I do NOT recommend using Dave n Drews Home Repair services. While they were very responsive and quick to agree to the job, they were extremely unprofessional and did not complete the job they initially agreed upon. I contacted them through Yelp to complete the installation of a door onto my loft since it was not completed by another contractor (which I also got from Yelp). They were able to come by my house the next day and review the job. I should've known there would be an issue when the estimate they provided was not the final amount they charged me. During the walkthrough, they (verbally) agreed to charge one price, and then once they arrived to do the job, the price (written on the contract ) was higher by about 75 bucks. I asked for clarification on the difference and Drew told me Dave gave me the wrong price....and I quote: "Dave is just a worker and doesn't handle finances...he just says whatever". While I understand everyone plays a different role in businesses, they need to figure them out privately and ensure they are on the same page when it comes to working with customers. I agreed to move forward with the amount because I needed the job completed as soon as possible. Once they showed up, they were timely but did not have all the materials to complete the job so they had to schedule another date and time to return. We agreed upon a date and I took off work but they never showed up. When I called Dave, he said apologized and claim his coworker was sick and he was working another job and couldn't make the appointment. I had to go out of town for work the next day so my roommate had to schedule the next appointment. She did and they showed up and completed the job. I asked how it went and her feedback was the following: 1. They were on time and finished installing the door but did NOT finish painting the wall because the color for the wall did not match. So, they had to match it again and come back in a few days. 2. One of the workers had a very strong odor and left a stench behind in the home. They never provided her a return date so she followed up a few days later and they were extremely RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. This is what Dave said (see screenshots for proof): "Ok so this is Dave listen we gave you that painting of the wall for free so we do not OU to finish that we did the door we did the door jam we did everything that we could but we are not going back four times we are not I mean now if we were paid for that part of the job we would've we gave you a very very good deal $200 that is a very good deal to hand a door with the frame install to paint I mean that's how much do you want for 20 bucks I'm sorry we finished with the job you guys we left the paint you guys can paint" There are a few key takeaways from his response: 1) My roommate was very professional and did not deserve that response. 2) He (Dave) seemed to be upset because they would have to come back a 4th time to complete a job they said would only take a few hours. This is solely their fault - they did not have all the materials the first time and matched the wrong color for the wall. 3) We were told painting was included so his statement about this was a free service was shocking. I've attached a screenshot that shows they agreed to come back and paint as part of the job. 4) They did not leave paint at my home for us to complete the job ourselves. That statement is completely false. Again, I DO NOT recommend working with or contracting Dave and Drews to complete any handyman work for you! As you can tell by my experience, they are extremely unprofessional and did not complete the job they were agreed upon.
