Dish Network Retailer Satellite Country

They have been great. It been going good for me. I been wit them for a while.

They came and installed the service.  Every room they were in, they made a mess.  I have over a dozen pictures of holes they drilled, wires left dangling, and satellite dishes that are ungrounded.The other issue is they used my charge card to get the internet box which was $56.  Then, they started using my charge card for my monthly service which I didn't authorize.  I've been trying to get out of my service with them.  I finally got hold of someone and explained everything.  I'm still not getting all the channels I should.He said, 'we're going to have to go back and listen to the call to make sure you didn't authorize this charge card.'  I talked with them yesterday.  He said I was right, and they would deduct $10 off per month.  I said no, I want their equipment picked up and discontinue their service.  they want to charge me $900 now to remove their service.  They told me the system wasn't installed correctly and that's why I'm not getting all of my channels.  I am going to call the BBB today also.  Four days after I installed the system, I called to discontinue it and they won't remove it without a fee of $900.00.

It did not go as stated they never called or showed up!

I was very impressed with the installer who was sent. He mounted the dish without drilling through my new roof, which might have voided my roof warranty, Also, he mounted the dish in a location where it is easy for me to brush the snow off it in winter. I appreciate his knowledge and thoughtfulness. Also, they didn't charge me to re-install the dish.

The bill wasn't so bad in the beginning. They took the programming and rearranged, it, so programs on that were on basic package were moved so you couldn't get them. To get those programs, you'd have to move to a different package. Over time the plan went form about $30 to $100. It wasn't worth it, especially because I'm not watching it. There isn't any reason for me pay for it. I stopped using it all together. I had a friend who put the antenna back up to make sure it worked, and that day Dish sent a tech to take it down. The tech wouldn't take the equipment with him, and said that Dish would sent a return kit via USPS to our house and I could mail it back to them. This was on June the 18th. This would hold the receiver, the satellite dish, the 'L" shaped dish, the remotes and paperwork, and contain all the proper labels. They told me it would be 3-5 business days. I called them the following Friday, and it still hadn't arrived. They then told me it could take 10 business days. I called them back today, and they passed me off to 3 different people. One of the tech admitted that they never put the order though to send the return kit. They admitted themselves that they had never sent. The Supervisor, Christian he said his call letters were YLM. He said "I assure you that the box kit will be sent out today, and will arrive via UPS 5-10 business days." If I send it back myself there won't be any credit, because I don't have a routing number. If I don't send it back, they'll charge me $200 for it. They've got me between a rock and a hard place. They're trying to make it as hard for anybody to get out it of as they can. I think the reasoning is because they want you to just keep the service and have them come back out and install it. They're not an honest or reputable company. I will not do business with them again. I've giving them a F for price because of the corrupt way they kept increasing it. I've giving them an F for quality, because most of it is just Paid Programming. Why would I pay to watch paid programming, and watch someone try to sell me something. I'm given them a D on responsiveness, because when I had technical problems, they did respond and walk me through it. I'm giving them an F for their professionalism because they kept shifting me around to other people, and I'm convinced I never spoke to a supervisor. They have suspended my service, but I'm still paying for it. They said they will reimburse me, once they receive the equipment. But they're making it impossible. They tell you you're responsible for getting the equipment back to them, but they make it impossible to do. The meter is still running.

I am very happy with Dish. The price is comparable to anybody else. I have never checked the price of anyone else. The only other ones to compete there would be satellite dishes as part of the island is not even wired for cable. The quality of the service is good.

They did fine. They could be better. When they came out, they didn't bring the Rock box so it caused another service fee and the guy that was here was supposed to take care of that. I think he called them to take it off but they didn't. So its still billing and its all screwed up. They went up more than they said they'd go up. They had to come out twice.

The dish guy was okay. His dish was good but it was a bundle deal and another provider showed up and it was substandard and the whole package that they sold me was all fictitious and full of hot air. They sold me a security package and it was Dish sales but they sold me a security package under another provider. They made such a big to do about the camera's of the security system and thank God they didn't have them in stock as it took them forever and a day and they still did not call me so I called them and they said "oh yeah we got them in" and I said never mind I have already gone over my monthly limit, nobody happened to mention that if you run your internet between 2 and 8 in the morning you've got a fighting chance but your 10 gig of prime time, your going to run out. Needless to say the security camera's are going to run you right over the top so fast that you are not even going to know what happened to your data. The guy that installed the system ruined a few of the screens in the crawl space as he ran it through there. Trying to get a straight answer out of Dish was not good as I must have called 4 different numbers and I backed them right into a corner on the thing and they admitted that it was going to cost me $200.00 for their hopper box and then $13.00 a month for rental on the hopper box and it's still going to use data. They did not want to admit that I had to look at movies from 2 to 8 in the morning in order to avoid killing my data. Needless to say if they ever come down the road with fiber optics that will be the end of my time using them. You cannot get a straight answer out of this company at all. They have breached the contract that I signed with them many times already. They put you on hold for a long time when you call.

It turned out good. It took them a long time to get the gift card to me but other than that everything went fine. Every time I talked to somebody I would tell them it's an Angie's List Big Deal and I think that some place along the line somebody didn't  pay attention to that. I don't know if there's a commission involved on the other end or something, so I had to call back two or three times to get it all finished up and get the gift card and I think they even had to have a refund. It was a little bit of a hustle. It took a lot of time for the right person to get what I needed.

I'm very disappointed with them. They are very expensive. My initial disappointment with them is whenever I called on the telephone to his rule and I was told at the time that there was no contract but sure enough there is a two year contract. I was told a price that was much cheaper than what I ended up paying and I'm paying $150 which is way too much but there's no way I can handle that and I was not told that I would have limited amount gigabyte on my internet connection. So at half way through the month I've used up their total and I have to pay more for it which is ridiculous. They could have been truthful at the very beginning and they could have supplied me with all the information I needed concerning my use of the internet. So I think they lied to me and didn't tell me all of the truth.
