We highly recommend Curtis Daniels Landscaping, who installed 3 pallets of St. Aug. sod for us in late May. We’re two senior sisters who have never ‘done’ new sod before. Being over our heads, we had 5 landscapers do estimates. Mr. Daniels was by far the most thorough and informative, answering our many questions about turf choices and sod care. His sod is mud grown, which we’d read was better than mud/sand grown. We like that Mr. Daniels is a straight shooter who didn’t try to hard-sell us, but gave us clear pros/cons of different grasses and careful advice on lawn care. We chose Mr. Daniels based on his great reviews, his knowledge and competitive price for comprehensive installation, including hauling away yard waste. On installation day, his crew worked extremely hard and did a meticulous job, carefully supervised by Mr. Daniels’s son. For a minor fee, they installed several taller sprinkler heads for the thicker new turf. As expected, there was a half pallet left after the front lawn was done, which is what we’d contracted for. We asked if Mr. Daniels could leave the extra turf in the backyard so we could cover a rough area. Again, we’re vintage, retired ladies. Mr. Daniels insisted that, “he was raised better than that,” and his team would clear the area and install the sod. We insisted on paying for the extra work but Mr. Daniels only charged a minimal fee, despite adding an extra two hours to the job. That’s real decency and greatly appreciated in business these days. We followed Mr. Daniels care instructions and are grateful for our thick, luscious lawn. Mr. Daniels is a very knowledgeable, honest, and honorable businessman. We highly recommemd him and his skilled team of very hardworking men. Thanks greatly, all!

Daniels Landscaping irrigation LLC is a rip off business. Mr. Daniels appeared to be a respectable businessman when actually he’s a scam artist. We initially hired Daniels to sod our front yard remove a dead tree repair and replace some of our sprinkler heads and to show us how to use the sprinkler control panel because we were new to the home and did not know how to use it. Daniels initially quoted as a price of $2250 not including sprinkler heads. There was a tree company in the neighborhood and we had them cut, grind and to remove the tree for $450 which was $300 less than Daniels quoted price Daniels charged us $1500 for three skids of sod one actuality we only need it two skids. The sod he delivered himself was dried out and rotting at the bottom and when my husband questioned the conditions of the sod Daniels said you can replace it if you want. The sod had several inches of space in between most pieces and Daniels placed torn off pieces of sod in and the spaces to fill it in. It has been two weeks and there is quite a bit of dry sod. Daniel left the job and did not show us how to use the system nor did he give us an invoice. When he set up the control panel he did not clear out the times set by the original owner and the sod was being watered four times a day twice a day. We tried contacting Daniels through at least five text messages and phone calls and he did not respond. The grass was being watered to the point that it was sopping wet. My wife finally had enough and got in touch with him a week later by phone and he walked her through the process. Daniels charged us $450 to repair and replace 15 heads in the front yard and 2 in the he backyard. The sprinkler heads that Daniels replaced in the backyard are hitting our vinyl fence, air-conditioning and metal fence which will cause the paint to paint to anodize. We have had to hire an irrigation company to come out repair with Daniels did not complete. After sending Daniels an email letting him know our dissatisfaction he finally sent us our receipt two weeks later that states “no warranty or sod or labor” if we had known that he did not warranty his sod or labor we would’ve never hired him and this is probably why he would not give us a written estimate or receipt. Anyone that cannot warrantee their work is a rip off. If you check out the BBB you will see a complaint similar to ours for this company. Check Google also. We highly do not recommend this company. Mr. Daniels and his crew did an outstanding job. My sprinkler system is working once again. Mr. Daniels is well organized. Having some experience installing a sprinkler system myself, I found Mr. Daniels to be extremely knowledgeable, and his pricing is very fair. I have some additional projects for which I will be hiring Mr. Daniels.

Awful, This company came out to do a estimate and under estimated the amount of sod needed ( because he just wanted the job) so he under estimated & left a huge patch of my lawn undone he ran out of sod, also after a few weeks weeds started popping up in the sod like crazy I don’t think he removed enough of the old grass Also don’t use this company for irrigation, I had a broken valve paid this company to fix it then he got there said I need Two ok I paid for two, irrigation system still not working, i literally begged him to come look at it and he argued with me that it was already broke before him (well duhh that’s why I paid u to fix it he should have just said he don’t know how to fix it but of course he wanted the money) he said he would give me a refund I never heard from him again

He was very pro from the beginning he came for an estimate we scheduled a date and he came he was very knowledgeable and he did a good work for me. The estimates were matching. He did a really good job him and his workers. and I would recommend them.

Everything went well with the installation of sod and repairs to sprinkler system. Job was done in the beginning of December which means the grass was dormant when put down, therefore we are waiting for spring/summer to see how it looks! Hopefully everything will look great! Curtis and crew were very easy to work with and very knowledgeable about the job they were doing.

There were several steps that needed to be accomplished prior to the actual install of new sod. They kept their schedule and did a great job on all the work. I would highly recommend Daniel's Landscape and Irrigation

Mr. Daniels was initially prompt and responsive in taking my call for an estimate.  After receiving 4 other estimates for the same work, I decided to go with this company due his price being the lowest and due to Mr. Daniels' apparent quality of service.  After the initial contact and estimate, getting in contact with Mr. Daniels was a challenge, to say the least.  Numerous phone calls and voice mails to him finally got us to the point of scheduling the work.  On the morning of the scheduled work, Mr. Daniels took my call (on the first attempt!) and explained to me that he could not work that day because the sod did not ship into Jacksonville because the previous day (a Monday) was a holiday; he also said he could not do the work that day due to the rain we had that morning.  Mr. Daniels assured me that he would arrive the next day by 9 AM.  The next day he did not arrive on time, as promised; at 10:30 AM I called him and he explained that his normal sod distributor did not have acceptable sod, and that he had to locate good sod from an alternate source.  He said he found good sod, and that he would proceed to purchase the parts necessary for the sprinkler system repair, and would be there soon.  Mr. Daniels and crew arrived at approx 12:15 PM.  From that point on, the quality of the work was excellent, and the sod looks great.  However, had I not been home to "oversee" and QA the work being performed, I am not certain that they would have done the job to my satisfaction.  I ensured that the sprinkler system changes were good enough to provide the adequate watering coverage of my new sod.  Additionally, the leftover "remnants" of sod (the smaller pieces that were cut away from the larger pieces in order to fit the lawn areas) were going to be discarded; these remnants added up to a substantial area, and I convinced Mr. Daniels to use them in another area of my lawn that needed it.  After all the stress of getting this done, I am very satisfied with the quality of the work performed (being present had it's desired effect), and especially with the quality of the sod.  My lawn now looks great and I'm certain that my sprinkler coverage is adequate.  If you use this company, you need to be patient with Mr. Daniels' responsiveness in taking/returning phone calls.
