Absolutely outstanding from start to finish. We've had work done by D & K before, so we knew what to expect. Dan was able to provide us with a quote within a day or so of our calling him. This was a two-day project. Dan and Ryan were right on time and were very clean and careful. Our home is an almost 100 year-old Arts & Crafts bungalow and they had respect for, and took the time to be careful of, all of the wood trim. Since we were at home, they worked quietly and completely cleaned up after each day. In the bedroom, some very heavy furniture had to be moved, which they helped us do without complaint. We love their work and would recommend D & K to anyone.

It went ok. The overall painting job was decent but I expected the quality of the project to be a bit higher after reading the many "A" reviews on Angie's List. The job seemed a bit rushed. They did patch many of the holes in the walls but many of those patches can be seen after painting. They also missed quite a few nail pops that could have been pushed/hammered in and painted more cleanly. A lot of paint was splattered/spilled on areas not being painted, including our carpeting, bedspread, tile floor, bathroom fan, trim, door handle, doors, etc. They did come back to clean some of those spills/splatters but only after calling them and requesting them to do so.

Work was excellent. I just had someone ask about where I got the new door and was surprised when I said it was 10 years old and had just been refinished.

This was the first time I've used D&K's services, and now I know I will use them for all of my future painting needs. I needed the exterior trim of my house painted, as well as some other areas, and Dan was more than accommodating. I found his rates to be very competitive, which really helped us out. Overall, Dan is really friendly and cares for his work. In fact, I made a mistake with a certain color, and Dan fixed the issue without raising the price, even though I expected him too. Again, they will definitely receive a call from me in the future when I need more help with painting.

Excellent. Dan and crew provided advanced notice and were on time each day. Painting of the eaves involved hand scraping, spot priming and painting, which was a lot of hard work on our near 100 year-old home. They took pains to clean up all debris and were very careful around plants. They did everything promised and asked several times during the project if everything was going as we expected. Dan even brought in my garbage cans after pickup - not a big job but certainly not expected! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or to use D&K Painting again

I am extremely satisfied and highly recommend D&K. Dan the owner responded immediately to my request for an estimate. We scheduled a date and he kept to the times we agreed on. After power washing, we found areas on the siding and trim that needed replacement or repair. Dan gave me a reasonable estimate and his crew did a great job on the spots that needed fixing. The painting was done by Dan himself and a team of courteous, attention to detail professionals and I couldn't be happier.

Excellent workmanship and quality from the surface prep and cleaning to the two coats of paint. Color just what we wanted. Dan personally supervised and painted along with 3 of his workers. Kim from the office was helpful in keeping us posted on the starting date of the work.

Dan came out to give me a quote. He told me he is personally involved with every project, and he was. I had originally only wanted the exterior of my house painted/stained (cedar) and the deck painted. Both had not been painted in a number of years and the deck was in pretty bad shape. One of the main reasons I hired Dan and his team was due to the fact they did carpentry as well as painting, and so he was able to quote me the painting and the fixing of my deck (a few boards and support beam needed replacing). Dan's team did an excellent job on both. He was able to fix the deck during the winter months, and was able to complete the painting in June. Dan's team was professional, cleaned up after themselves, and I saw Dan multiple times during the entire process. He was truly involved with the project and that is one thing I really appreciated about him and his team. He did a great job and I would absolutely use them again! Thanks Dan!

Great! Scheduled at the end of the previous season to get the work done at the beginning of this year. Weather cooperated and they were ahead of schedule. Completed the job per the set expectation. Work looks great. Dan was extremely great to work with. Highly recommended and definitely plan to use D&K Painting again the next time I need a painter.

From start to finish, Dan is great to work with. He promptly responded to my request for a bid, and came to visit shortly after. Some of the things I most appreciated: <br /> - Dan and Ryan are a two man team - you know who you are getting. That means you know who is coming in and out of your home, you know that you will receive their work, and you know you can expect consistency. <br /> - Not only do they show up on time, they show up early. Every. Single. Time. <br /> - They are incredibly conscientious of the state in which they leave your house. This means vacuuming, dusting, and everything else. I couldn't believe it when I walked into my kitchen after a day of sanding and not only was there no dust anywhere in my kitchen, but there were Dan and Ryan on their hands and knees scrubbing my floors to make sure my floors were in the exact state they found them in. <br /> -They work a full day. The first day, they arrived at 8:15am (for an 8:30 appointment). They took a 25 minute lunch break, and then worked straight through 5pm. It's sad that this is so unusual, but it was notable and appreciated. They're incredibly reasonably priced, and you get an honest day's work for that money. <br /> -They work hard. Not only are they putting in good time, but they are making good use of that time. We've had experiences where contractors come and go, take cigarette breaks, and generally mismanage the time they are supposed to be working. Dan and Ryan get things done! They got our kitchen cabinets sanded, primed, painted with two coats, and put back together in a matter of 5 days. Wow! <br /> - They take pride in the quality of their work. Our cabinets turned out amazing. Like anything with paint, you see certain areas that need a little extra love once everything is up and in the light. Dan broke out the paint and immediately started addressing any areas that needed touching up. They even offered to come back and follow up if we saw anything additional down the line. <br /> - They're nice guys. If you are going to invite people into your home, what a bonus for them to be good people who you trust and are happy to give business to. <p>Dan came out and quoted the job in early Summer - he was very responsive and professional.  He sent me the quote in the time frame that he promised (I think within 24 hrs.) - and fully explained the scope of work.  When he followed up, I told him that we were doing some other remodeling that wouldn't be complete until the end of the summer - and could he wait until the Fall to start.  We agreed on a tentative start date - and he followed up close to the date.  We gave him the go-ahead and he started in late September.  He was not deterred from a change in our plans - and having to wait.</p> <p>We couldn't be happier.  Dan and his team - did a phenomenal job!  Even our neighbors told us that our house hadn't looked that good in the 35 yrs. that they lived next to it.  They spent a great deal of time cleaning, scraping - and even meticulously sanding the porch floor.  The materials they used were top quality - and Dan didn't leave out any detail.</p> <p>I've had past old homes painted before in different areas of the country, and haven't found anyone that matches the quality that Dan did on our house in Batavia.</p> <br />

