Concrete Foundation Raise
I am deeply disappointed in our experience with Davenport. After we noticed a growing crack in our brick, we researched which company to trust with our house, and were excited by all the 5 star reviews. Our initial consultation was lovely, with the rep being informative, kind, and not pushy at all. We chose to go through with his recommendations with an estimate of $22,000. It was a big chunk of money but we trusted that it would secure our house and be needed. While we were told that there could be increased cost based on the depth they had to go, we were not even close to expecting an increase of $14,000, which we were only told AFTER they had begun the process and we were not able to say no or decide on another option. This discrepancy between what was quoted us and what we were then told feels careless at best and dishonest at worst. With such a variable amount, it feels unprofessional to give such a low estimate and then expect us to come up with such a increase.

Hired Davenport to extend the landscape drain bypass they put in ten years ago that was backing up further downstream during heavy storms. After the storm today no backup at all. Their meticulous work exceeded expectations, ensuring proper sloping with smooth drain pipe less likely to clog. They even avoided three sprinkler lines in the way, hauled away the excess dirt, and didn’t even get dirt on the lawn. I can barely see where the work was done.

Initial quote was $400. Total came out to almost $4000! However, the company worked with me and got the price down significantly. However, the should do a better job with their estimates. The 2 men that did the work were excellent and also agreed that the estimator should have provided better numbers. We ended up adding another section to be done because we were happy with the service despite the price.

I restored a house built in the late 1800's. The house had a dozen different companies working on the house from the ground up. Davenport was the best company I had the pleasure of working with. From price, speed, to quality of their craft I was so impressed!! Not only that they were fun to work with. I felt like I was a friend and not just another client. Davenport was the cheapest by several hundred dollars among the 3 estimates I got, and also promised to do the most extensive amount of work, as well as providing a 7 year guarantee. They were punctual and friendly, and the finished work appears to be very professional. <br />

Initial specialist who inspected the wall was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Did a thorough inspection and provided advice to repair our specific problem with this carbon strapping and epoxy system. I also called in a second company for an inspection and they ultimately gave the same advice. Went with Davenport because the price was less than half of the other, and came with a warranty. We finally called in a structural engineer, just to confirm this was the best repair option and there were no other issues involved. <br /> <br />The install team arrived right on time this morning. They were quick and the job appears to be done well. Hope this will be the end of our foundation issues. <br />

Davenport was professional and efficient from start to finish. They responded quicker than their competitors to our bid request. Our home was a somewhat complicated case to because the cracks in the walls and sticky doors were in the front half of the house even though it was the back half that was sinking. Nevertheless, the Davenport representative quickly diagnosed the problem and provided a detailed bid in two days. <br /> The initial Davenport bid was higher than a second bid we received from a competitor, but Davenport was willing to match this second bid. We ultimately received a bid from a third company that was even lower, but we went with Davenport because of the level of quality we perceived they could provide and the fact that it is a longstanding business that is likely to continue (meaning the 25-year warranty would mean something). <br /> The job took 4 days to complete and was done on time. The crew was professional and did their best to protect our lawn and sprinklers while digging around the foundation. When I called their office with a question, they contacted the job foreman and he called me back immediately. Ron Davenport, the company owner, showed up during the critical lifting process, double-checked the measurements, and also did some of the manual labor, so that gives me confidence that he is focused on getting things right and hasn't strayed from the company's roots. Once the equipment was in place, the lifting process itself only took a few minutes. It was like a miracle watching all the cracks in the walls close. Even though it was an expensive repair, it is such a relief to have a stable foundation now after living with the problem for many years. <br /> <br />
