Mike and his team were a pleasure to work with. The job was done on time within my budget. The roof and siding looks great. I'll be contacting them soon to start on my kitchen and garage.

We were very impressed with Mike Shapiro, the owner, and his team. They did an outstanding job. It was a great experience right from the initial meeting up to the end of the project. It was a pleasure dealing with Mr. Shapiro. He was very helpful and knowledge in putting everything together for us. He provided us with ideas and selections to help us match everything together, from the vinyl siding, trim, porch decking and railings and the screen enclosure. He made the process easy for us and we gained a lot of confidence and trusted his guidance, as it showed in the end product. Mike Shapiro has high standards and values in selecting his team. His employees are all very knowledge, professional and take pride in their work. They care about doing a great job and always went above and beyond. They showed a lot of respect for us and our property. They were always a pleasure to be around, very easy to talk to and were always happy to answer any questions we had. They were always on top of everything that needed to be done and very detailed oriented. It was nice to see how well they worked so well together and enjoyed their work. They even worked through the most trying times for contractors with all the delays because of Covid. We had a couple of delays because of products not being available. Mr. Shapiro offered other options that were available that we could have selected. But we opted to wait for the product we wanted. Once the product came in, they showed up promptly to finish the job. We were impressed on how well they handled the situation during these times. We were very happy with the results of the job from D&H Construction and their team. We would highly recommend them.

Very pleased with final result and appreciated the responsiveness shown by Mike Shapiro, the owner, when issues arose. Job did take about 3 weeks longer than originally planned. One week lost due to quartz countertop supplier being closed between Christmas and New Year (note: supplier was not a D&H subcontractor; it was a supplier recommended by the design firm I used). Additional time lost when cabinet tops appeared crooked due to slope in my ceiling that wasn't apparent with my old cabinets (which didn't go all the way to the ceiling like new ones). D&H corrected the problem but it involved pushing up the ceiling where it sloped and inserting layers of plaster to straighten out the ceiling. This was a slow process since the plaster had to dry between applications.

Mike has been key in helping me prioritize my home repair projects. Initially I contacted him about replacing my rotting siding, and we talked that through, but then I asked him for his opinion about my roof. He said "If this was my house, I'd tackle that first". And as he said, that's not the "fun" or "beautiful" part of renovation, but it was very necessary. I was very pleased with how the roof turned out, and I look forward to working with him on our siding project next. <br />

I hired D&H to reside my storefront.  The building itself is about 100 years old, and the siding is around 35 years old.  D&H took off the original siding, boarded up 5 windows, insulated the inside where they took out the windows, replaced 3 more windows with modern style windows, boxed off an inlet, resided with Hardie Cement Fiberboard, trimmed, and painted.   <br /> The crew is absolutely TOP NOTCH.  I've had many contractors at my homes and business, these were perhaps the most professional.  They showed up, on time, every day (unheard of).  They were exceptionally polite.  They were knowledgeable.  They went about their work and got everything done.  I had full faith that they were not cutting any corners or trying to save time.  They even showed up in the rain!!! <br /> In the end I am VERY pleased with how my storefront looks.  I would gladly recommend D&H to any Business or Private party. <br />

I am super impressed by the quality of work that D&H did.  They were professional all around.  Mike Shapiro, the co-owner, is amazingly knowledgable, and very honest about what to expect with the work they are doing.  When I was doing estimates for our roof, he took plenty of time to answer the many questions I had and also help me decide on a few things that were going to stretch our budget.  He didn't pressure me to go with the most expensive option, he was very honest about what needed to be done versus what was optional. <br /> The work crew that did the roof was very nice, the foreman took time out of the job to walk me through everything while they were doing it.  They were also very friendly. <br /> A note about cost:  We got 4 estimates done for our roof.  D&H was the second most expensive.  However, given the fact that they have an office staff and took care of every detail for us, and the quality of the work, I would say that you're paying for quality here, and I don't mind that.  With that said, I give a B for cost since there are cheaper options for roofing out there. <br /> One critique is that since D&H seems to be so busy, it does take them a bit of time to get back to you sometimes.   <br /> All that said, I will definitely be using them again and would highly recommend!  <br /> <br />

From the very beginning Mike and his crew were reassuring and helpful in educating me regarding the process. Not only did they have great ideas, but the workmanship?or should I say craftsmanship?and the the attention to detail was superb, taking care of details I hadn't even imagined. Mike kept everything running smoothly and was always responsive when I emailed him questions. <br /> I couldn't have been more pleased with the way my new kitchen and dining room have turned out. I highly recommend D & H Construction and plan on using them for a bathroom remodel next. <br />

