Argued with me when I suggested he bring his own shop vac instead of using my personal vacuum for my the lint on the inside of my dryer. Went on about how he didn’t want stuff from a vacuum in his car and alluded to how my house/dryer was dirty. Despite him using my vacuum, Peter still left the area messy when he left. I would assume that part of his job would be to bring the necessary equipment including a shop vac. While Peter repaired the dryer, I was less than impressed with his unprofessional and rude tone.

Peter’s responsiveness was impressive. He called back less than two hours of my leaving a voice mail. He was very patient as I gathered the necessary model info and such. Peter visited the next day and completed the repair. That’s less than 24 hours! Now _that’s_ what I call service!

The service call was excellent, we were expecting to have to replace parts but the honesty of the technician saved us from sinking any money into the repairs. A good cleaning under and behind the fridge proved to be all it needed. We were very happy with the service.

Excellent. Someone from Decher’s called and was able to help me on the phone. I was not really having a problem. Just stupid customer. The gentleman was really nice. He didn’t want to charge me for a visit for a simple problem.

They did the repair in a timely manner, very quick. It was easy to contact and he came to my car to bring the machine into his place. It was done quickly and when it was done he brought it out to my car and explained the issues to me.

Dealing with Peter was easy and professional from start to finish. Called him, he asked me to do a quick test on my dryer, he diagnosed the issue, we scheduled an appointment for the next day, he showed up exactly on time with the part in hand and he made the repair. He also called me afterwards to follow up on the repair and provided some info on a part we had discussed. I plan to call Peter the next time I need a repair and would recommend him to friends and family.

After Mr. Decher left, I called the building manager and asked her if any other tenants in the building had a problem with gas delivery to their stoves. She told me there is a steady delivery of gas to the building. The building manager then asked me if she could have the building superintendent look at my stove. <br /> The superintendent came approximately 45 minutes later, and he was able to remove 3 screws from the gas burner on the top right side. He did not try to remove any other screws as it was too difficult. <br /> Then, the superintendent pulled the stove out from the back wall to look at the gas line. He then banged the top of the stove many times and determined that I do have a problem with the gas oxygenation under the metal top of the stove. All the blue flames became yellow after he banged the top of the stove. <br /> Unfortunately, I don't know if I can find a repairman to remove the screws from the top of the stove to look at the adjustment for oxygen underneath the top of the stove. There at a total of 12 screws and they may not come out. At $100.00 per service call, it may not be financially prudent to have it fixed if a stove for my apartment cost $500.00. <br /> When I mentioned to someone the next day that I had to pay $86.34 for a service call which consisted of a recommendation to purchase a new stove, I was told that they never would have paid that kind of a fee if a service was not performed. I think that the service fee should have been reduced if a service could not be performed. <br /> Now I will have to contact another repairman, and I have some more information now. At this point, I'm not sure if I should try to have the stove repaired or I should purchase a new store. I think it is better to try to get an appliance fixed before purchasing another one. <br />

"some things unfortunately are just not repairable Beyond My Control as for the the service call charge you have to remember it cost me an overhead just to be able to show up and I was the third repair person that you told me that you had talked to in regards to your repair I told you up front that I charged a service call of 79.95 plus tax for the initial visit at which time I could give you an estimate for the parts and labor after I assed the job if I could have fixed your stove and made money on the repair don't you think I would have done it I don't understand your need to write a complete dissertation on this issue if you were fair about this you would call in and have this review removed"

, My oven "died" . I checked Angie's list , chose Mr. Decher and set up an appointment. He called a day ahead to verify the time and let me know his schedule and how that could affect his time of arrival at my house. He gave me a two hour window and arrived promptly at the beginning of the time slot. He checked out the stove , replaced the defunct part , and answered my questions about maintaining the stove, in an efficient ,pleasant and professional way. I am very happy with his work. <br />

He diagnosed the problem accurately and confidently over the phone, after telling me what to check, ordered the part, and when it came in, came and put it in. The part took a long time to be available, and he was very diligent about checking in on his progress in pushing the warehouse to locate it and get it to him. I appreciated this, but also sometimes felt like I was getting a little too much of the play by play! But better that way than the opposite. <br />

Called on a Friday, and Peter was there that Monday morning. He new right away what was wrong; compressor burned out, and the fridge was still miraculously working off and on. He replaced the part, and even pried open the old one to show how gone it was; charred bits poured out onto my counter. I suppose that explains the funny electrical smell :-D. Anyway, it was a good experience. Peter is chatty and personable, professional, and full of great advice. Would recommend. <br />

My dryer wasn't heating, called him up and was able to schedule an appointment within the week. He arrived on time and the repair was repaired quickly. The cost was slightly more than I thought it would be but still way cheaper than a new dryer. Overall very pleased with the service. <br />

"Peter Decher here, my response to you is who here is the actual grumpy one? I spent over an hour working on a huge stackable washer dryer that took two of us to take apart. Your unit ended up completely disassembled. I cannot help the fact that your dryer needed a new motor. You did not even get a labor charge for all that work. As for timing, if you make a PM appointment, I cannot be exact as to what time I will arrive due to previous repairs during that day. And I am entitled to eat!"

We called Peter on a Saturday after we discovered our warm refrigerator/cold freezer late Friday night. He diagnosed the problem over the phone but suggested we could save a lot of money by defrosting the refrigerator ourselves to remove the ice that had built up. If he came, he would have to disassemble much of the refrigerator to defrost it with heat taking hours and costing us a lot. We appreciated his candor and sensitivity for our budget. He took our model number and confirmed there was a part (a "Jazz" computer board) and scheduled a Monday morning repair time. <br /> On Monday he came by right when he said he would and fixed our refrigerator for under the estimate he gave us over the phone. <br /> Some repair companies might have wanted the extra hours worth of pay for melting the ice but he was glad to help us lower the cost of the repair. <br /> Also, Peter is a nice guy to chat with and we learned a lot about which appliance brands were made well and which were not. <br /> We highly recommend him and will use him in the future for any appliance repair we might need. <br />
