I mean his slogan says it all! DON'T HIRE THE SALESMAN!!! DON'T DO IT PEOPLE!!!! Unless you want a world filled with constant excuses, a poorly constructed building, WAY less money in your bank account and in our case, a nice shiny lien on your property because he didn't use the money you gave him to pay the subcontractors. I'm telling you, don't do it. He's very convincing, he'll have all the answers, he'll tell you about ALL these projects he's worked on and how everyone love him....It's all a sham. Here's how it will go, 1. Meet with Dave, think wow, he's a knowledgeable guy who gets things done. 2. He'll be super prompt on getting an estimate to you. An estimate that seems reasonable. 3. You will give him a large chunk of money "for supplies". 4. Construction WILL kick off and seem to be going well. 5. THIS IS WHERE HE GETS YOU---A few weeks in, you'll notice some issues, (in our case they started small, and then escalated to exterior walls that move and sway in the wind. Interior walls not attached to anything,) He'll address them at first, but slowly he will either straight lie to your face or just completely dodge your calls, email, and texts. 6. Next thing you know, no one is showing up at your job site anymore. 7. And finally you learn that he hasn't paid for thousands of dollars of labor and materials that you've already given him money for. It's the same story with everyone. He advertises heavily on Facebook, but anytime he gets a bad, AKA truthful, review, he's able to delete it and is left with only positive reviews left by his friends and family. Don't believe me, go look. The first two (if you sort by most recent) are by his daughter, Miranda who works for him and his wife Amanda. I mean if you're an honest builder, doing good honest work, you don't have to hide reviews and create fake ones. Completely misleading business practices in my opinion. We were told by Dave when we started this project we would be moving into our house the third week of September. The pictures are what our house looks like today, October 5th. With the amount of repairs needed to fix all of mistakes of Daughenbaugh Construction, coupled with the amount of work that still needs to be performed, it will be months before we are in our house.

Dave is a salesman and nothing else. He overpromises and under-delivers. Blew past the 4-week timeline for our project we discussed (we're on 9 weeks and counting), and violated the terms of our signed contract without so much as an apology, much less the refund we are owed for materials that he has not purchased. He was supposed to order materials for our project first week in August, and as of the last week in September, the materials hadn't been ordered (and they take 4 weeks to arrive), so we have decided to part ways and end this long and frustrating saga. Except we are still owed a refund for the materials he has not purchased. Communication is abhorrent. We've called, emailed, text Dave literally dozens of times throughout this project, and we get a response one out of every 10 attempts to contact him at best. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES AND NO INTEGRITY WHATSOEVER.

From the first phone call to David(Daughenbaugh Restoration owner) to the closing of our project we are so pleased with his services and his whole team. David was always there to answer questions promptly. His team was very professional and very skilled tradesman! Which now days you really have to worry about that. We would hire Daughenbaugh Restoration again without a hesitation. We are actually talking about adding a addition already and David will be doing that project for us as well!

Dave came right away and worked on getting an estimate for us. Unfortunately our insurance company fought us at every turn but Dave didnt give up he went to bat for our family to get what repairs approved that he felt needed done and what was best for our family. When they finally agreed his team went right to work. He has always been available when I had questions and has went above and beyond on numerous things in regards to repairs to our house no matter the extra costs. This company is here to make sure you the customer is happy at all costs.

