Reviews
Write a ReviewDowngrading my review to three stars. I paid Diamond Cut to install compacted quarter minus. It started progressively disintegrating after about two weeks. Some of it simply turned to mud after the first rain. After a couple of months it has disintegrated to the point that there is little to no compacted surface over quite a bit of the yard. Dan first said that he would have it "re-compacted around the edges." Never happened. Then he said that he would have someone "spray it with glue." Never happened. My request for a 50% refund for what he charged me to install the compacted quarter minus has been ignored.
Diamond Cut is a reliable, honest company to work with. They stand behind their work, work efficiently and provide beautiful results. We will continue to hire them for additional work with our landscape design.
Exceeded my expectations!! Dan and his crew are true professionals who do the best work. They truly care about your vision and do everything they can to make it happen. They are extremely easy to work with and always there if you need anything. Looking forward to working with Diamond on all future projects
We recently hired Diamond Cut to redesign our front yard including new pavers, grass, rock, etc. We initially met with a few companies but ultimately chose Diamond Cut. Not only were they more reasonably priced, Dan (owner) took the time to really understand our style and vision for the space. While they were here his team was very courteous and professional. The work was extremely high quality and we have already started talking to Dan about our next project. I would highly recommend Diamond Cut to anyone looking for a full service landscape design company.
Upgrading this review to 4 stars. Ultimately, Dan was good to his word. It took a while but several problems were fixed. After a first visit with Dan, I thought we would have a great experience. Nope!. Estimated completion time: 10 to 12 working days. Contract dated February 20. Work completed April 16. Once they had most of the money & done most of the work, they lost interest & stopped communicating. Most of the work was completed quickly. They promptly dealt with issues & tended to be pretty flexible. They are not safety conscious with electrical work. Two issues. One, an outdoor electrical outlet. I had to insist that they replace the outlet with a GFCI outlet preferably combined with a switch. They installed a GFCI outlet along with WiFi box that allowed the fountain to be turned on/off remotely. I am concerned about longevity since the switch box is just dangling from the outlet. I would have built an integrated outlet/switch box structure containing and rigidly mounting both components. 2nd issue: Pergola electrical wiring for ceiling fan. I asked for a jbox to which I could mount a ceiling fan. The answer was "No, we are not going to do that." I was told to do it myself. Also, the wiring simply passes through a hole cut into the pergola metal. This leaves the electrical wiring in direct contact with a sharp metal edge. I asked them to install a rubber grommet to isolate the wire from the sharp metal edge. The answer was "No, this is how we always do it". I purchased and installed a rubber grommet myself to prevent cold flow. The biggest issue is with the raised garden boxes that they installed. Whoever built them has very poor carpentry skills. I am absolutely positive that I could have done a better job myself. I do not consider the quality of these boxes to be anything close to professional. Dan, is this something that you would have in your back yard? I would be embarrassed to have built these for someone else. The boxes are functional, for now, but they are not aesthetically pleasing to look at and they are already showing signs of deterioration. I am very concerned about their longevity. I firmly believe that after two or three summers I will have to build shells around these boxes to hold them together. The mitered joints were poorly cut and leave quite a bit of space between boards. A pretty poor attempt was made to fill the gaps with caulking that does not match the color of the boards. Many of the boards are bowed and one top rail is already separated from the structure. An annoying issue with the boxes is that the person who built them could not install screws in a straight line. In one case, most of the screws were in a reasonably straight line. But, one of the screws was offset from the line by about an inch. I pointed this out and the next thing I knew there was another screw installed next to the one that was out of place but was inline with the other screws. Now, there are two screws almost side by side and making things look even worse. In another case, the screws towards the bottom stray away from being on a reasonably straight line. None of the screw holes were drilled/countersunk. Screws were simply driven in until the heads were below the surface of the boards and material started squeezing out. Then they tried to cover the horrible looking screw holes with caulking that does not match the color of the boards.
From start to finish this professional, they showed up when they said they would show up and not one day. Did they not come over and finish the job? I could be more happier with the work performed. I would recommend my friends everyone who will listen.
Very professional and helpful. I recommend them for any yard remake

Diamond Cut is very knowledgeable about landscaping, plants, and is very responsive, moving the design process along. Besides being very knowledgeable, Dan also has a creative design bent that puts his work above others.
