Dixon Painting just finished painting my house and we are definitely not disappointed. The entire process from 1st appt for a quote to finishing the project was seamless. Definitely recommend!

Very good experience. The siding crew showed up when scheduled and did an excellent job with details. Any issues or questions I had they immediately addressed. After the siding work was finished the paint crew came in right behind them also did an excellent job. Overall positive experience. Pricing was competitive or slightly better than the other two quotes I obtained.

Dixon did a great job installing the siding. They showed up on time and did everything they promised. Dixon started the job with the crew, inspected during the work, and did a final inspection before we made final payment to make sure the job was right and we were happy with what had been done. They cleaned up everyday and it looks like no one was even here. They also painted our home after the siding and their attention to detail is great. I would highly recommend Dixon Painting for siding and painting.

There were 3 guys here for a week. They also power washed it before they painted it. One guy came and did all the power washing one day and then the next week these 3 guys came and spent the week painting it. notice a significant difference when they power washed the home. They did the entire house, the exterior.

Quality good but completeness was a problem, requiring too many redo's and touch-ups. Missed several areas, even though they painted the adjacent area. Crew seemed to be concentrating on their cross-talk more than their work.

Great! Over the years, we have used Dixon to paint at two houses we own, both for interior and exterior painting. For this work, we had to paint the interior of several rooms and walls and stain a deck at one house and paint the exterior of another house. Ian walked us through the work to be done and provided separate estimates as requested. He is very thorough and provided detailed information on the estimates so I could later red-line certain items that I decided to do later. At both houses the painters were always on time, kept the premises clean as they left each day, and overall did a great job. When they found some facia boards that rotted, but were hard to see from the ground, they called me to discuss replacing them and provided an estimate for the unexpected work. The manager, Mauricio, walked through both houses with me to make sure all details were completed to satisfaction. If there were places that needed to be addressed, they were all noted and fixed the first time. Then there was another walk around making sure everything was complete. Mauricio and team were very flexible with my schedule, even stopping for a few days while we were out of town, and then coming back to finish after making sure the schedule worked for me. The entire team were always polite and friendly. They work very hard too. One of the days was in the 40s and windy, and two of the guys were prepping the outside of the house from 8AM to 5:30, stopping only because the sun went down. I was very impressed.

Not well at all. Highly unprofessional, kids with headphones on. Reluctant to fix siding. Did not sand or primer any wood. Was only going to put one coat of paint on ( 2 coats was in the contract) Destroyed brand new drip edge. Did not put drop cloths down. Had to redo fascia boards twice were put on crooked. Obviously they were looking to cut corners wherever possible, They said they worked for Dixon, acted more like subcontractors.

<p>Disappointed. We have used DIxon previously and have recommended them to other family members to use.  This was our last time using Dixon.  Too much hassle and aggravation didn't make it worth the price difference.</p> <p>There is no quality control or walk through of any supervisor prior to them showing up to collect a check.  A crew (non English speaking) shows up, can't communicate, rework is necessary because wrong deck color was purchased, walls were not painted correct color, areas in closet and bathroom were not painted at all and ALOT of oversplash of white paint on the red brick exterior, driveway, etc.  Crew initially was not respectful of the house (trash, drink containers, bathroom usage) or other workers in the house.</p> <p>I feel they only corrected items at my fathers house because we had also contracted with them to do our exterior paint refresh as well.  Same issues and this time an argument from the Quality Manager about all the white paint on our red brick exterior.  He stated that it was the previous painters and essentially called me a liar.  Only the trim, eves, doors, window surrounds, etc. were to be painted.  Repairs were done shoddy and we requested they redo with the materials that were quoted, screens were not put back on the correct windows, windows are painted shut, shrubs were broken and damaged, etc.</p> <p>This used to be a great company and service provider.  They've painted two other houses and a barn of ours over the last 15 years all were great, but something is really lacking in their service approach at this point.  Again, disappointing.</p> <p></p> <p></p>

