Dennis did a great job with the driveway. It took awhile to schedule the job due to the rainy summer and the fact that he was back to back with many jobs. He did always return my calls and kept me updated on when we could schedule. I would recommend Dennis and team and would use him again.

Dennis and his crew did an excellent job in terms of timing, service and the final delivery of beautiful results. They showed up when they said they would and cleaned up every last bit of debris. If we had another driveway, we'd hire them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended. I will upload a photo soon.

Excellent. Dennis always returned any call promptly, kept me informed about any schedule change due to weather and other factors, comes when he says he will, and the quality of work is excellent. I am very happy with my new driveway. Dennis came out and gave me an estimate . We picked a day to have the work done. We had to switch the day due to rain, but Dennis was able to do it a couple of days later. Dennis did a great job!

Dennis was great from the very start....he returned my initial phone call within an hour which was impressive. He advised when he could come out to quote the job and he arrived on time. I received a quote back within a day and the price was very fair and competitive. He wanted no money until the job was completed. We had a lot of bad weather in May and June and he was in constant communication with me about delays and the planned date for my job.....much appreciated! The job was done quickly and professionally and I am very happy with it. He also fixed a small problem in my neighbor's driveway with the extra asphalt he had left over....they later hired him to come back and seal their entire driveway. My next door neighbor loved the job and wanted to hire him as well.

Great. Dennis replied to my request for an estimate on the same day and stopped by to estimate the job on the next day. The job was completed exactly as described and even a day earlier than originally planned in order to beat the coming bad weather.

Dennis paved two driveways for me. The price was good, he did an excellent job, and he was flexible with my construction schedule. I would definitely use him again.

Excellent. Responded rapidly to my first phone call (unlike others that I contacted). Gave several options of what to do. Kept me informed by text msg as when they would come, Left a bit of debris, telling me he would return to pick it up later that day and he did.

Dennis was a pleasure to do business with. He returned my call within a couple of hours and came to do the estimate late evening shortly after our phone conversation. The price was very reasonable and the quality of the work is very high. His team is professional and friendly. We have a new driveway that looks awesome! He goes above and beyond expectations; he even patched a hole in our neighbor's driveway at no cost. He stands by his work and gives one year warranty. Highly recommend!!!

Dennis did an estimate shortly after being contacted and then arrived promptly and on time to do the job, which was done neatly and professionally.  The driveway looks terrific after the work was completed. <br />

I was concerned that the hole, which appeared to be about 12 inches deep, was a danger and possibly even a sink hole. Dennis came out within the hour of our phone conversation and he and his crew of two others did the work right away.  It was finished within four hours (including a break at lunchtime).  He told me that he can't always respond so quickly, but that he could work me into his schedule this time, because there was a pause for weather on a larger job.  He came and looked at the job first and assured me that he could fill the hole.  We agreed that he should cut away a larger section (about 4x4 feet) to be sure that there was not a larger drainage problem happening underground to cause such a deep hole so quickly.  He explained that if it was an underground drainage problem (like a broken pipe), he could recommend someone who could do the underground drainage work, something he does not do himself. <br /> He opened the hole by cutting through the existing driveway with a saw, then using a pick and sledge hammer. We could see that it was just that, a hole, possibly from an old in-ground garbage pail, and that all the areas around it were solid.  After excavating a couple of layers of old driveway/walkways he compacted what was there, installed crushed stone and compacted that, installed a leveling course of stone dust to fill in over the crushed stone and compacted that.   He next went to work on a trip hazard where the driveway had buckled, cutting with the saw a precise rectangle.  He then created a small asphalt berm against the house to help with water flow away from the house's foundation.  Next he went back to the original hole and top coated it with asphalt, then filled in the former trip hazard.  He then leveled the two patches very precisely with the original driveway and cleaned up everything. Throughout, Dennis and his crew were professional, polite, skilled, and efficient.   <br /> I highly recommend him and would use him myself again in a heartbeat. <br />

Dennis and team were fantastic, would highly recommend for asphault work. They not only excelled at doing the baseline job but went above and beyond with things like removing tree roots, setting the border (and ensuring was level/flat for a great finished look), setting the pitch so water drains away from the house, and accommodating other requests. Finished job looks great, only wish I had not waited so long to get around to having the work done! <br />

When they got there to do the initial job I asked if they could patch the pot holes in the private road they did at no extra cost.

