We needed carpet and hardwood installed in our newly purchased house. We were under a tight deadline to try and get the flooring installed before we moved all our furniture in. Tom was able to fit the install in under that deadline. We got two other quotes first, and he beat both pretty handily and we are very happy with the results. He came in home with some samples initially and we also met him at his warehouse to take a look at the whole stock before making a decision. The process from start to finish was great and I will certainly work with him again in the future if I need more flooring.

We had some minor flooding in our basement and needed to replace some of the carpet. I first received estimates from two nationwide carpet companies. After reading the good Angies List reviews, I decided to get a third quote from Dependable Carpet & Flooring. I spoke to Tom, the owner, who personally came out. Unlike the chain stores, Tom took time to review our needs and later emailed us a carefully designed, competitive quote without pressuring us. Showing a willingness to work with us, he gave us different options for replacing only the damaged carpeting or the whole basement. He beat the competitors' pricing, and even offered more choices in terms of carpet and padding. We decided to do the whole basement, and we're glad we did. The installers came out and did a great job, and were friendly to my kids while still working efficiently, getting the job done in one day. The new carpet looks and feels fantastic. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dependable Carpet & Flooring. We are so happy with the job that we will call them again if we save up enough to re-carpet our upstairs bedrooms.

The first problem was with the thresholds in the two entrances to the kitchen. Before installing, Tom assured us there wouldn't be a problem with the thresholds but there was. They finally glued them down and a less than a month later they popped up. There never was a resolution to this problem. Tom finally told us, "well it was impossible anyway!" The major problem now is the vinyl flooring is lifting up or bulging in the hallway. (See photos). On June 12, 2018, I called the company and talked to Tom's wife and explained the problem. I asked if Tom or an installer could come out and take a look at the floor. His wife said it's probably water damage or the subfloor. I explained there is no basement and the vinyl covering was laid on top of a very flat parquet floor and no chance of water leakage. Tom even assured us that, " this more expensive vinyl flooring was so waterproof that "you could put it in the bathtub for three weeks with no damage. It seems to us that the vinyl flooring in the hallway was installed too close to the walls and didn't allow for the vinyl to expand over time. She said, "the floor was installed three years ago (not true. the floor was installed 2 1/2 years ago) and the floor is out of warranty." "I'll send Tom out to take a look when he's in the area." Nobody came out. I called a number of times during work hours but received no answer. The wife did respond with a phone text saying, there was no fault with the installation, reporting that they did the job wrong will get me nowhere and they will come out to look at the floor for $125.00 service fee. I expected a more professional attitude and at this point I have consulted a lawyer.

"Well its been months since this customer left this reveiw in which he talks about how horrible of a company i run. I have heard not a word from any lawyer because im sure if has called any knowledgeable attorney they would inform him that almost 3 years from the time the job was installed i have no responsibility to do amything about work that was performed close to 1000 days ago. If he would have just asked me to stop by n take a look i would have. But calling and immediately saying we did something wrong and without even any proof that we did anything wrong is even more crazy. He says on the phone i know you didnt leave enuff gap aroubd the edge of the floor. I asked did u take the 1/4 round up to see how much gap we left. His reply was no i havent. I asked so how do u know how much gap we did or didnt leave around the edge. The fact of the matter is if we dodnt ave proper expansion gaps there wouldve been problems with the job long long before here we are 3 years later. If a floor goes all 4 seasons where things get hot/ get cold/ expand/ contract/ etc. And if you have no problems it was not the fault of anything having to do with the installation. And please beleive if this customer will go out if his way to call me numerous times amd write this reveiw almost 3 years later if there was any problem with any molding he mentions in the reveiw i think it pretty obvious i would have hears about it loooonng before now and many times over. Nothing last forever and blaming people who did right by you is not the way to go about dealing with things when problems arise years down the line."

These guys were great, definitely using again! They beat other quotes by over 20%, with a higher quality carpet too. Very quick, from initial call to installed carpet was 4 days! The owner came to provide the estimate and was a great guy to work with. The installers were great guys.. extremely polite with my family, and did a perfect job. This is definitely my go-to flooring company in the future. Highly recommended and I am tough to please!