We hired Dixon because the Angie's list reviews, which  were good, interestingly.  We needed our new, custom replacement windows painted the right way so we wouldn't have to deal with replacements again, so we paid top dollar to a "professional" painter, rather than the independent guys who put flyers in our box, and often do a great job.  We  decided it was time to paint the outside too.  The Dixon painters were so bad.  I had to point out to one that he had to remove the divided light grills from the new widows to paint.   He was painting around them.  Someone translated for me, and I was told that it was too hard to take them out.  Unbelievable!!!!  The window replacement guys had no trouble getting the grills in and out.  Dixon dripped paint all down three of our plantation shutters, which I didn't find until it had dried .They didn't paint the underside of any of the new sills, which were installed primed, so the white was hard to miss.  We asked them to check all woodwork, and replace any rotting pieces.  They didn't find at least 5 places that we ended up replacing and repainting within 6 months of them working on our home.  (We never called Dixon about it because my husband didn't want them back at our house.) They painted right over the rust on the iron rails on the porch with no prep at all, and dripped black paint on our brick steps and porch.  I literally had to walk around the entire work site the whole time they were here to oversee and point out things they had missed or spilled.  The painting was so bad and incomplete and unprofessional that it made me wonder if they had picked up day labor on the way to my house.  I will call the independent guy from the mailbox flyer next time.  He does a much more careful, professional job than Dixon. <br />

It went "ok".  <br /> <strong>What went well:</strong> <br /> - Ian Farrell gave the quote, and he was terrific.  He was very responsive to our initial request; he showed up on time; he was extremely thorough; he worked with us on the price; all great. <br /> <strong>What didn't go as well as i would have liked:</strong> <br /> <blockquote> <ul> <li>- They showed up a day early.  Not a big deal; there was a snafu on the scheduled arrival date.  We were not home when they showed up; we were returning from vacation about 2:00 that afternoon.  They had been working on the exterior items all day without us being there.  It was just a surprise to arrive home and find ladders in my driveway.  But no biggie.</li> </ul> </blockquote> <ul> <li>- The job site foreman spoke almost no english...we had a <strong>VERY</strong> hard time communicating. We struggled through it, but it was frustrating at times.</li> <li>- I work from home for a large corporation and am constantly on the phone. Several times, the job foreman walked into my office, even though the door was almost closed, and started asking me questions, all while I'm in the middle of a conference call.  I had to put several calls on hold in order to respond to him.</li> <li>- Once, the job foreman came into my office to speak with me.  When we were done he started looking around at the photos in my office.  He actually went over to my credenza, picked up a photo and started asking me questions about the person in the photo.  Now I'm a pretty social person, and again, this wasn't a big deal, but it kind of creeped me out.  I felt like a line had been crossed.  I attribute this to cultural differences, and like I said, no big deal, but it left me with an odd feeling. </li> <li>- The quality of the workmanship was mostly good.  I did find some paint spatters on my brand new cabinets in the bathroom, but I should be able to get them off with little effort.</li> <li>- It was a small job, really.  On the second day, they arrived on time, exactly when they said they would.  </li> <li></li> </ul> <p>I've used Dixon before and was happy with them.  But next time.....I'm not so sure i'll go back to the well.  I'll have to really think about it.<br /> <strong>To Angies List:</strong> you may want to have 'maybe' as a selectable option for the question about using this provider in the future.  It's not always a yes or no situation.</p> <br />

They were fantastic. We told them what we were looking for and they matched that paint color. This company did a better job at cleaning up than any other painters we have used before. We would use them again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone!

Very well, from start to finish.  I used Angie's List to gather several companies info and called for quotes.  I found theirs to be very competative and after confirming I'd like to move forward, they scheduled me for an appointment (two day process--first day to clean and second to stain/seal.)  I confirmed I would not need to be on sight, and they took care of everything.  Everything is now cleaned and decks are both sealed to protect from rain. <br />

