Company claimed they would remove the asbestos floor in the basement after our flooding in August 2025 and put an epoxy down on floor and that it would take about 3 days. During those three days we needed to be out of the house and get a hotel room to live in during those days and nights. and the job was done in under 2 full days. The company did not put an epoxy floor down, only painted the cement floor in the basement and claimed that was an epoxy paint. We did not know this was not right, until our walls were being repaired and the paint came us from the cement floor. When this was brought to their attention, they informed us that they would put an epoxy floor down and that they would not refund us or compensate us for any time either. They could do this without damaging the new walls/footboards, but after three more days of work (and us missing our own work and pay for those days), the epoxy was put down, but the walls/footboards were damaged. I was VERY disappointed by my experience with DJK Environmental. They had come to me as a recommendation from a realtor, so I thought they’d be good. We paid money to have the asbestos test expedited, which took longer than the timeline DJK gave me and they didn’t even call me when the results were in. They also made a few errors on the quote to remove the asbestos, and again didn’t seem to care about the timeline they had given me or earning the business from us. I had to track them down any time I wanted information . They did not keep me informed about anything which was awful considering the timeline we are on to move into our house. When I got quotes from a couple other companies for the same service, I learned that DJK are price gougers as they were going to charge me 40% more than the other bids. I notified my realtor about the horrible communication, awful pricing & negative experience with DJK to ensure they don’t get business from any of her clients ever again. Stay away from DJK

At the last minute in a project, we discovered we had asbestos in the attic. DJK Enviromental was recommended by a friend and I'm very glad I chose them. They fit me into their schedule quickly so the rest of the project didn't get messed up, they were excellent with communication, and they secured a settlement refund from an asbestos trust that helped with the costs immensely. They didn't even ask about that last part - they just filled out all the paperwork on my behalf. I was so surprised, and so very happy with their service. I got a detailed report on what took place and the results of air quality afterwards. When the asbestos settlement required extra paperwork to verify it, they went to bat and got it taken care of. I can highly recommend this company and would use them again in a heartbeat. Note: price reflected below is the total cost, but $4,934.78 was recouped by the asbestos trust settlement, bringing my total costs down to $4,590.22, less than half!

Every cent spent for this project went to the right company, DJK. The communication and guidance from beginning to end was superb, especially thanks to Brian (on-site consultant) and Vanessa (project coordinator). Should I ever find myself back in an asbestos concern, DJK will be my first and only call.

DJK has went above and beyond to take care of all our needs. we have needed emergency testing and they were there within hours with results either same day or early the next day! The employee's are all extremely friendly. 10 out of 10 if you ask me!

Let me preface this by saying that they have threatened to not complete the job or remedy their malpractice until they receive a 5-star review. They also threatened to “pump my house full of asbestos” if I do not give them glowing praise. Now the review: In short they took me for a ride, charged a premium, and didn’t even deliver the bare minimum. They approached me after putting an inquiry on Angi about asbestos abatement in the attic. They charged almost $3000 to reinsulate the attic (they swore that they would put it in the rafters, too), and they charged another $1500 to put down sub-floor (they claimed they would use plywood on the phone) and make the attic a “liveable” space. I asked them to leave “a few” pieces of the old barn wood. There are still visible piles of asbestos. The reinsulation was done in the floor joists (despite them assuring me on phone calls and emails that they would do it in the rafters as I had told them several times). Moreover, they left large sections uninsulated and tried to cover it up. Had I not checked, they would have happily ripped me off. The flooring is a joke. They used 7/16 OSB sheathing (about $300 in materials) which is not rated for use as sub-floor and does not meet code (they were apparently too lazy to google the requirements). The installation is a joke, they didn’t bother cutting or measuring, they just lazily slapped down the panels, often overlapping them, letting the edges fall down into the joist space, and even pinching live wires. This is not “liveable” let alone useable or even safe and now needs to be completely re-done. When I called to complain, Vanessa was sung and condescending. When I tried to follow up as they had not gotten back to me as promised, they went on a tirade about how they felt personally victimized that I expected them to do the job that I had paid them for. They then threatened me to try and bully me into giving them a good review, tried to gaslight me, and blatantly lied to my face. Looking at their reviews I now need to wonder how many of the positive reviews were simply 1) fake, or 2) bullied into giving a false representation of their service. They were meant to show up today to remedy it, but that was also a lie (or they are holding true to their attempt to extort a positive review from me). Oh, I also asked if they could leave *a few* pieces of the old barnwood, and they took advantage of that as an excuse to bill me for removal of the old subfloor while removing absolutely nothing, even pieces of formica that had been used as flooring. They smugly stated that they believed them to be aesthetically pleasing in a mocking tone (apparently the staff at DJK environmental also believe formica, laminate, 70s wood paneling, and splintered up fragments are “aesthetically pleasing barn wood”. I gave them an inch and they spat in my face and took me for a ride. Once they have your money they will cut corners and be extremely rude and mocking towards you when you complain,. They also called me to threaten me to try and make me remove bad reviews. Lazy, negligent, dishonest, and with contempt for their customers has been my experience with them. The second they got my money they began treating me like trash. This will be going to court. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from DJK Environmental. They have been a nightmare. Also look at the reviews on Yelp and stuff - this does not appear to be an isolated incident.

