Done Right Insulation

We have had this task on our to-do list for more than a decade. Our 100-year-old house is easier to heat and cool now. We got rid of the mushroom smell after a heavy rain. The soft spots in the old tongue and groove floor is gone. This is our second time working with Felix. We'll probably hire him again in the future.

The company owner was easy to work with, quickly understood the issues, and responded quickly to questions. The crew, which included the owner, did the install in one day. The crew put up plastic using staples to protect the walls, and I had previously covered the pool and floor. But the install process was messy, with small bits of "over-spray" going everywhere. The crew attempted to clean up, and got most of the mess, but I ended up doing a lot of cleaning and removing a lot of staples.

Felix provides an excellent service at a good price. He was very helpful in terms of making sure I understood everything that needed to happen before he showed up on site. He not only quoted the project, but was on site throughout the installation. He and his crew were very thorough and congenial. Highly recommended.

The service went very well. It did take a few weeks to get them scheduled and we played phone tag for a while. I had to pay an additional $900 for an attic fan installation, as well as, some other work to fill up some vents. Two technicians came out and completed the job in about 4 hours. He was a straight shooter and did not try to add on any extra sales. He did exactly what I needed done.

The work was quick and it went well and was reasonably priced...however, they missed the fact that I needed attic vents and it took months to schedule that work in around all of his other angie's list appointments! <br />

They did a good job. The only reason for the B grade overall is that it took longer than I would have hoped to schedule because mine was a small job and they wanted to fit it in with others in my area. <br />

It was great. It was a really big upsell as they often are. It was $99 to do something and then he said let me quote what I think needs to be done and it was like $3700. But it was fine, I know that's the way they operate. He was cool and was a good guy. He came and did the work and was just fine. He was in and out there in 30 minutes.

That turned out fine. 2 employees came out and it took them about an hour at the most. It was a good deal and scheduling was not easy, but worth it.

It went very well. Felix did a good job, was on time, made sure everything was done correctly and double checked everything before they left. His crew did a quality cleanup and left without a hitch. <br />

Felix explained everything to me in terms I could understand. There were no surprises.  He was very fair on the cost and he was able to finish the job in less time than he quoted me.  He did not try to sell me anything that wasn't absolutely necessary.  I would definitely call Felix in the future and recommend Done Right Insulation to my friends!!

This was an Angie's Deal, and I think he didn't expect the large response.  He really wasn't set up for that volume.  I was excited because I wanted insulation in the area over my garage and this deal was at a reasonable price (first 600 sf for $99, then a price /sf after that).  As booked as he was with the offer, it took more than a month before he could come give a bid.  We spoke by phone, and he came out and met me to look at the attic.  Both times I stated I wanted the area over the garage included.  He also offered to insulate and cover the two old attic access points, and caulk/seal and trim the ladder access I had previously installed.  He sent the quote for R38 and I agreed.  However, after the work was done, I went to inspect and found all was not as expected.  The caulk used glued the access door to the joists- I had to go up through the old hole in the garage (which had not been sealed as it should have been) and jump up and down on the door from the top.  It peeled some of the laminate off, but I can live with that.  The big surprise was no insulation over the garage, at all.  When asked, he said he didn't know that's what I wanted and he could come back for a price.  He also said he never said he'd seal the old access points (we spoke about the 2x2 holes, needing to use some old decking to nail over the top, etc) and that the $75 charge for sealing was for other areas.  I sent him the invoice minus that $75 charge.  Also note that the invoice he sent when the work was completed showed it as already paid (clerical error, no big deal).  All in all, not I good experience. <br />

I like the big deal that was being offered from Angie's List and they had a great price. Felix was very good to work with and was responsive. He gave me a great setimate on what was going to be done. He was very good at meeting my needs. They were here in a timely manner and also did the work in a timley manner. I was very happy with what they did me.