Dan and his crew did an excellent job painting/staining our house and garage.  I'm a fussy customer and was looking for a painter with good attention to detail.  Dan and his crew did not disappoint me.  His price was fair and I am very happy with the finished product.  Our house looks great, and because of the quality of preparation and materials, it should continue to look great for many years.  When it finally does need paint again, I will be calling Dan. <br />

We had looked at several bids from various painters, but D & K were going to do the work by hand, and use Benjamin Moore paint, both of which were important to us.  Dan was not pushy, he did not try to make me hurry and make a decision on choosing a painter, and he was very detailed in what the work would entail.  First, he came and powerwashed my home and then he inspected any loose or warped cedar boards that would need replacing.  The next day, he and his employee, Ryan, arrived early in the morning.  Both were cordial and courteous.  Ryan started to remove all the shutters framing the front windows and covering shrubs, light fixtures and  anything else that needed protection.   Since I wasn't sure about my color choice, Dan painted a few house boards so I could see what the color would actually look like.  Once all that was done, the two men started painting.  They came back the next day to put on another coat, and made sure they cleaned up all around the perimeter of the house, even raking through the flower beds and grass to grab any paint chips that may have fallen.  Our home looks beautiful!  This company also handles interior painting and remodeling-so when it comes time to do the inside, this is who we will call.  Honest, dependable, fair and interested in good customer service.  Highly Recommended. <br />

I highly recommend hiring Dan from D & K Painting. We hired Dan to paint the interior of our new home before we moved in. The paint turned out great and he finished on time. Dan and his team were easy to work with they showed up on time and cleaned up.

<p>Looks great.  Outstanding attention to detail.  Dan and his crew were on time (or early) every day, were very unobtrusive, and extremely courteous.  Dan was not the low bidder; but we were more comfortable with his knowledge and experience.  A huge plus is that he is one of the crew and was here from start to finish versus other bidders who stated they would stop by to check on the work.  We have arranged for Dan to do some interior work on several rooms.</p>

When I first contacted Dan, he didn't think he would be able to do the work until September. I figured later was better than never, so I told him to go ahead and schedule us. Within three weeks Dan contacted me via e-mail to say that weather permitting they might be able to get the job done early August. I said great. Two weeks or so later Dan e-mailed and called me to say that they would be able to get to our house the next week, if the weather held out. They were here early this week, power washed the exterior and came the next day, replaced the wood where needed and applied two coats of paint all in one day. They did a great job! The only way I knew they had come when I drove into the driveway was that the wood around the garage door was white again! Everything was great! I would recommend them over and over. <br />

This was a challenging job.  A lift was needed to reach the eaves of this 120 year old Victorian landmark.  Dan and his crew were fantastic.  The job was done on time, on budget and excellent workmanship.  My highest recommendation.  I have renovated seven houses and know when I find a true pro.  And on top of it, they are courteous and very nice.

Dan is the only guy I asked to come out and bid the work.  He had great reviews on Angie's List and is also located in St. Charles.  Since I wasn't going to be around when the painting was being done, I wanted someone I could trust and knew would do good work.  My husband works out of the house and he and Dan got along well.  My husband pointed out two small areas that I had not mentioned to Dan and Dan was great about patching and painting those areas.  Dan went out and had the paint matched too.  I wish I had an unlimited budget because I would have loved to have a couple of other rooms paint. <br />

Dan from D & K Painting was so great to work with!  He came out to quote painting a small area of our kitchen ceiling that was repaired due to water damage.  He was able to get the paint to blend perfectly and even painted our soffit that was damaged as well.  Dan was very professional, timely and efficient and extremely reasonable!  We will definitely be using him again!!! <br />

Dan and his team are great.  My home has plaster walls, very high ceilings.  The work is excellent, clean up is excellent and all on budget.  I highly recommend him.  I will be using him to do a difficult exterior job this spring.  Yea Dan!  You can be confident in his work and professionalism. <br />

I could not be any more satisfied with the work done by this company. They were extremely courteous, professional  and FAST! The work was done in a very timely manner & was done perfectly. Dan & Kim worked with me ( since we were out of state) to have an estimate done and then timed the work to be done when we were at the home in September. They arrived on time every day ( 7:30 am sharp) covered everything, were neat and did an impeccable job! I highly recommend them if your looking for someone you can trust and want a perfect job done! <br />

I received an email that they were coming to power wash the house, in preparation for painting.  Dan came later that day and we selected colors and talked about some siding boards that needed to be replaced.  Dan and his crew arrived promptly at the appointed time and day to start painting.  They were friendly, efficient , and professional.  They cleaned everything each evening and at the end of the project. <br />

In addition I have referred them to numerous friends and customers. I have never been disappointed. They are the best!!
