It went extremely well. The garage door opener was installed in several hours. When he was finished, he took the time to explain how the system worked, and didn't leave until he was sure we knew how the opener. Very professional.

Technician arrived on time and was very pleasant to work with. Did not try to sell me anything additional. Adjusted spring and lubricated rollers. Door works well. Will refer neighbors to them, if they need work on the garage door.

I called a few other garage door companies before reaching out to Discount Garage Doors, but they told me I had to wait at least a week. I would highly recommend this friendly hardworking company for all and any garage door repairs.

The office staff were very polite and got me on schedule the same day. The technician was very corteous and showed up right on time. Love this company and will call them with any repairs in the future.

Garage Door Opener Repair

Technician reset programming on old system. It did not last. He returned the next day and replaced the system. He worked quickly and efficiently.

All went well. Technician arrived on time and was courteous, efficient and quick. The quality of the parts and the work is very good. The value for the price was good. The door continues to work well.

This past Saturday my garage door opened 2 inches and stopped. On Sunday, the belt on my garage opener snapped. I called Discount Garage Doors on Sunday. They were able to schedule an appointment on Tuesday and everyone was polite. Well, I was taken for a ride and I feel just awful about it. The sales guy said I needed new springs, new rails, new rollers, and new bearings. He told my Genie was absolute junk and told me how wonderful the new unit would be - perfectly silent, he said! The price was hundreds more than I was quoted over the phone (I didn't receive anything in writing until the work was done) and to add insult to injury, the garage door opener makes a terrible noise. Buyer beware! At 9pm last night, I was handing over a credit card for $1450 with some crazy math - where *I* paid for the warranty the sales guy said was *included*. He charged $350 for torsion springs that say $178-238, $175 for a warranty I never asked for but he told me was included because I bought the more expensive model (with wifi and an app that does not work), told me if I would replace the cables, he could call my repair a "rebuild" which would save me money. Looking at my receipt, I can't even make the math add up to the total he gave me. He quoted $450 for the lower model and $100 more for the wifi model but after the install when we couldn't get the WIFI to work, he said he would give me the opener for the $450 since I only wanted the 852 for the WIFI capabilities. So here's my receipt: $50 bearing, $350 torsion, $175 for an extended warranty I didn't ask for, $115 for an hour of labor, $37 for fuel/misc (which he initially said was 9%?) and the writing so faint on the opener, I can't read it. The items I can read total $727 which would make the opener that makes a lot more noise than the Genie he told me was junk ever made $723. I feel like I've been ripped off - it's an awful feeling. Don't make the same mistake as I did.

Excellent! Initially I planned on having the garage door opener repaired. However after reviewing the options with the service technician he convinced me to replace it with a new model. I am very happy I did - the new unit is exceptionally quiet and far superior in performance and capabilities (e.g., Alexa) than the original model. The installation was completed quickly and well for a very reasonable price. This purchase has far exceeded expectations and is actually a joy to use. I highly recommend Discount Garage Doors for all service work.