Progress started out slow, but it was understandable because he was busy. We were content as progress is progress. I was confident in the beginning that we had picked the right contractor as his BBB rating and reviews on here were great. We were promised that it would be him on the job until completion, but after the main structure framing concluded, he stopped having a daily presence on the jobsite. He had a few employees working for him, which seemed to be working very few hours and things were slowing down even more. The construction wasn't bad, but the detail stuff was horrible and the jobsite was a huge mess. I tried to give Dave a heads up that his guys might be taking advantage of him as, even on days I took off work to be there, they showed up around 9:30am and left around 2:30pm. At the time he was irritated with me and suggested that I tell them. My response of course was that they are not my employees, but his, and I hired him to do the job. Dave had a drinking problem and was in denial about a lot of things going on in his world. He went missing for about six weeks and got some help (which I was happy to hear). The only frustrating part is that we were left with no updates on what was going on and no heads up that it was going to happen. Upon his return, he apologized and verbally owned his wrongdoings. We happy with the idea of getting our project back on track and forgave him for the disappearing act. Things began to get back on track, but after a few weeks it returned to deadlines being missed and lack of communication. My house is still sitting unfinished and he recently quit responding to my messages. The drywall team doing some finishing details has tracked drywall mud all over our new floor and leaves a disaster every day for me to clean up so it will be safe for my two year old son to be in our house. The situation has deteriorated drastically as it has become constant excuses and no progress or action on the things he has said he will do. He took the last draw needed to get our project to 100% in late January and recently contacted me to tell me he was out of money for our project. Now, I know that these things are an emotional roller coaster for people and it is easy to get caught up in the moment. But, I’ve remained supportive and understanding during this project and tried my best to help keep the project moving forward. I ended up filing complaint with the BBB and the attorney general because I didn’t want to go straight to legal action. I would really just like my house finished. I’ve read all the reviews on Angie’s list and found his A+ rating with the BBB which is what makes it so hard to understand why our experience was so far off. I even read the review posted about the deck he recently completed and was amazed because he got mad at me, when I confronted him, for assuming that he was working on other projects while mine sat. He is not being honest about his business dealings at this point. Some of the situations I've dealt with: -Septic line installed uphill (flowing back to house) -Boom truck crashed into front of house knocking out power and breaking window -Ruts in landscaped walkway covered with sheets of plywood and left (Since February) -Use and abuse of my personal tools -Theft of beer from my refrigerator -Brand new windows leaking after siding was installed (new construction) -Drywall all over new front door -Cigarette butts, trash (non-construction), and nails/screws scattered all over the entire project -Food spilled and left on the floor in the addition -Addition was built 1.5 inches off and the existing house subfloor had to be torn up and rebuilt to match. I now have a weird step into the other rooms of my old house -Roof leaks in my existing home -Lots of water in the basement of both the new and old house as a result of the poor septic line installation. It couldn’t be backfilled until corrected and the house did not have gutters so the rain collected next to the foundation and leaked in. -Toilets installed in the wrong location -Piles and piles of stress not knowing what would happen or not happen next. It has put way too much burden on my family. This may read like I’m trying to torch the guy after reading all the positive reviews. I’m just being honest about my experience, as I’ve already stated, it doesn’t make sense why mine ended up this way. I think Dave has the ability to do some good stuff, but he may have tried to get too many irons in the fire with my project or it was too big for him to manage. None the less, it was a major disappointment and ruined something that is supposed to be fun and exciting for my family. My home life has suffered and my performance at work as well (I’ve spent lots of time running home or being off work to try to make things right). Our project kicked off in November of 2016 and currently sits unfinished. It is close, but we are still a long way from being able to close our loan. I am getting e-mails and letter from people he has not paid and I am tasked with trying to figure out what to do next. I have photographic evidence of all of the things listed in this review.

Simply put, the entire project was flawless. As a busy professional it was very nice to sit back and not have to become involved in the project. The owner, Dave, was very courteous and always touched base with me to let me know how things were progressing. The cost for the remodeling work to my garage was very fair. Anyone looking for remodeling work to their home should strongly consider this business.

Excellent. Materials and crew showed up in a timely manner, the crew was very polite and friendly, and they worked hard! Excellent workmanship, all the framing was done professionally, and it passed the city building inspector on the first visit. This was a big job, they had large equipment to lift and set the trusses. They installed windows and doors, everything is level and plumb. I'm thrilled with how smoothly this job went.

The first day of the job we were very surprised to see the owner David walk through the door ready to work. This to us was very impressive since you usually don't see this. It was neat to watch the progress David and his crew did daily. We went from bare concrete walls to a big beautiful living room, bedroom with a closet and full bathroom. My favorite part was the canister lighting and the speakers throught the living room.Daughenbaugh construction did an amazing job and we would recommend them for any job!

First let me start with they called me back same day as I left a message. Showed up when they said and also helped with blueprint additions that I would never of thought of. They were professional polite and most of all on budget beginning to end. Now my son has a space all his own thanks to daughenbaugh restoration .