I was preparing my home to put it on the market and was on a time line to get things done.  This painter was referred to me by a friend that had used them.  I questioned the estimator extensively on their process and was lead to believe they would do a quality job.  <br /> Here's the good: <br /> The guys were nice and friendly, hard workers, people returned phone calls. <br /> They came back several times to try and make the job right and try and address my complaints.  After we had a contract on the house, I noticed that they had not stripped the wallpaper behind the refrigerator or painted.  I called and they did come out timely to do this and did not hold up the sale of the house. <br /> They showed up in the time frame I needed <br /> Their price was reasonable. <br /> They did send a different crews to do some additional work needed and that work was done correctly the first time. <br /> Here is the ugly: <br /> Bottom line:  I was not happy with the quality of their work and that is the reason I would not hire them again.  <br /> There was a lot of wall repair from the wallpaper removal.  The crew sent had a very difficult time getting the walls smooth.  Some walls were spackled 4-5 times before they were adequate, not great.  It is my opinion, they were not trained well and did not have enough experience doing this type of work.  <br /> What the estimator said and what the guys did was not the same. I specifically asked what their paint process was.  The painters did not follow what the estimator said.  The painters were painting the walls but not the trim.  They would paint the wall and then caulk against the trim to get the straight line.  Some times they didn't caulk at all and there were gaps between the wall and the trim.  I talked to the estimator about this and the crew came back out for a full day and fixed the un-caulked areas and painted over the caulk. <br /> They used the garage as a staging area and slopped paint all over the floor.  They left without cleaning it up.  They came back out to clean this up after I complained. <br /> No one from the company really inspected their work or held them to a quality standard.  I was the inspector and the complainer to get the job done to an acceptable level. They had a crew supervisor.  He gave them tasks to do each day and one day he marked places that they should fix but he was seldom around and in my opinion provided little value.  The owner of the company came out one day.  I showed him the tape repair they made in the garage where you could still see the tape lines and his comment was it was a garage.  It was a garage ceiling that I paid $500+ to repair and paint! <br /> I don't know if it was the roller or the way they painted but while the walls were smooth to the touch, they had a textured look to them.  I have never seen this before in a paint job and never want to see it again.  If I had to live there, I probably would have had to repaint some areas to get rid of this. <br /> They did not cover up or seal off the work areas well.  Because of the spackling and sanding, there was lots of plaster dust and it was everywhere. They did not tape off or try to seal rooms to contain the plaster dust.  They were working in my kitchen which was open to the family room.  I had to ask to have the furniture covered up  so the plaster dust wouldn't ruin my furniture and the carpet will never be the same. <br /> The kitchen wallpaper was a bear to get down.  It came off in small shreds. Before they primed the walls they did not wash the walls and make sure they got all the wallpaper off.  I questioned this but was assured that the spackle would cover it up.   It didn't.  The rooms I stripped came out much better then the ones they stripped because I made sure all the paper was scrapped off.  They spackled and sanded some kitchen walls 4 and 5 times trying to get a smooth surface.  When they came out to fix behind the refrigerator, I had them  re-spackle and sand 2 walls again.  They were horrible when the sunlight came in the window.  The painter that came that day agreed they were terrible and needed to be fixed. <br /> I could go on but you have enough to ask questions and protect yourself. <br />

The  experience turned out great. I got a quote and everything before hand, and the price was reasonable. They were very professional, they did a good job as far as I am concerned, and they did it quickly. I had a cedar home, and they had to replace boards as part of the painting, as cedar rots. My husband who is a construction manager was pleased. I was not able to communicate with everybody because so few of them spoke English.

We have a front porch that is on top of a deck foundation.  We have this small deck and steps going down and we wanted it painted with a preservative paint to prevent the rain from rotting it.  The field manager Ian Farrell is a young man who was really nice.  He was very friendly, helpful, honest, and told me everything I needed to have done and even more.  He made suggestions and showed me things that i may consider to do that I didn't even know about how to do.  They do big and small jobs and I chose them because they had a high rating and would do a small job.  They came out and power washed everything for 2 hours and clean the deck and the gutters that were dripping and the walls of the glass doors and windows of the sun room so they could paint all the way around it.  My room looks so good that they cleaned it up before painting.  They waited a while for that to dry then came out to paint.  There was another guy named Mauricio Chavez who was able to interpret what I needed to the rest of his team.  He was great!  He was helpful.  these guys were so nice.  They said this is what we're going to do, this is what we need... They weren't able to paint when they first came back because it was wet so when they came back two guys came and they painted the entire area.  They asked if I wanted a bottom edge and other areas of my porch painted and they suggested extra things that would make the job more complete as opposed as doing just what i told them to do because I didn't know any better.  Everyone who work made all the ideas and suggested things to make the job better.  They painted for about 4 hours.  They did a great job.  Everybody who has seen it since has commented on it.  When Ian was there they said they would take in consideration the weather and do things accordingly.  They were patient and moved everything around and put it all back.  It was very nice that they did that.  I would use again in a minute if I had something that needed painting.

Dixon Painting were the most affordable of the four quotes I received. Their service was without fault. Always arrived on time; efficient; tidy and the crew were very respectable, completing the job in the time estimated.

I was dissatisfied because they said it would be 2 days and it ended up being 4 1/2 days. They didn't provide the crew that they said they would. They didn't arrive when they said they would in the morning and they stayed way into the evening until like 7 pm. The painting job itself was good. The condition under which it was done was dissatisfying. They would say one thing and then do another. One of the managers got a little too friendly with me.

The estimate was made one day after requetes and the work began 3 days later. The work done was meticulas by very courteous work crew that were responsive to questions and requests. The owner, Fernando, came buy every day to make sure everything was going smoothly and to my satisfaction. <br /> Even after discovering additional repairs that needed to be done after the estimate there was not an additional charge. <br /> Having had 2 homes custom built, I have had my share of interaction with contractors. My experience with Dixon was the best of any I have ever had with a contractor. <br /> Paul Regna <br />