The old driveway was one car wide and about 55' long. It was cracked, <br /> deep ruts held ice in the winter, and we only need one parking space on a <br /> daily basis. I wanted to reduce urban run-off and increase planting <br /> area on a small lot. Dennis was very responsive and creative, offering <br /> different methods for achieving my goals for a non-typical paving job. There was an existing border of standing patio blocks between the front garden and driveway, he straightened them when paving. The new asphalt tapers to a planting strip on the other side, where plants were virtually undamaged. I later purchased and installed concrete pavers on the parallel strips to the rear of the asphalt parking pad; extra cars drive and <br /> park on the pavers when we need the space. <br /> I am very satisfied with the timeliness, care, workmanship, and price of DC Paving's work. <br />

Dennis gave an estimate on Saturday, and was back out on Friday to do the job. They were very professional, and very clean (they had to cross the street remove each load of debris - they swept up after each load, keeping the sidewalk and street clean and neat). Not really much to tell, they did what they said with no problems. Would recommend to anyone - this is an excellent and honest contractor.

Dennis came out on a Sunday to give the estimate and it came in about 30% less than the previous estimate. I called him a few days later to ask him to go ahead with the work and he said he could be out 2 days later to start it. I was expecting a MUCH longer wait for the work so this pleased me. Indeed, Dennis and the crew came out on a Thursday afternoon to dig out the old driveway and was back again on Friday to put in the new one. He and his crew were very friendly and did great work. <br /> <br /> UPDATE:  5 Years have passed and there is sign of sinking and cracking.

Dennis was a little slow to return my initial call that I made to his work number. Once he called me back, he gave me his cell number and he was completely accessible after that. He came out to see my property at my convenience and put an estimate together on the spot. His estimate was literally 40% less than the guy who has the most reports on this site. I asked Dennis to confirm his method and it seemed apples-to-apples. He told me he could start the following Friday and the day he was supposed to start was raining. He pushed it to the following Monday and sure enough he showed up with his crew (himself, a helper and his 85 year old Dad who drives the roller) and they got the job done in a day. He didn't ask for payment until it was finished and I was satisfied. He was very careful about the height of the pavement around the edges so that my garage doors still opened and closed properly and my neighbor's fence was permanently asphalted to the ground! Overall, Dennis and DC Paving is a good solid local contractor with excellent prices.I would definitely recommend them to other people and I would use them again.

I called Dennis for an estimate and he came out to see and evaluate the job within 2 days. He provided a competitive estimate and explained what he was going to do and why he was going to do it. Two days later I let Dennis know that I wanted him to do the job. He was there the next morning with his equipment and crew and completed the job in 1 day. He and his crew were very professional with me and with my neighbors. This was a very positive experience overall.

Dennis from DC Paving was great. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. My neighbor and I both needed new driveways and we received a discount from Dennis for giving him both jobs. He both on the same day and came in with a good crew to knock over both jobs. The driveway looks great, and I would definitely recommend to anyone in the market for a new driveway.

Dennis came out and gave a free estimate, His price was very good so I hired him, asking for him to do it as soon as possible. He said it could be done by Thursday the next week. I agreed, but wanted to do it as soon as possible so that it would be drivable for a party we would be hosting at the end of the week. Dennis was able to rearrange his schedule so that it could be done Monday! Everything was very professional and quickly done.

Absolutely first-rate. Mr. Coburn (Dennis) was responsive and very easy to work with. The finished product looks great and will greatly improve a much-used path from our driveway to the street behind us. Another trades person, also highly rated by Angie's list, arrived as Dennis was finishing. As it happens Dennis had done work for him and his family and the second man gave Dennis a very strong recommendation. Highly recommended.

Overall, I was very happy with Dennis from DC paving. He called me back within a day and was out to give us an estimate, which was substantially less than some of the other estimates. The first day he tore up our old driveway, which was in very bad shape. He slightly widened the entrance to our driveway as well. He laid down a first coat that day. The following day it he finished the job with the top coat of asphalt. While tearing up the old driveway he had to remove a concrete curb, which he fixed the following day by pouring new concrete. The only hiccup in the entire job was the bobcat bumped the oil pipe that feeds the oil tank in our basement. Dennis was very upfront and assured us that he would cover the expense of the repair--which he did. Overall I am very happy with the job. I have a beautiful, smooth new driveway that drains away from the house.
