Unfortunately I initially contacted Dan to repair a broken connector tfI had contacted him 2 years earlier for same issue and he charged me a$100 service call for replacing 2 screws and at the time told me had get connector from the manufacturer as he did not repair that. It held a tube from my brine tank to my controller which he agreed to come back as asking initially for estimate to repair the softener..He then told me that my bladder tank was cutting on too frequently and needed air. He then fill my bladder tank with air, but I thought was strange as these are closed bladder tanks and would only need sir if has a leak. I subsequently received a call from Tim who told me he was Dan's partner and Dan had asked him to call me about my tank. I was advised by Tim to call back if my tank continued to turn on frequently as I may need to replace it to prevent over pumping of my well pump. subsequently called Tim back and he advised me to get a larger tank. I expressed concern at the time as I was out of work and did not want to replace if not needed. I reviewed my tanks height and approximate width and he told me had about 40gal tank. He said he could give me a good price on a much larger tank. However I specifically expressed that I had done ok with my current size bit maybe would consider going up one size due to budget constraints. He then told me the next size was $900 but that for just $100 more he could give me a larger tank. I advised that was a stretch for me and $100 difference was important to me as I had been out of work. I said I really did not need anything bigger but since he recommended it would save on my pump usage I would let them know. I subsequently got call back from Tim asking me to measure the width in my garage from wall. But I clearly expressed concern as I told him I did not have room for a tank much larger than mine as I also have an electrical box behind tank on wall and on other side my washer and dryer and also said that I had plumbing lines also running behind tank and my w/d so did not have much room. He assured me that the width from wall to dryer was sufficient. I agreed to $1000 price he gave me and asked him to email me a written estimate. He then told me to text Dan with my email and he would confirm price with Dan..i sent my email and written estimate request to Dan. I then received another call from Tim next day saying that the prices had gone up a lot since last time Dan bought tank. I got feeling he was trying to see if I would agree pay more. I told him that no way I could go any more as it was already a stretch but that I was fine with a tank just one size up from mine for$900 as no way I could pay more.. I also again asked for written estimate. Tim said they would go ahead and honor the original price they gave me. I then as a kindness, offered to pay for the tank when they were going to pick it up if it would help...and he agreed stated oh yes that would be helpful. I paid with credit card on 3/22 and got receipt but never a written estimate of what was included for the price as trusted their expertise and word. Tim referred to the good reviews they had on Angie's List several times and how good Dan was. The day of install I was working from home so I was not able to supervise the install. I did comment when saw the box that it was much bigger than I thought and Dan said "well Tim Iikes to go big or go home". I was shocked after install as I had my washer and dryer were crammed together and no space to reach the emergency shut off valve for my water line. In addition my water is right up against door jam which is entrance to my kitchen. In addition, I called and texted Dan and called Tim because I was surprised that a tank double the size of my smaller tank for 80 gallons was cutting on and off just as frequent as before install. Th whole point was they recommended larger tank to prevent my well pump from frequent use to fill bladder tank. It took over 3 weeks to get a reply from Tim and Dan with insufficient notice texts me that he would be at my home in 10 minutes but working by then. He just added air to the NEW TSNK but I told him that he needed to remove tank because it was too large for space and it was not saving me pump usage as they had advised. He called someone about a different size tank and then started to leave so I said ok you will let me know after weekend. His reply as he walked away with back turned to me and signaled with a dismissing hand " well I put more air in it". So I expected him get back to me but never heard. I continued to call and text him and call Tim as Dan's voice mail was always full and could not leave a msg. He also did not respond to my calls. I finally get a callback from Tim over 3 weeks later saying Dan was ill and he was having difficulty reaching him. I then told Tim have never had such poor service and install was unacceptable and larger tank was not saving me any pump usage and was concerned as Dan never tested the tank or pressure gauge just added more air and I felt it had a leak. Tim said oh no those ate never defective and after discussing my dissatisfaction that Dan should not have installed it with limited space and I was not confident with his adding air. He told me he was NOT Dan's partner and that he could do nothing without Dan's approval. But he gave me recommendations and pricing and no one measured space before installing. Unfortunately I said I would only deal with Dan as I then realized he was a spls proprietor. I then get another call from Tim over week later saying that Dan would agree to MOVE MY TANK OUTSIDE. I said No, he arbitrarily squeezed it into too small a space creating issues in my garage where the original tank was. Also he would have to reconfigure my plumbing thru a concrete exterior wall So I said No way. This was worst service and I felt initially they would honor and stand behind their work. I told Tim I can only deal with business owner and if not resolved so would just find another provider and Bill them for the expense to correct problem. So out blue get. a text from Tim now saying Dan would put the small tank in and refund $150. Again I told Dan that all along could have paiduch less for tank from my prior provider who never had a problem with. In addition to replace my prior 40gal tank would not have cost me$850 but much less. I told Him again and again texted Dan that what O asked for all along was one size larger than mine without such huge space issue. I never heard back and on 6/28 he shows up at my house without approval or an appointment asInow work from home but monitored call service...he texts me on way and will be at my house in 10 minutes I had put a customer on hold and opened the garage door to greet him, but he proceeded to come in my garage so told him we have to talk first as had another commitment would be late fo. He ignored me and proceeded to yo my electrical box and turn off my circuit breaker while I kept say I g wait Dan we have talk first as don't know what you are doing. He brought his son with him and in front of him told me that he brought a small tank the same capacity as my prior tank and a check for $150. I said again No we have to talk and he said well Tim said thats what you agreed to. I told him No I never said anything to Tim or agreed tto that and you can't just show up here without an appt. He the got in his truck and left and said well that's all I am going to do. I told him tank us an issue and he dismissed me with his hands as he turned his back to me and said" there' nothing wrong with that tank" and left. The tank was bad install from beginning and they gladly took my $1000 payment sight unseen because I trusted the advice I was given without ever seeing or having any idea how huge the tank was and how poor the install would be because he never consulted with me while I was working to let me know how tight and limited space would be. They have had my money since 3/22 and more than 3 months later he just shoes up without my consent or an appt. What a terrible experience. I do not trust his quality if work and now spent $ 1000 stuck with this incorrect tank and problem.