Hired Dependable Carpet to replace carpet throughout the house, roughly 2000 sq ft of wall to wall carpet over 3 stories. We shopped around and got multiple quotes, and Tom (the owner) not only was very informative but about 15% cheaper than everyone else as well. His crew showed up on time and worked about 23 hours over two days (they did a 3 day job in 2 days). They were very careful with the furniture, walls and baseboards. Nailed floor boards where needed. Tom and his wife Monique also stopped buy to inspect. I could not have been happier with the carpet and installation. I would highly recommend Dependable Carpet and Tom to anyone looking for carpet.

Tom and his crew did an outstanding job on a short time schedule around the Christmas holiday period. Second time we have used Dependable Carpeting and both experiences were exceptional. Tom is response to emails and really goes the extra mile to meet the customer's needs. He completed this project on time as he committed despite family illness. Great job and highly recommend. In both projects he replaced all carpeting in a large third and fourth floor walk up condo.

Installers made their own schedules depending on other jobs they wanted to do. I was told that each room would take a day, instead they took several days each. There was some confusion about furniture/appliances being moved or not by the installers. The installer who did the main rooms was excellent, however the people who installed the stairs were not. They never showed up when they were supposed to, and once I came home and found my front door propped wide open by the installer on a 20 degree day. The bullnose on my steps popped loose, and the owner said it was because of the weight of a contractor that I had hired. They started the job in Feb 2017, and they were there several times because they didn't complete trim etc. I contacted the owner to tell him that two of the steps needed repair again in April 2017 and he said he was going to schedule it. They never came to fix. So I contacted again in June 2017. He said he would schedule. It is now October 2017 and I have not heard from him again.

Dependable Carpet and Flooring (Tom & Monique Munson) were an absolute pleasure to work with. From the consultation to the installation, everything went amazing & smooth. The owners, Tom & Monique are very knowledgeable about flooring, options, and was a no pressure, no gimmicks kind of company, and the utmost professional. Tom took his time asking questions, trying to figure out what we really needed and then began to give us options that best suited our particular needs. In our case, the dogs had basically destroyed the carpeting throughout the house. The installers (Dave & Damion) were very efficient, meticulous and professional. All debris was cleaned up & the house was left very neat & tidy. I can't say enough great things about the incredible customer service we received from the beginning of the job to the end. I know if I ever need any more tile, floor, or carpet work done in the future, I will be calling Tom & Monique and Dependable Carpet. I highly recommend them!

I had flooding in my basement. After the water restoration company finished their cleanup and drying work, and the drywall/trim restoration and painting job was completed, I got some bids to carpet my entire basement and steps. Once I started getting various firms to give me pricing on comparable products, it became apparent that nobody was even coming close to Tom’s prices. So my decision problem was reduced to which carpet/padding combination to have Tom install with my budget (which was set by the insurance adjuster). Tom was very good about recommending various products, as well as pricing out a bunch of alternatives I found on my own. It was very easy and fast to communicate with him, as he responds to emails and text messages almost immediately. He was very patient with me, let me take my time choosing a product, and never pushed to get a contract signed. He guided me very well in finding the best carpet/padding mix with my budget. Once we decided on the products to install, Tom came for a second measurement to confirm his initial measurements and placed the order to have the carpet and padding shipped from Georgia. It took ten days from that point for my basement to be carpeted. His installers were really good. They finished the job in one day (5-6 hours). We had bunch of furniture and a treadmill on our basement floor, and they worked around them. Our basement looks amazing and it is very comfortable. Our son loves to go down there and play on the carpet. Given the great work he did and the low price he was able to offer, I wholeheartedly recommend Tom to everybody. If you are doing a carpeting project without getting a bid from him, you most likely are missing out on an opportunity. I would not think twice to hire him again for my next carpeting job. He also does hardwood floors, which I have a lot of on my first floor, so I am looking forward to working with him on sanding & refinishing my hardwood floors down the road (once my son is done destroying the existing one). He already gave me a quote on it while he was in my house measuring the basement.

