us updated as the projects moved along and was on the job site checking to see if the crew needed anything and how the jobs were progressing, Mike and his team were friendly and kept the job site picked up at the end of each day. We are enjoying our new screened porch and look forward to using our two stall garage--especially come winter. Mike and his construction company was wonderful to work with and very trust worthy. I would highly recommend Cutter Construction to anyone looking for residential remodeling and new build.
