It went great. Every person I dealt with from this company was prompt, professional, personable, very careful with being neat like using drop clothes and feet protectors when necessary. I checked out reviews on this company before hiring them and they have top notch reviews. After the install (with which they showed up with 4 trucks and 5 installers) because we had 2 zones. Can't say enough good things about them. Would recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, hard working company who prides themselves on their work.

Richard Harry performed the biannual maintenance for our HVAC system. He is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and personable. As a new homeowner, I appreciated his attention to detail which pointed out several serious deficiencies missed on our home inspection. He found a rusted furnace flue, a hazard that could cause carbon monoxide poisoning, and “organic growth” in the humidifier. Additionally, he noted the buildup in our ducts that was blowing dirty air in our home. We had the duct cleaning already scheduled so we planned for his return after. After the duct cleaning, he returned and spent nearly three hours taking care of our system. In addition to the biannual maintenance, he thoroughly cleaned the humidifier, and added air scrubbers. He also commented positively on the companies that performed the recommended work. I will definitely use their services again and ask for him.

When I called DM Select Services to schedule my air conditioner service on March 18th, the customer service rep (Lynn) asked one of her coworkers to pull my file. She clearly forgot to put the phone on hold or mute, because all I could hear was the office laughing while they attempted to say my last name, all of which was in a highly disrespectful manner. I asked that she stop making fun of my last name, and it did not matter as the chatter and laughter continued. She herself came back on the phone laughing and likely did not realize that I was listening. If someone at the customer service line doesn't know how to say or pronounce someone's name, they should be respectful and ask rather than lead an office full of employees in a bantering effort. I will never use DM Select Services again for any project and will convince others to stay away from your company as well.

Our AC had stopped working today. I always check Angie's list first for all of my home repair needs and found DM Select Services as a top recommendation and local in the Winchester, Virginia area which is what I prefer. Within 3 hours of my call the DM Select Services HVAC specialist, Andrew, arrived and 3 hours after that he had completed the repairs. Andrew was polite, professional and considering the accumulation of gunk in/on the attic unit, had amazing patience with the challenges of getting into our attic and cleaning up and repairing the problem. I sincerely appreciate all of the assistance and attention to every detail.

We have used DM Select for plumbing and HVAC services several times. They are always easy to work with and do a great job. For this work, they replaced a leaking hose bib and shut off valve and cleared out three clogs affecting water pressure in our sinks. Everything is working well now and looks great. We will use them again.

The problem was discovered fairly quickly. A fuse was replaced and a short was searched for. Never found the short. Technician told me that this unit probably had this problem in the past with the last owner of the house based on a modification made to the 40Year old air handler in the basement. It's been at least a month and everything is working fine.

This is the second home I have used DM Select. My last home I needed a complete new system. They installed it at a great price, and on time. My current(new) home has 3 units, Andrew spent an hour with me figuring out which units supplied what area of my home, made repairs on my current units and got us up and running the same day. In addition to great Service Tech's I spoke with Tammy in the office, super professional and took care of everything in one call. The rate I paid through Angie's List was about half of what other companies typically charge for the same service. One small part needed cleaning. There was no additional charge for their service at the time it was performed.

The representative from DM informed me that my furnace was rusting away and that we needed to replace it immediately or dangerous CO2 emissions would leak into the house possibly causing injury or even death. DM tried very hard to push us to make an immediate purchase of a new furnace and air conditioner which we did not do. Instead, based upon their assessment, we got quotes from 3 other contractors, all of who told us we needed to replace the furnace immediately. One of the contractors who gave us a quote actually turned our gas off and left. My brother-in-law worked for Washington Gas for over 20 years. He took a look at our furnace and told us that it was old but that it was working fine, which it has done ever since. I feel that all four contractors we talked to were actually running a scam. They try to make the homeowner feel that they must replace their furnace immediately, and make a nice profit. I would not trust any of these heating and cooling contractors for an accurate assessment. When I think I might need a new furnace I will go to Washington Gas for a reliable opinion. The cost listed below include both new furnace and AC.

"Our technician found a 30 year furnace that was showing signs of fatigue on the heat exchanger . our technician advised the customer that there was a POTENTIAL hazardous condition with the furnace due to age and signs of fatigue on heat exchanger and advised that replacement should be considered. We feel that our diagnosis was and advice to customer was sound . 'There seems to be three other contractors with similar diagnosis. The owner of our reached out to the customer after this poor rating in effort the have owner of company personally look at furnace for second opinion however we never received a return phone call from customer. Our A+ rating with Angies list is something we are very proud of and is very important to us and feel that this rating was not justified ."

Through my home services contract I requested DM Services as the plumbing/heating/air conditioning contractor that could provide all services necessary. They determined much to my relief that the concrete floor did not need to be drilled in order to replace the pipe. A substantial portion of the sewage pipe was replaced also without having to move the A/C heating unit, though the heat had to be turned off. DM Services also suggested replacing the A/C-heating unit's duct work as well as the media cabinet (which houses the A/C heating filter) both of which had been contaminated by the leaking pipe. This work was completed quickly and professionally. This is a lengthy review but an honest effort to provide an accurate picture of how difficult over the course of a year it was to find the source of the problem (although it took DM Services about two seconds to identify the source as a sewage pipe leak) and then to finally arrange for the restoration. Only about 1/3 of which is covered under my home services contract.

Technician arrived as scheduled and performed a thorough inspection of my furnace – including checking for CO2 leaks (which some companies neglect to do during inspections). Technician was courteous and professional. Used Angie's List Deal/Coupon.

We were very pleased with the service and the technician. He did not try to sell us a new furnace like a technician from a previous service had. This technician said we might need a new minor part by next year but basically the furnace was fine.

Called and was able to schedule a technician to come out to take a look the next day (for no estimate charge). When the technician, Andrew, came out, spent 20 minute to look at the system. Diagnose that the strip heat relay failed and needed to be replaced. I agreed with the quoted price (for both labor and part). Overall I enjoyed the experience. The customer service was professional and friendly and was able to get an appointment the next day. I asked for a 30 minutes heads-up phone call before the technician came and the company was happy to comply. Andrew was punctual, friendly, and professional at the initial and follow up visit to install the part. With the $25 discount for Angie's member, the total cost came out to be $154. For about an hour of labor (travel and on-site) for two visits and the part, the price seems to be fair. I like that the company does not charge for inspecting the problem. Most company only waive the service call if customer decided to use its service. I am very satisfied with the service and will definitely use the company again!