I have been using Dan from D & C for 15+ years and have been well pleased with the quality of service and products. He has been able to solve my problems with hardness and general water quality, one of which was a vexing problem with water-borne algae slime from the city municipal water system. Basic service call is $90.00.

Tim and dan know water and how to treat the issue at hand. Used them about 8 years ago at my previous house (which has had no issues since installation). So had them come out to assess and correct my water issues at my new house. They were very fair, friendly and prompt. I would highly recommend them!

My experience was wonderful from start to finish that began with my initial phone call.  I had to leave a message, but Tim called back the very same day to schedule Dan to come to our home for a quote.  They were very happy to accommodate my limited availability due to a hectic business travel schedule - pretty remarkable.  Dan arrived on time, was both friendly and professional, very conscientious not to track any dirt into the house (took his shoes off outside), and gave me all of the information I needed.  I called later that day (a Tuesday) to schedule the install, which occurred on a Friday of the same week - remarkable again.  On Wednesday, Dan came by with the agreement (again all professionally setup by Tim) and on Friday morning Tim, Dan and Karl arrived on-time with smiles.  Each one is professional individually, but together they are simply fantastic!  They reviewed everything with me after the installation was complete and cleaned up so well that you hardly knew they were there. <br /> Today, I received an unexpected call from Dan!  He called to simply check-up to ensure I was still happy and if I had any questions.  Follow-up after the service is complete and paid for - remarkable  yet again!  Tim, Dan and Karl are AWESOME!  They are professional, courteous, nice, and just plain nice to do business with:)  I will not hesitate to use them in the future and will happily recommend them to friends and neighbors.  Oh, and, we LOVE our soft water! <br />

Dan and Tim arrived on time and performed work on the softener and <br /> purification system.  All work was done quickly and right.  I am <br /> enjoying soft and pure water once again.  Dan and Tim are true professionals.  They want you to know what they are doing and why.  There was no pushy sales job in between, just good ole fashioned service and repair.  You can trust this team to do what they say, when they say and for all the right reasons.  Recommend D&C to everyone. <br />

The best way to earn word of mouth recommendations is to EXCEED your customer's expectations and. D and C Air and Water certainly did that in our case, going WAY beyond the call of duty - more so than ANY service provider I can recall in the decades I have been a home owner in the Tampa Bay area. <br /> I found D and C while looking through Angie's List for a water conditioning service that had strong recommendations and was located near our Land O Lakes home. Our old low end water softener and water filtering system had stopped function so I wanted to look at both repair options and the cost of a new, professional grade system for both softening and filtering water. <br /> If you are like me, you detest high pressure sales tactics, so I was delighted when D and C owner Dan and his assistant Tim came out and proved to be NO pressure guys. In fact after spending an hour with me to go over all of the options and answer all of my questions - then being told I would get back to them - they not only refused to take their standard payment for the call, they wouldn't even take the money for their half price coupon that I had printed out from Angies List! <br /> After speaking with my wife, we both decided the cheap old system was not worth repairing (it had many issues during its life span and it was very hard to find parts or service for the brand we had). We decided on a professional quality GE system with an advanced KDF water filtering system added and called Dan back. They had offered a very reasonable all inclusive price for each option they presented and I did some online research to find out what the equipment cost, so I knew they were offering a very reasonable price. <br /> They came out at the appointed time and did a great job of installing the system which has done everything we wanted it to do. Here is where the exceeding expectations part comes in. During our discussions Dan noticed the old softener was on a side of the house that had no water faucet (thanks to an odd decision by the home builder). Even with the water softener we had to wash our cars with the untreated hard water from the faucet on opposite side of the house next to our driveway. Of course, that left spots all over the car that had to be rubbed out every time. Dan never said anything about it, but when he knocked on our door to tell us they were done with the new system, he said, "Come out here, I want to show you something." <br /> So when we went out to look at the system Dan shows us that he had installed not one - but two new water faucets as part of the new water softening/filtering system. One for treated soft water (for the car) and another for untreated water that could be used to water plants and the lawn. I was stunned, especially since he didn't charge an extra penny to do it the extra work and buy the extra parts! Truly amazing in this day and age. <br /> We hooked up hoses to each of the new faucets - one with an extra long hose to reach the cars with soft water (no more spots!) and one for watering flowers, etc on that side of the house. We couldn't be happier with the value for the money we spent, or the exceptional job Dan and Tim did. I could not recommend them more highly and it is great to know they are just a call away if our system ever needs service. <br /> These guys don't drive around in an expensive fleet van and are not a franchisee of some bigger operation. They are just hard working local guys who have earned their stellar reputations by making sure their customers are happy. They are the kinds of service providers we try to seek out and we feel extremely luck when we find them. Thanks Dan and Tim for a job well done! <br /> <br /> <br />

