Terrible. 8:30Am Bob was due to arrive for the job, he called saying he would be a few minutes late. 9:50AM Bob arrived with a second guy and said they would both paint for 4 hours each, I said "works for me" 10AM the job started, I left them to it 1:30PM I returned and Bob wasn't there, his helper was and had painted 3.5 of 5 windows (seemed not much for 3.5 hours), I asked the helper where Bob was and he said Bob had left when I did. 1:50PM Bob returned and I said " so you guys still have another 4 hours of painting to go". It became clear Bob hadn't expected me to be back before him, he was planning on telling me they had both been painting for 4 hours. Once it was obvious that Bob had planned on being deceitful, Bob proceeded to tell me that they were only doing 4 hours and that all the money I had paid was worth, he said he was getting ripped off by Angie's list and wouldn't be doing this deal anymore, he then admitted that he was running another job somewhere else at the same time. I said that the deal we/ Angie's had was for 8 hours of painting and that was what i wanted, i was very reasonable with Bob, I didn't even get into the fact that 3.5 window frames done badly in 4 hours was very slow. He said that's all his guy was doing. So I said: " how about you finish the 5 frames and call it a half day (4 hours), I wont give you a bad review and I will request a 50% refund back from Angie's list ?" . Bob agreed to this and went and Told his guy to finish the 5 windows. 2:05 PM Bob left 2:10 PM I left Bobs helper to finish up 2:30PM Bob texted me and said he had changed his mind his guy would do the full 8 hours of painting until 6 PM, Said Ok Thanks! 3:35 PM I retuned to the job and found the helper sitting around eating a sandwich and not painting. He said he had done 4 window frames and hadn't been told to do anything else ( I am pretty sure Bob told him to do the 5 window frames at least). I told him to get back to work and finish the 5th frame, while he started I looked over his work on the 4 frames. They were not complete, So i began to paint the large missed sections, whole trims were completely missed on the first 4 frames. The helper finished the 5th frame in 40 minutes while i supervised him painting very slowly. He was not a painter, I wondered if he had even done painting before. 4:30PM I told Bobs helper to move to the hallway (external from apartment) and paint all he could in the last 1.5hours remaining, I knew he probably wouldn't do anything unsupervised. 5:50PM I called Bob and told him the work done was average and I had left the helper with 1.5 hours to go in the hall and to take a look at what had been completed and call me back and go over if he thought the work done was acceptable. No call back from BOB still 5 days later. Next day: I returned to the apartment and looked at the first 4 window frames once they were dry in day light, they were even worse than i had originally thought, I spent 1 hour fixing up the missed painting. I then inspected what the helper had done in the hallway in the last 1.5 hours of the day. He had badly painted 6 feet of 3inch wide door trim, I see why Bob didn't call me back to discuss, what a joke 5 minutes of work. In summary: I paid for this help to save me time, It wasted 8 hours of my time and wasn't even completed. Bob tried to lie to me and was caught out, I had to fix the terrible uncompleted job. I could of painted 5 window frames in 3 hours as a rookie painter and saved my self time, annoyance and money. DON'T BUY THIS DEAL!!!!! YOU WILL LOSE MONEY , TIME AND SANITY!

"Our reviews reflect the satisfaction we take in work well done. We pride ourselves in our business and unfortunately this customer either did not understand Painter-for-a-day or understood it all too well. We have never had a blemish on our record in over 28 years. The statements from this customer are misleading, at best. We do regret this post, but if you any meet one of our hundreds of customers, you will find our reputation above reproach, honest and high end work every day. We believe this was a Painter-for-a-day deal being abused. We did exactly what was specified in the scope of work. We were on time, did 8 hours of work, and honored our word. We provide references upon request and you will find our company is not what is portrayed by this customer. According to this customer, he had violated Angie's List policies for his benefit. We were unaware of his practice at the time."

Bob said it would take 4 days, but he finished the job in 3. He arrived each day right on time. The painting was exceptional and the faux finish turned out beautiful. He cleaned up everything before he left each day, and there wasn't a drop of paint when he was finished. He was a pleasure to have in our home, and we would definitely hire him again!

Excellent work. Tony was here for 2 days. Very accommodating even when we slightly changed the scope. The finish was great. He went the extra mile to show how different he was, spending considerable time around switches and even on the vents. The price was very reasonable for the high end work he has done. I would gladly hire them again.

Bob did an excellent job.  He cut the trim lines very straight.  He made small repairs in wall (such as caulking nail holes).  He was very helpful with making decisions on choice of color tones and paint quality.  He was very pleasant to work with and his paint job has held up for a long time.

Bob and a helper painted these rooms and did a wonderful job in a short amount of time.  They were very careful to keep the areas clean with heavy painters drop cloths and cleaned up after the job was finished. We chose the paint based on Bob's years of experience and awesome reputation. I have seen his work in the past as I have recommended him to some of my clients over the years but this is the 1st opportunity that I have had to utilize his service personally. The flat finish looks great on our ceilings and really brightened up the rooms, especially after not having them painted for a number of years and the dinginess that having a fireplace entails.  I would recommend calling Bob and I'm certain that I will call him again.
