He was honest about what he could do and couldn't do. He did an acceptable job of patching our stone wall and we were fine with that. <br /> I don't think this company understood the power of Angie's list and was overwhelmed by the response. That's why it took so long to get to us. <br />

They were difficult to get in touch with, as it seemed many people bought the deal.  They finally contacted me via email and then I called once or twice to find out when they could come.  They did come on the date they said they would.  The guys put the bricks back together.  It was done okay, a little lopsided, but I know the deal was only for I believe 4 hours of work, so they did not have a lot of time.  It is fixed, not falling down and hopefully will last. <br />

They were friendly and upfront about what they could do in the 4 hours.  I had some mortar that was starting to fail around the service door to my garage, and they removed the failed masonry and replaced it (even matching the original bricks). <br /> They offered to stay for a bit longer and provide some extra work for an even $200.  I was very happy with the results. <br />

They did not do what was asked. <br /> Paid for 4 hours of work and received only 1 hour.  Two person showed up with only one doing work, while the other sat in the car.  The work perform was not adequate.  I contacted the company and they understood the concern and committed to address the problem.  They stated they were flooded with business and would get to me.  Gave them the address and they never showed up. <br /> Its now 8 months later and 10 phone calls with NO response. <br /> DO NOT USE these people! <br />

D&J is great - they are very honest and go above and beyond on their jobs.  I had used them before for a repair on stone wall.  They always let you know what they are doing and why, and then walk you through everything once they are done to make sure you're happy with what's been done.  They looked at the brick and mortar job in my chimney and actually told me that it was in good condition and I DIDN'T need to spend more money on additional services from them. <br />

Bought the Big Deal. Did not hear from them for a few days. When we finally connected, simply wanted me to describe work needed over the phone then they would come out to complete, with any time beyond deal charged extra. I insisted I meet with them to look at project and get an estimate of additional work. We met and reviewed the project, but I only received a verbal ballpark figure. The weather then turned cold, and the work could not be completed until Spring arrived, about six months after deal was purchased. I reached out to them to make sure I received the services I paid for. I heard back that I was not forgotten. One of the two, not the one I met with, came out to complete the job. I came home to find some tones from my yard used to complete the job, as the exiting bricks were insufficient. No call or clearance from me. Just left that way, despite their also being loose bricks by the stones, which have made more sense to use. I called and the person I originally met with came back to correct the issue, using the other bricks I had on hand. So, it all worked out, though not as professionally as i had hoped. <br />

The provider did a very sloppy job.  The mortar is spread all over the bricks and will require some extensive wire brushing or clean up effort on my part.  I would have been better off trying this myself and saving the time of the extensive clean up effort.  If I cannot get the mortar off the bricks it looks so bad that I will need to replace the entire walkway without question.  I signed up for a 3 hour deal with this provider and it has been a miserable experience from the very start.  I finally started calling him everyday in the theory that the squeaky wheel would get the grease and considering my job was pretty straightforward.  I sent him pictures so that he knew what to expect in advance.  I was extremely polite until now considering there's no point in making him mad prior to the job. Even as I was calling him everyday he could not keep track of who I was or where I lived etc.  In my opinion he's extremely unorganized and overwhelmed.  Those 2 attributes are not usually a big deal for me if they do good work. (most contractors aren't the best businessmen IMO) Unfortunately his work is completely unacceptable.  I would not hire this person again for even the smallest or simplest job.  I truly feel I could have done better by going on youtube and watching a couple of videos. The only reason he is getting a "D" versus an "F" is because the work was technically completed (albeit horribly) and I'm a nice guy.  I should have gone with my gut feeling when I saw the reviews on Angie's list prior to purchasing. <br />