From the consultation to the installation, everything went smoothly. The owner Tom is super knowledgeable about flooring, options, and was a very laid back, low pressure, no gimmicks kind of guy....and the utmost professional. He took his time asking questions, trying to figure out what we really needed and then began to give us options that best suited our particular needs. In our case, the dogs had basically destroyed the carpeting in 3 rooms and we had food/drink stains everywhere from the kids. He suggested a special padding that would help prevent liquids from soaking through the padding and a stain resistant fiber. His installation crew was also quick and competent. But what made this whole process shine for us was they disassembled and moved our entertainment center, which we will refer to as the "beast" - without any complaints or problems. The beast stands at 10 ft tall, probably weighs about 600 lbs and is actually 5 pieces bolted together. A full grown man had to stand inside this thing to get the mid section down. I could've been nervous about the whole ordeal, but Tom showed up just to make sure everything went great and to lend his crew a hand - that's someone who truly cares about his customers and his company. We are so glad we found Tom on Angie's list. Don't hesitate and call Tom TODAY.

I had good customer service all along the way. The owner I spoke to on the phone was very easy to talk to. We also had a lady come out to do the estimate and show color samples who was very friendly. The man who did the refinishing had some equipment problems which caused a slight delay but he was quick to fix his machine and did good work. He patiently mixed different stains and sampled them to give us exactly what we wanted. <br /> Bottom line: the floor looks great, there was no mess, and we're very happy. <br />

Finding and choosing a carpet installer was painful, since there's a lot of salesmen out there "selling." My wife and I did a ton of research on what we wanted in a carpet, and several other carpet guys kept trying to convince us to buy lesser carpets so they could keep the price out of the stratosphere. <br /> Then we find Tom. He's the owner of Dependable Carpets and does all his quotes himself. And he really went the extra mile to find the carpet we wanted at a great price. He even beat big box store price for a similar (but not quite as good) carpet. And beating a box store's price for something like this, well, I couldn't be happier. Plus we got his guys who did a really fantastic installation of it. <br /> I should also add he really worked a miracle to get this carpet delivered and installed under a very aggressive deadline. <br /> Tom moved mountains for us and delivered a great carpet at a great price, with great installation. And yes, his guys cleaned up after themselves! <br /> Thank you, Tom. <br /> <br />

The quality was poor. It was sloppy, there were bumps on the floors, the color was inconsistent and they had to come back and do it again. <br />

"correction : The floors were not redone, there were other contractors working the home while we were working who couldnt seem To keep the hvac system off when we were working so there was dust in the air as we were coating with polyurathane Therefore there was definatly some texture in the floor that we came back to screen off the gave the customer an additional coat of polyurathane at no charge. They were not resanded or restained and the color is 100% consistant as they were done by a man who has been sanding and refinishing floors for over 15yrs. Things dont always go smooth when working in the same home with other Contractors but thats what we agreed to take on with this project but we always have and always will stand behind our work even if it cost us extra time and expense. This customer was recomended to my company from another customer who has been recomending me to all of her freinds amd family for over 15 yrs. Must say a little suprised at this reveiw being the lenghts i went to to fis a problem we didnt cause in the first place. But hey, like they say you cant win them all but as one can read by reading all of my reveiws/ 9.9 out of 10 people are very please with what we do."

They were excellent! I first asked for ceramic tile and he came and showed me samples but the price was a little high. He then suggested vinyl flooring. He showed me some samples of the vinyl flooring. I chose a vinyl and I love it. They did a great job on installation. They did the job quicker than a lot of bigger stores could and they were cheaper. They were very helpful with the moving of the appliances out of the kitchen and even put them back after they were finished.

I was delighted when Tom showed up on time for the scheduled appointment. He answered all my questions thoroughly and patiently. He took all the measurements and wrote me up an estimate. His price was far more competitive than the other estimates I received. He worked with me on different install dates due to my hectic work schedule and got me set within 10 days of signing. <br /> <br /> Joe showed up on time and with plenty of tools. He immediately started prepping the area. He was very cautious and respectful in moving my appliances, side cabinets, pantry door, and railing. He used those moving discs to scoot out the stove but he also put long thin slices of wood down on my old floor so as not to scratch the floor. We had to put the stove in the living room and he brought a huge blanket to lay underneath so nothing wouldn't happen to my carpet. I didn't care a fig about my old decrepit carpet but he did. He noticed a small problem with a support brace under two of my boards. He found a solution and promptly fixed it. He did a fantastic job on the install and cleaned up the area very well. He's very respectful, professional, and experienced. <br /> <br /> My job went smoothly from start to finish. I recommend Dependable carpet highly for your next job. Thank you Mr. Munson and Joe for my beautiful floors. You guys are awesome and wish you many more years of success.