Mike Shapiro and his crew did a wonderful job from start to finish. Mike was very helpful in proving options for all the work I wanted to have done. He has great vision of what the finished product will look like and also has a great eye for detail. He has very high standards for the work being done and will have it redone if he feels the work has not been properly completed. <br />His crew had to do exterior work in the very trying weather conditions of 2015. They never complained and only stayed home when driving was forbidden by the governor. The quality of their work, both exterior and interior, was excellent. Mike came by daily to check on their progress. He is very easy to talk to and explained every portion of the process in clear terms. I have been very impressed with his knowledge of products as well as his management style. <br />I highly recommend D and H construction and will definitely call Mike for my next project. <br />

It went fine.  Overall it took 4 men 5 1/2 days, with a couple of those days being less than a full day, and less than 4 men.  Every window was measured, and all windows were correctly built. No changes in plan, and no disagreements on what was to be done or how it was to be done,  Very courteous and skilled carpenters and window installers.  They left the house clean each day, and when all finished. We're very pleased with the work, how it was done, and the way the crew behaved. <br />

They are experienced, very skilled and dependable.Things went smoothly. Mike was on the job daily. <br /> Dand H is a long standing, local, second generation, general contracting business. Initially, I contacted Mike to replace fire damaged siding on one side of my house. My first contact was with Gwen, Office Manager. She’s been with Mike for over 10 years. She keeps the place moving and communication flowing. She is a point of contact for the customer and she knows the business. <br /> Phone calls and emails are returned in a timely fashion. <br /> A lot of their business is word of mouth. they don't do a lot of advertising. Initially I was hesitant to contact them because they didn't have many ratings on Angies List. But, I wasn't especially happy with many of the well advertised companies, or the sales people I had spoken and met with. I took a chance with Dand H. <br /> <br /> The job I needed done wasn’t a huge job still Mike came out to meet with me. He showed up on time, is well spoken, clean shaven, well groomed, his shirt tucked in, and his pants sat at his waist! He grew up in the business and owns this company passed from his father. He is professional and a pleasant person. He gave me a price for a partial residing. <br /> Sometime later I decided to change the scope of the job and to reside the whole house. I called Mike back. He gave me a fair estimate. I started to get the feeling the job I needed done would be in good hands and these were trustworthy people. I asked for references. They were easily given. I checked four. Each reference spoke of Mike’s fairness, quality work, and ethics. All four were stellar. Mike worked with me to put together a contract we could both feel comfortable with. We agreed on a price and contract terms. <br /> The best was yet to come. Mike’s crew arrived and got right to work. They were experienced. They stripped the house, wrapped and resided it, installed new gutters and shutters – The same workers from beginning to end. They did the whole job. NO problems! It was clear to me they had worked together before and knew what they were doing. They were quick, but precise. The lead man has been siding for over 20 years. He doesn’t just side a house, it is clear he is a very skilled craftsman. I will be a repeat customer to D and H for any upcoming projects. This is not a high pressure group. No slick promises, just good work at a fair price. If you have any related work to be done, give Mike Shapiro a real good look and your consideration.

Wonderful! They are very respectful, they listen to me and don't pretend. I'm very happy with them and will used them in the summer.

I liked them. I did not find them through Angie's List. I spent an average amount. It cost probably $10000 for the roof and $15000 for the bathroom. I thought that their price was good. They had some good ideas. They did it quicker than the other estimates that I got. I only had one bathroom. So, it was important to keep it functioning and they did that. They came up with some really good ideas to remodel a little bit that I had not thought of before. They were very friendly and courteous. They were clean and they cleaned up everything. I had no qualms about leaving the house and going to work leaving them there. They were working inside and not outside that they did not have to get in. They did not have an awful lot of people roaming through the house and it was just a few people on the job. They were good. The owner was Mr. Michael and he had a lot of ideas. I was looking to do something with the great big walk in closet for years but could not come up with anything. When he had the chance to remodel he came up with the idea to split it in half, make a linen closet in the bathroom and a coat closet in the hallway which worked out well as I got extra closet space. They completely did the roof over and the garage roof. There were some shingles that were left over and so, they re-roofed the shed which I did not ask them to do. They were very courteous. He is a very nice person and he would listen to you when you go back and forth with ideas. He will actually listen to you unlike some contractors who will just stare at you. I found that to be true. I plan to use him next year too.

They were top notch from start to finish on all projects. We have recommended them to friends who are also delighted with the work performed. I highly recommend this great company.