Because the part was under warranty, I didn't have to pay anything. He installed the water treatment system around 3 years ago and he's always been availabe to answer any questions and come out for servicing whenever I need. He's very knowledgeable about well water, which is what I'm currently on. I'd highly recommend his services.

Dan called to ask if it was convenient for him to come today to check my system. I really, really appreciate when people call ahead because I have big dogs, and Dan always calls. He arrived about 20 minutes later and checked the salt container and the chlorine reservoir. I mentioned to him that one of the tubes had slipped of place last week but I was able to deal with it. He proceeded to completely disassemble the tubing system, did whatever magic he does, and voila, good as new. He did not charge me for the repair even after I asked him to.  This is truly a conscientious business that cares very much that you are happy with your service. I highly recommend them. <br />

Called D & C water to help with an issue with our chlorinator at a mobile home park that services 14 residents.  The company came and explained why it was not working efficiently, repiped the tank, moved the chlorinator and repaired the chlorine pump.  They have been invaluable with their knowledge of the equipment and the county requirements for maintaining water standards. <br />

We have been using their services for years.  They have always been prompt and professional.  Each time they completed the whole job on the same day and made sure everything was working properly before they left. We have been consistently very pleased with the service and the materials/equipment used.  We highly recommend D & C Air and Water.

Contractor installed a badly designed system that failed to perform as promised.  All attempts to make the system work involved charging us more money to fix their problems of poor design quality.  Refuses to stand behind his product  and jgnores good faith attempts to settle the dispute. See below detail. We found contractor through Angie's list.  Contractor came out and discussed problem (iron staining).  He told us that normally they use a softener to remove iron.  We asked whether there was a method to remove the iron without a softener.  They assured us that they had as system that would do that.  We were quoted $2,150 for the system.  It was installed but did not work.  Contactor came back and diagnosed that our water was still colored due to the presence of Tannins and told us that tannins will carry iron in solution, so they adjusted the chlorine.  That didn't work. They then installed a used sand trap in the system under the theory that the water was not being sufficently chlorinated and the sand trap would "spin" the water after it passed the chlorine pellets to provide a boost to the chlorination process. Didn't Work. Substantial iron got through the D&C system to the extent that my independent house filters clogged completely shutting off all water. We had to replace our filters at a cost of $313.  They came back again and now diagnosed that the system was not working due to a defective tank bladder in the well pump.  They said that excessive air was not allowing proper chlorination. They said that the air tank needed replacement.  They charged us $600 more dollars to replace the tank. <br /> That also did not work.   We, finally had enough.  Declared that the system that they sold us simply could not perform as promised.  We sent an email asking for a refund and to pick up the equipment.  We even indicated our willingness to settle for less than we had paid.  This email generated a phone call from D&C offering to come out and attempt to address the situation.  Dan Crall came out and diagnosed that the water hose that went from his system to our residence was stained (with   iron and tannins and that was a substantial source of the iron into our system.  We replaced the hose at a cost of $23 with no major effect.  Dan tested the iron at the output of his system and with the new hose and it still registered 1.2 iron.  Dan said that .3 iron can stain.  He then told us that he could guarantee the iron removal if we added a softener.  We were not terribly receptive to this as the entire reason for purchasing the system from him was his assurance that the iron could be eliminated without a softener.  In any case, we discussed a possible compromise wherein Dan would provide a loaner softener for the period that we expected to be here at this location (no case longer than 1 yr probably less).  In return, we would return his equipment . (except for the tank bladder) <br /> He said he would consider and call us.  We received a call from Dan's associate Tim, whose solution was to propose that we pay an additional $300 for a well shock treatment and the installation of a used softener that they would rent to us for $35 month with the 1st 90  days free.  We were very cool to that suggestion and stated that we were not going to continue to throw additional money at a system that didn't work.  But, we left the discussion with an agreement to reconvene by phone the next day.  Neither Tim nor Dan called us back for the 2nd discussion.  Accordingly, we sent email #2, once again affirming our dissatisfaction with the system and asking to settle.  We extended an offer to settle for only 1/3 of our costs for this failed system.  We have received no response to our emails .  We have, also left multiple unreturned phone messaqes, as well. <br /> D&C is choosing to ignore us. <br />