I have a very tight or low attic ceiling and did not think anyone would be able to reach the bedroom area in the attic. Upon inspection Felix said that he thought they could crawl through a very tight space and reach all area in the attic, and they did.. I wanted to be able to access the attic area above the bedrooms, I had tried several times and could not.  (the existing entry was in the garage) and Felix said they could build an entry in the hallway or bedroom area and frame it out for $75.00. The inspection also revealed no duct on the bath exhaust  fan and the 3 gable screens were in need of repair or replacing, I choose replacing with the heavy duty (we have a lot squirrels) $135.00. I bought the duct for the bath and they installed (No cost.).  My wife and I also choose to upgrade the insulation from the quote R38 to R49 $200.00. <br /> They did a Very  Professional job and the cost was hundreds of dollars lower than all of the other (5) estimates, including the extras. <br /> We are very pleased. Since added the heat doesn't come on as often or stay on as long as before the insulation was added. <br /> <br /> <br />

Felix and his team were prompt, quick, and very clean. He explained in details all the choices and pro's and con's of everything. He was flexible with my concerns and was very knowledgable. We arranged an onsite <br /> visit, he showed up on time, conducted an assessment, spoke to me some more and <br /> updated his quote which was very close to what he had estimated over the phone. <br />  He answered all my questions. <br /> I was happy enough with the price that we agreed on a date <br /> and time for the work on the spot. I had done some research and knew the price <br /> was reasonable. And the other company I had called for a comparative estimate <br /> had never even called me back! <br /> Felix called me the day before to make sure we were still on <br /> track. He and his team showed up on time to do the work. They did what they <br /> said they would. It took as long as they had estimated. And they cleaned up <br /> very well afterwards. The work was well done and the finishing touches of insulating <br /> the attic trap door were a nice surprise. They left the work area clean and <br /> said goodbye with smiles. <br /> All in all, it was a great experience and I certainly wish I <br /> would have called them years ago! <br /> <br /> <br />

My sister used this company a year ago and couldn't say enough good things about Felix and his workers.  I decided to use them to insulate my subfloor and some other parts of my house.  Felix is one of the most honest contractors I have ever met and truly takes care of his customers. He provided knowledgeable insulation options from which to choose and his estimate was priced right for the work and materials. His workers were polite, prompt and very skilled. Felix oversaw the job and made sure that my expectations were met...and they could not have done a better job. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend Felix when it comes to insulation. <br />

We contacted Felix and he came out to give us an estimate.  We scheduled the actual work to be done within two weeks, which is what we wanted.  He came out and got the job done very efficiently and professionally.  He is honest and easy to work with.   <br /> Our utility bills (electric and gas) have been reduced substantially.  We have a 3000 sq ft home and avg electric bill in the summer was over $400.  Since the work was done, we have not had an electric bill over $250.   <br /> <br /> <br />

I had a great experience with Felix and his crew. They covered the appliances and cabinets I couldn’t remove with plastic and got to work.  Felix was very accommodating where most brick and mortar places didn’t want a job as small as mine. He was also very honest and personable.

Done Right Insulation did a great job insulating our attic with foam insulation.  We picked them based on Angie?s List comments and the fact that they provide closed cell as well as open cell foam insulation.   All in all, an excellent thorough job. <br /> <br /> We may want to insulate under the house or in the garage in the future, and will definitely use them again.

The first time we scheduled an appointment to meet at my house for an estimate he didn't show up supposedly due to his worker's car breaking and forgot to call me.  We re-scheduled a second time and he made some sound suggestions.  I went with just adding a additional lay of insulation in my attic as well as covering the area above my garage since I work in my garage in the winter time. <br /> When I asked him for a revised copy of the contract with updated pricing (I was considering adding a attic fan but took it off due to $$$), he was a bit dodgy with emailing me a copy and wanted to give it to me in person on completion of the job. <br /> <br /> He immediately got his to work on the scheduled day with his crew member and completed the job on time.  I'm pleased overall and would recommend him for insulation work.

Great.  I called them and they came out about 45 minutes later to do a quote.  They did the work within a week after the quote.
