Dan's Van Lines

Used Dan's Van Lines to unload a Pod of household goods and move boxes and items into the house. Initial contact and scheduling was very easy with exchange of information to confirm the type of service needed to match my need. Scheduling and notifications through arrival were well done. Crew, truck, and support equipment such as protective floor runners and wheeled dollies arrived on time. Crew members, Pablo and Nelson, were very professional, courteous and efficient. Moved items into rooms as directed. Finished with a walk through to adjust placement of boxes and items as needed. Cleaned up. No glitches. A great team! I found Dan's Vans through a referral by a friend. Price is very competitive. My online/social recommendations are few, but I give this strong recommendation of Dan's Vans. Contact them. I will use them again.

Great experience! They were knowledgeable and courteous and clearly had a lot of experience, especially with antiques. They were expeditious yet careful. The fee even came in under their estimate!

Great. The team was very responsive, clear on what services they could provide and the rate was very reasonable. All members of the team were very professional and went about their work quickly and left the units clear of any packing materials. Very pleased with their services.

The crew was punctual, friendly, and competent. They first picked up the rugs and microwave from Home Depot, then collected everything from our apartment. They would need to unroll the rugs in the new apartment first, then bring in the furniture and everything else. We were taking a train from Virginia to Pennsylvania, and we scheduled our departure for late afternoon so we would be in Virginia as long as we might be needed. it turned out that the moving crew had everything loaded into their truck by 11 am. We gave a key to the new apartment to the moving crew and, as expected, we arrived in our new home hours after the Dan's Vans crew was finished. Everything was in good shape and where it belonged. We weren't in Pennsylvania in time to give a tip to the crew, so we mailed a tip, as we said we would, the next day.

Wow! Dan’s Van Lines was amazing. First of all, they did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. Dan proved himself and his team to be extremely trustworthy. We were facing a very challenging move with a short notice. Dan was very responsive and found a way to make our move happen. They were affordable and fit into the budget we had allocated for the move. In addition, the quality and customer service focus of their entire team was also very impressive. We interacted with 7 of their movers who were professional, positive and accommodating to meet our moving needs. I have moved 20 times during my lifetime. And I can sincerely say this is the best moving team I have ever used. I know hiring a mover can be intimidating because there are some with questionable ethics and poor practices. Our team of movers from Dan's Van Lines was nothing less than top notch, punctual, professional, courteous, communicative, careful, and fast... AGAIN! Lunch being the only exception, we never saw these gentlemen stop working. They were a great team -- working very well together with each other and coordinating every step with us -- and they took any and all worry entirely out of the day. These aren't day laborers or quick-hires, as with some moving companies. These wonderful people work for Dan, and some have for years! A couple of them worked our last move, which took place six years ago! Yep! This is our second move with Dan's, and we couldn't be more thrilled to be repeat customers! Dan, himself, called back after we requested an estimate. He was exceedingly pleasant, had all our paperwork from the last move in-hand when he called, and he was able to tell us the estimated cost for this move from that. (Spoiler alert! The cost hadn't changed much in six years. That's something!) Dan mentioned that he certainly would come out to do an in-person estimate if we thought it was warranted, but we were comfortable going with an over-the-phone estimate as not a whole lot about our household goods had changed. Dan also told us exactly what the hourly rate was for the team, who the team would consist of, what additional supplies would cost if needed, etc.. The quote was obviously not "dead on" because "estimate," but there were zero hidden charges, no bait & switch, and the math checked out perfectly in the end. Having such care built in to the moving process, from start to finish, alleviated a great deal of the associated stress. It's helpful to know every one of Dan's movers is licensed and insured... not something you'll find everywhere, but it's something you definitely want when contracting anyone to do work in your home. You may find someone who'll execute your move for less, but not by much. Trust is highly important when your worldly belongings are involved, and I firmly believe peace-of-mind it worth every dime you pay for it. Dan's Van Lines provides exactly that. Thanks, Dan & crew!

From first contact, Dan's Vans Moving did a great job! I was in contact with the owner immediately who listened to what I wanted moved and where. He got me scheduled on the day I requested (about a week out) and sent an electronic reminder of the appointment the day before. The truck and two guys showed up as scheduled, walked through to see what needed to be moved (I was taking things to 2 locations), loaded the truck so that the last location stuff went in first. They wrapped everything well to protect it and were careful not to damage the houses where the furniture was being delivered or removed. Very nice guys. I would definitely use this moving company again!

It was great. They were quick, efficient, they were all very nice guy, worked very hard, and they pack and move things beautifully. No issue at all.

The movers showed up on time and worked tirelessly from 8 am to 10:30 pm. They took a lunch break for maybe 30 minutes. Everything arrived as it should, with nothing missing or broken. They put things just where we asked them to be put. They were responsive and cheerful the entire time. They really worked hard to make sure our move went off without a hitch.

Dan sent us a estimate that was slightly over what was actually charged so we ended up under budget. He was willing to bill separate all three parts of the move. His packing and moving teams were incredibly efficient and were all on time. But best of all was the team of un-packers. They showed up upon request and unpacked most of the boxes and placed items on the shelves and in the closets as needed within a few hours. AND they removed the empty boxes and packing materials. They upgraded our rating of the move from a "A" to an "A+". Highly Recommend!

The process to hire was smooth. The movers were on time and completed the job on time. The team was efficient and did not break any of the items. They also brought furniture from one of the locations back to the local destination the following day. They coordinated the long distance location arrival - they were not totally clear on when they were going to arrive. The initial agreement was to travel to the second location the same day as pick up. They ended up driving and delivering to the second location the next day. This was slightly less convenient but worked out. <br />

This is the second time in less than 1 year we've used Dan's Van Lines. The first time was in June 2012 when we made a 15 mile move. At that time, the movers worked tirelessly on a 100 degree June day. This move was in damp and overcast conditions, but the movers again, worked tirelessly. They wrap furniture with the absolute greatest of care. Not one single item was scratched or damaged. There was also no damage to any of the houses involved. We don't plan to move again until we are old and gray, but I will continue to recommend Dan's to everyone I know who needs a mover. <br />

Was referred to Dan by my mover. He knew exactly the size truck to complete the move and as stressful as a move can be, having the movers complete the move without damage and in a timely manner was very helpful.

They were fantastic. We did not know when our pods would arive so they agreed to come after there last job and call ahead. Because we were only doing 1/2 a move they waved the 3hr minimum. Other companies wanted to charge that plus a van fee (even though pods were already in front of the house). Gus and his helper were very friendly and proffesional and moved very fast (esp since it was their 3rd move of the day). All of my antiques were handled with care. I have never had such a smooth and easy move and I have moved several times in this area with other companies. These guys are great!!

They did a great job the first time. They aren't local but they came in with a very competitive price compared to everyone locally. They handled my things with great care.
