Decker Construction

The person from Decker Construction was a really nice guy and very knowledgeable. He explains things to you. He cleans up well and he did a good job. I’m very pleased with his work. He does what he should to get it right. He wants to do it right the first time. He is a trustworthy person.

Electrical work was fine but the woodwork was bad. We asked for help with fixing trim around the oven and around some drawers. He over promised on how much help he could provide with fixing the oven trim, and one patch piece he provided was the wrong type of woof so the stain wouldn't match. The other cabinet trim had unfilled nail holes when he left. He came back and filled them but left the nail holes unstained. Two pieces of wood trim he added around drawers faded within 2 months. Nice enough father and son team, fine on the electrical, but I would not recommend them for any cabinetry work. <br />

It went very smoothly.  They arrived on time and got the job finished very quickly.

Scott Decker came out to replace some front porch decking which had deteriorated to the point the deck could not be used.  He came when promised and did a good job.  We also used him for some other repairs underneath our home and was satisfied with his work then as. well.  His pricing seems a bit high.  He is a licensed contractor who shows up when scheduled and performs his skill in a professional manner.

Mr. Decker was one of several contractors from whom I got estimates to work on a small 60-year-old house in need of a lot of TLC.  All the bids I received seemed very expensive to me, but his for labor only (I buy supplies) was reasonable capared to others I had received.  The reason I chose him was that he was the only contrator who spelled out clearly what he would do for the bid given, and when he would do it. <br /> <br /> When he was well into the work, it was discovered that gophers had piled dirt in the walls around the bathtub to a height of four feet and more.  That was not part of the plan.  It necessitated that part of an interior kitchen wall and the exterior bathroom wall be removed, the dirt cleaned out, some studs be replaced, and the walls be rebuilt.  That required stucco work on the outside.   All of this he did for what I considered a very reasonable additional fee that is Included in the total given above. <br />   <br /> Mr. Decker is a young man who works hard.  He is pleasant, skillful, and patient.  He got the job done. <br /> <br /> After seenig all the work that was actually done, the bid now seems more than reasonable and I am very happy with the results! I have an old house that looks new inside.  <br /> <br />

Had called others. Job either too small, no shows or exorbitant price. Could not get new refrigerator until cabinet was shortened. Determined to have clean tasting ice by Thanksgiving. Tried one more business. On Angie's but not references. I'm deteremined. Mr Decker honored an on time estimate appointment. Given an acceptable price. Scheduled me very quickly, showed up when scheduled. Worked until finished. Cleaned up. Absolutley perfect job. Cabinet and door shortened. Matched stains and even touched up some other worn wood trim in kitchen. Friendly, skilled. Best help I've had in ages.