They did the removal and cleaned everything up, but never came clean with me that they knocked out a corner of my newly drywall wall. I would have been ok with it, but he said he said he didn’t do it and kept telling me, “ you never do walls first”. With that comment I knew he was lying to me.

DJK Environmental did a great job removing asbestos floor tiles and mastic in my basement. All the work was done as promised and everyone I talked to at the company was professional and courteous. The price was reasonable and they even came out on a Sunday to complete the work. I had a tight deadline and they were booked out a few weeks - but they found time to meet my deadline. Highly recommend!

We contacted this company based on the positive reviews. It seems as though that there aren't many companies who want to touch this type of work (so to speak). Or, if they do they are expensive. DJK wasn't much of an exception. They did respond rather quickly when I had first contacted them. They came out and inspected the suspected mold problem area in our bedroom. So finally about 3 weeks later, $1,330.00 and 2 hours of work AND for a 2' x 2' square hole cut out in our bedroom wall. And, they had sprayed a potent biocide chemical that hopefully killed our mold problem! They don't do any mold air quality testing at all. Hence, a lab is involved. DJK will come out in advance and use a moisture meter that is supposed to detect where the moisture sits. Then they zero in on the behind the walled suspect area. That problem was caused by another painting contractor who supposedly did caulk around our windows! Apparently not. Otherwise water wouldn't have seeped in and caused this issue. Oh well, another review and problem for another day. We think it's now gone. And we'll be happier for that part. They charge extra to repair the plaster wall with a drywall (NOT plaster). You'll have to hire someone else to do plaster repair if that is what you want. Don't forget about replacing the possibly contaminated wall insulation that they may take out and dispose of. Then figure either priming and painting it yourself after the plaster has cured. Or, hiring yet another darned contractor. In short, I think DJK does the job ok, but they ain't cheap. We will see.

DJK did an excellent job removing the subfloor coated in asbestos glue and the tub with lead in the coating. They also helped out after the project to identify some other material. Very friendly, helpful, and professional.

Very well. They came and gave a complete estimate, we very clear about what needed to be done and got everything done in the two days they had planned and did superlative work. We were very pleased with all aspects of this improvement project. Brian and his crew worked very hard and made sure the work was done to our satisfaction. They also sent a full report of the work for our records.

DJK were great. I live in a house built in 1939 that we're doing renovations to and like any house built before the late 80's, there's always a chance that one or more building materials could contain asbestos. So before work started we needed to test anything that would be disturbed. DJK came within one to two days to test and it was quick and painless. Unlike another company that came out and used the fear of asbestos to make money off of me, they came out explained and anserwed all me qustions with out the doom and gloom of asbestos. Thankfully only one out of the 6 items tested came back positive. They explained we were in no danger, but gave us options on how to handle it. It's been decided that we're going to seal it as oppose to removing it. When we do this we are going to have DJK do the work. With the other companies that I talked to, DJK are heads and shoulders above the rest with their insight and their cost of work.

Technicians came out same day as request for estimate, scheduled work within the week. Work was done within a day, technicians completely cleaned the area and did a great job clearing all old flooring.

I contracted DJK to remove asbestos in a house that I'm selling. Even though I had to come back to them and add scope and make other changes they were always accommodating, returned my calls quickly, adapted as best they could to my schedule, and performed excellent work and clean-up. They really went the extra mile to make sure everything was taken care of. I would recommend DJK to anyone.

It was excellent. They had great customer service, the came in did the job. They were neat, tidy, and respectful. I was very satisfied with their work. They were very honest because there were several areas where work did not be done and instead of them just charging me for it they advised me that they were fine. They were very thorough and I would highly recommend them.
