Landscape - Install Landscaping for Yard or Garden
The whole experience was top notch, Vance was excellent at explaining the plants he chose and how to care for them after the work was done, The 3-D modeling was awesome as well. The install crew was equally impressive and they had our project done in less than two days. The project entailed removing several old rose bushes and other plants, digging out our sandy soil and replacing it with organic top soil and mulch. We also had several new plants planted and they all look great. We would highly recommend Vance and Design one for any landscaping project you have

Interlocking Pavers for Patios, Walks & Steps Installation
Was originally looking to get on a list for a spring install. Was talked into a late install, because "they worked into December all the time." It became too cold to complete the work. We were left with an incomplete project and a torn up yard over the winter. Contract stated that 1/3 of payment was due at completion. They asked for 90% payment. I refused. Work was eventually completed and payment was made. We like the completed project, but there was a lot more drama than was necessary.

"I am happy to learn that you enjoyed the results of your project. Elegio worked hard to finish as much as he could as the winter weather came quicker than anticipated. We did not want to rush the work and have your lawn restoration fail as the weather grew colder far quicker than in previous seasons. We never ask for 90% for an uncompleted jobs. Our policy is 30% down and 30% when the job is started with the balance due upon completion. Since there were minor issues mainly being grade and seed we ask that instead of the full balance to paid to hold back 10%. While you disagreed we felt if was only fair. Ultimately, we ask you pay what you felt was fair and we accepted the partial payment. It was not intended to frustrate you. We finished 90% of the project and that is what we based our billing on. As a family owned company, we would not have left you hanging in the spring. We wanted your project to turn out beautiful, and laying down the seed to restore the lawn would have been unfair to you. It would not have come out the way it did when planted in the spring, especially with the early snow we saw during the project. We place a high level of quality when not only doing the job but the final touches as well."

Being that creating that this planting bed would be a small job, I had some concerns that I would find a reputable landscaper that would quote it. Tim the sales rep came out within 3 days to quote. The job started within 10 working day. I can’t say enough nice things about Tim and his crew. It would just take up too much space on this short note. Their work ethics are exceptional.

Landscape - Install Landscaping for Yard or Garden
We had hired another company last year to do some work in our yard and were left with a mess. Design One was able to fix the mess and make it look better than the other company was going to. From the first time we spoke with the office until we signed a contract with Kurt to have our front flower bed re-worked and a pathway created between our garage and shed, the experience made us feel comfortable and sure that this company would treat us properly. The work was done within 2 days and looks great! We will definately use this company for any future yard needs and will refer them to anyone who needs landscaping work done.

Retaining Wall - Install
The Design One team provided the best quote, started and completed the job as planned, provided excellent work/craftsmanship and exited the property cleanly as expected. The job had two minor over-runs that were discussed ahead of time and agreed to. The finished product is superior to the original as multiple problems with the initial design technique were remedied. Overall, Design One met or exceeded expectations and is highly recommended for future Landscape Construction Services.

Don’t waste your money. They planted some other type of evergreens, when I clearly have emerald green arborvitae’s. Would not replace! I had several issues with them.

Design One did a great job on our total backyard remodeling project. They tore out our old patio, walkway and landscaping. Then installed a raised paver brick terrace, walls, walkway, stone wall and did all the landscaping and grass to finish the job. We are getting many complements from family, neighbors and visitors. They were on time and were willing to come back to adjust and fit the tile to the beams for the pergola installation.

We absolutely love our landscape that Vance designed for us. Everything from our first meeting to the completion of our project went seamlessly. We first met with Vance at our project site and we discussed what we liked and wanted and he listened. We had a blank slate that required everything from adding top soil, full irrigation system, landscape lighting, extending downspouts, trees, shrubs, perennials, sod and hydro seed. When we met shortly after our initial meeting to see that Vance envisioned for us, we were blown away. He created our perfect landscape! Better than what we could ever have imagined. All of our neighbors continually comment on how beautiful our landscaping is. Vance and Design One stay available for questions on plant and tree care months later. Very disappointed in this regrading lawn project. First make sure that all work to be done / not done is in writing before they start. Don't fall for the "if we don't do it, we won't charge you for it." Second, and most importantly they didn't compact the soil they brought in, so the area looked level when they left, but after several weeks of watering the lawn is now VERY lumpy.

"Unfortunately, the customer signed his contract with a scope of work that was under what our crews typically do, but we tried to assist him in his needs as he was having trouble finding a vendor to do it. He only informed us of changing his scope of work upon us getting on site which we were not expecting. So the job was reduced even lower than he originally agreed to which is not fair to us. He also ask for a senior discount which we agreed to at the original quote and then took out a substantial amount of work. Had we known this before he signed his proposal, we would have declined the job all together. And no, we do not compact soil when providing a seed bed. Makes no since. Reluctantly we reduced his price for the portion he completed before we arrived and tried to make the best of the reduced scope of work. He just could not understand we quote jobs and expect that scope of work to remain the same upon arrival. Unfortunate that he is unhappy with our policies but we price jobs that reflect the amount of work requested. One can not ask a crew to show up with a scheduled scope of work and then change his mind. He signed and gave a deposit on the original scope of work and should have honored that proposal. We however reduced his price for the amount of work that the customer did. He just felt that the core charges should have been reduced as well. Same analogy if you buy a dozen donuts you great a break. You buy 6 donuts the price does not stay the same per donut. He said he would cause trouble on social media. Well there are always two sides to the story. We wish him well."

Vance Reisig met with my wife and me at our home; asked questions about our objectives for the project, budget and plant material likes / dislikes. He then produced a design that exceeded our expectations! The design as installed, updates the appearance of our home, will be substantially easier to maintain, and met our budget constraints. Vance "listened" and then delivered on time and with quality. Separately, the crew Vance sent to our home (Supervisor = Jesus) was experienced / professional, responsive to our many questions / requests - and, cleaned up each day before leaving. They were a pleasure to have at our home.

We wanted to have old shrubs, trees, and rocks rearranged and replaced, with massive weeding and tear-out. We worked with Vance at Design One to achieve a low- maintenance and simple landscape with lots of “white space”. We felt listened to as we changed the first plan to meet our needs and to add plants we really wanted. His workers were very careful and we feel we have a manicured landscape- no exaggeration. We are delighted with the result and thrilled how the large, existing boulders were re-used to complement areas they were not in before. They mulched our entire property and it looks fantastic. We couldn’t be happier!

We worked with Kurt Maddox on new landscaping for our front yard and are thrilled with the results. Kurt worked through the whole process from design to implementation. He first met with us to learn our ideas and budget. With these things in mind, the Design One team created a helpful colored rendition of the finished product, The team that did the installation was great and made short order of removing the old trees and shrubs before installing the new plantings. Once the new trees were in, Kurt provided instructions on how to care for them and even stopped by to make sure everything was thriving. We are really happy with the design Kurt created. The plants and trees he selected are beautiful and have contributed greatly to the curb appeal of our home. Thank you!

Design One fixed it all. Jose and Angel did a wonderful job. First removed top layer of clay, leveled it and added topsoil. Grass seed and straw next. Everything exceeded my expectations. Frank, make sure these two guys stick around.
