Project took only a small bit longer than projected but much of that was due to slow delivery of certain supplies due to the pandemic. We were very pleased with the timing. I do encourage all project managers to over-communicate with the home-owners. Our only frustration was not being fully included in daily schedules. We would definitely hire Dave Johnson Building/Remodeling again.

Dave and his team did a great job finishing our basement and got the job done quickly. Dave had a lot of good ideas.

Dave and his team are top notch. Dave listens to your ideas and offers some wonderful ideas of his own. He started the 6 week job on time and finished on time. His team were professional, courteous and, most of all, very tidy. They cleaned up the mess everyday. Dave was recommended to me by a neighbor that renovated their home. In fact he is here again right now building a mantle for my center fireplace. I will also hire him to install a tile back splash over my stove. His prices are very reasonable and competitive with other contractors out there. I am now living full time in a home that previously I lived in April through October. It has been warm and cozy all winter long. I love my year round home! I highly recommend Dave and his team for any or your building or renovation needs, be it large or small.

Ahead of schedule!

Working with Dave and his crew was a dream. He quickly understood our vision and made it a reality. Finished on time and on budget. Had great suggestions and showed a lot of patience. We will use him for all our work and have already recommended him to a neighbor!

Very well. Dave participated and was very helpful with his suggestions as we determined the scope of the work and what could be done with the space. Once the project started, there was no break in the work. Something was being done everyday. Either Dave and his crew, the plumber, or the electrician. We worked closely w/ dave and minimized the down time of this very central room in our home. A kitchen and bath project can be the hardest but Dave and his team kept it going and we were able to complete in the time we estimated it would take. This was in the winter and included a door and window. Dave relied on his experience on other projects and had some good ideas as the project developed and we made a few running changes.

It went very well. Dave participated early on in the process by offering advice and assuring that what we were planning would work within the structure of our home. Once the project started, Dave and his carpenter crew were on the job daily unless the plumber and electrician needed the space to do their work. There wasn't a day during the project that something wasn't being done to move the remodel along. I would compliment Dave on his attn to detail and the finishe carpentry is outstanding

Dave Johnson met and exceeded all of our needs and expectations. He was responsive, punctual, and offered helpful advice throughout the process. Dave was exceptional. He made some very thoughtful suggestions and once the work was completed, I was very pleased with the quality and effort he and his team put into the project. I was also pleased that after the project was completed, they cleaned up the work site. No nails, sawdust, or other construction debris were left behind. Dave knew I was having the house painted and he was helpful in recommending a contractor for that part of the project. In addition he left some staging in place, knowing it would make it easier and safer for the painter to paint the the dormers. Dave and his team were excellent. i would hire them again without any reservations.

Working with Dave was fantastic. One of the best builders I've ever worked with. Punctual, he and his team showed up when he said they would. Quality of the work is excellent. Pricing was very fair and final invoice was on target. Pleasant and easy-going, when we decided to make changes in the middle of the project, he quickly estimated the cost and communicated clearly, allowing us to make subsequent adjustments. I live in New Hampshire and my sisters live in California and we all work full-time, so it was difficult to be on-site during the project. While I was there intermittently, we communicated mostly by email and text, including photos, as the project progressed. This was incredibly helpful and permitted real-time input when the inevitable questions arose. His willingness to work with us in this way made the entire process so easy. We plan to hire Dave and his crew again in the future without hesitation. I highly recommend them.

He does quality work with value and uncompromising ethics. My wife and I both work and he has performed most of our jobs with no one home. We have never had cause for concern or any issues with his crew in our house. They clean up at the end of each work day. If you want quality, value and a hassle free experience, go to Dave Johnson. We hired Dave and his crew to do a rather extensive remodel at our home.  From the start, we found Dave to be very responsive: emails and calls were returned promptly, and all questions were answered.  We found his work to be of extremely high quality: he has high standards, and this was his first and foremost concern with the full project.  Projects of this size can have variables that change throughout the timeline, and he was always honest and balanced with his opinions: he let us know where we could realize cost savings without compromising the integrity of the work.  He also had suggestions for both our sunroom and our kitchen that we feel made the end results far better than what we could have predicted... for example, he was able to offer suggestions about our kitchen window, lighting, and entryway that we would not have thought of-- and we love all of these changes.  There were several times throughout the project when we realized that a change was needed (for example- once the deck was built, we thought it should be larger), and he was able to quickly adjust.  Our full project took about 2 1/2 months.  Dave and his crew are all hard workers- they were there just about every day, and were constantly busy.  We have young children and had to live in our home during this remodel, and the workers were all respectful of that, making sure that our living spaces were blocked off with plastic to minimize dust, etc.   The end result of our project is superb- we love our new kitchen, sunroom and entryway.  As with any kitchen remodel, there were some inconveniences along the way, but working with Dave was an excellent experience, and we would certainly recommend him to anyone.  We feel that his work added value to our home, and absolutely increased our quality of living.

Dave Johnson was responsive, on time and great to work with.  He is the best contractor, including house builders, I have ever worked with.  He came when he said he would and did what he said. He helped me make choices for the room and responded (and completed) several special requests.  He took care of some add-ons easily and accurately.  I would be more than happy to hire him for another project (sorry, none in the works Dave).  His crew was professional. We communicated freely by e-mail , text, and phone. This was an outstanding experience. <br />

Dave Johnson builders provided everything from start to finish of our 14 x 20 ft. extension that included a brick chimney and stone fireplace. They handled the blue prints and the permits, managed the sub contractors to include excavation, electrical site work, foundation etc. His crew was awesome, very professional, trustworthy,  and friendly. They kept the worksite clean. They did a great job and we are very pleased.

<p>Very nice job, great guy to work with.  Detached garage conversion into a house for family.   There were no professional plans for this 1000sq ft space, just a sketch and conversations.   Dave did a great job pulling the whole thing together.   I would highly recommend him to anyone and will definitely use him again for other jobs.</p> <br />

Not being native Mainers, new to the area and not knowing any contractors or tradespeople in the area,  we had several unfortunate experiences in our initial attempts to identify a reliable contractor.  As our time spent at the camp was often short and/or sporadic,  we needed someone who would show up on schedule (while we were visiting the camp) and get the repairs done on time.  Dave did that. As we became more familiar with the quality of the work that Dave and his crew did, we felt secure in knowing that even if we weren't present, the work would still get done correctly.  This was a great relief to us. I don't recall Dave ever being late to the site, or the work taking longer or costing more than was originally agreed upon.  We found his prices to be extremely reasonable and the quality of the work to be very good. In honesty, I can't find any fault with the services he provided, and we would certainly use his services again (exclusively).

In all instances, Dave Johnson Builders have provided timely, professional repairs. <br /> His work is consistently code compliant and documentation complete. <br /> He listens to the client and honors the extent to which any work is authorized by proper authority. <br /> His crew can accomplish virtually all construction from rough to finish work.  <br /> The condominium association has used his company on several occasions and is currently entertaining <br /> his bid, amongst others,  for major unit repairs. He was requested to bid the job.

We had a bad experience, so we asked a local designer for a top quality builder/re-modeler and he said Dave was an "A". He is.
