Dean's Service

They were prompt, polite, and knowledgeable.

This was a very good experience. My central air condenser stopped working and after doing some research I called Dean's Service. The two technicians were friendly and professional. They called to let me know they were on their way, listened carefully when I explained the what was happening and correctly identified the problem immediately after turning the system on (thankfully a small and easy fix). They explained everything they were doing, showed me the parts and, at my request, completed a full tune-up of the system. I highly recommend Dean's Service and will use them again.

I called Dean's Service to fix my heater. I had been stuck in a cold house with a severe (at the time undiagnosed) neurological problem that was getting worse because of being stuck in the cold house. They convinced me that the problem with my heater was a $600 fix. I paid $125 for the consultation. I spent another several weeks in a cold house while I struggled to make the money to pay for the fix. Then I called a different HVAC professional, who came over and fixed the problem in 20 minutes and asked only for $85. I tipped him well, because I was so ready for the fix to cost hundreds more. I left a bad review, and that was when the owners of Dean's Service began to harass me online, both publicly and privately. I expect them to begin harassing me again now that I've posted this review, and I will keep you all updated if they do. These are not people you want to trust with your heater, or even trust in your house. Avoid them at all costs.

The two technicians that came to my home to do the work were very courteous and professional. They explained to me exactly what needed to be done.

Both gentlemen were prompt and courteous; they fixed my electrical, gave me an updated thermostat and were out the door in about two hours.

Very prompt service from Dean. I called b/c one of my vents was totally clogged and asked if there was anyway a crew could come out the same day and he made it happen! They came within 30 mins, figured out where clogged vent was, ran their cleaning tools and I was back to normal. Very happy with their promptness and service.

They were able to squeeze me in to their busy schedule even during the hottest of days. The company truly puts the customer first and I would highly recommend Dean's Service to anyone looking for HVAC work.

Entire experience was great from beginning to end. The arrive on time gave me an estimate which was cheaper than all the other competitors and also did an amazing job putting in a high-efficiency furnace and AC in my home

Great! The technician assured me my system was in great condition. He checked the coolant, inspected all parts and gave suggestions of how to get the air to come out a little better through our old vents. He was honest, knowledgeable and polite. Very happy with their service.

It went well. On the expensive side, but would use Dean's again.

When I called Dean's, they said someone could come out, but probably not until 8 or 9 in the evening. Someone called at about 7:30 and said they could be there by about 8:30. I didn't catch the guy's name, but he showed up promptly at 8:30 in the evening on a Sunday. He figured out that the igniter wasn't working, and said that he'd order the part the next day. I'm very grateful that I was able to get service on a Sunday night, even though I ultimately ended up getting the furnace serviced by someone else who had easier access to the part that was needed.

I’ve purchased deals in the past and I understand the companies offer them to drum up new customers and hope you will spend more money with them on other services. Usually I do but not this time. I feel the service I purchased was a total waste of time and money. From the minute the technician walked in the door, they tried to sell me on other products and services, not once but over and over again. They made me feel that the service I purchased was a total waste unless I spend the additional money to get each vent thoroughly scrubbed at a cost of $35.00 per vent which was later reduced to $29.00 per vent. And when I still wouldn’t take the offer they them made a generous 3rd offer to get the service done today and postdate a check for next month. I have never felt so pressured by an Angies List provider and I would never purchase anything else from this company. I might have gotten a very good deal but I feel like I was scammed. The reps spent close to an hour in the house, were very polite and cleaned up after themselves but they left me with the feeling that everything they did was for show. Again this is just a feeling and this could be a great company. But they lost their only opportunity to earn my future business. The owner Dean called to apologize. He told me the employee involved was suspended. He offered to come back out and give me a free service in order to make sure I was satisfied. I thnked him for the call but refused the offer and told him I would add a comment.

OK. Came on time, did work.

The provider came in with his equipment and checked all the vents. Upon checking the vents he recommended that we get brushing on top off the cleaning that we purchased. Upon enquiry he told us that the deal we bought is for cleaning only and doesn't include brushing. The provider said that brushing would be offered at an additional charge of $35 per vent and is not part of the deal that we bought. When asked what is included in the deal, the provider reiterated that it is just vacuuming/cleaning of all vents and 1 dryer and return vent and does not include brushing. Upon bargaining he offered the service of cleaning and brushing for a total of $600 ($189+$411). After further bargaining he agreed to do vacuuming/cleaning and brushing for $500. I must say the provider was professional in performing the duties but we are very disappointed that the $350 worth of $189 deal we bought was just for cleaning/vacuuming which is false marketing. Upon inquiring with other providers online we learnt that air duct cleaning in general includes cleaning/brushing/sanitizing for $18 per vent. So I kindly request Angie's to look into the matter and not let customers fall for such false marketing. I'm not sure who to blame for this mishap. I feel neither the provider nor Angie's made it clear what services are being offered and additional services may be required.

Attached a vacuum to the air ducts as expected. Told me twice he was going to clean the vents. Spent a while trying to upsell me. Never cleaned the vents and when I said something about them he said oh no I am not going to scrub them. The vacuum did it. The same vacuum you spent 20 minutes telling me wasn't going to do a thorough job and I should pay an extra $35 per vent to have them cleaned better?

I was very satisfied. They were on time, friendly, explained what they did and made some recommendations.

James the technician and Hugo the other technician did an excellent job. They were good communicating their arrival, prompt and did an excellent job.
